My Thesis Municipality Slavhostice on the Border of Contemporary History shows the history and progress of the village Slavhostice lying in region Hradec Králové, district Jičín, in important historical moments. During the World War I, during the inter-war period, the World War II and post-war period. It also focuses on particular topics, school and schoolchildren, cultural life and various municipal associations and economic situation. The aim of my work is to show continuity, and vice versa the contrast between large and small history. Show the impact of global progresses to this small village and to show, a life of its own, despite the events. Events in the village are drawn based on the chronicles, accountancy, correspondence, home lists, photos and many other documents tracing the history of the village. As a supplement serve two narrations of its inhabitants. It should be a merit for Regional history.

Von historischen und kulturellen Konzeptionen strukturiert, durch politische Grenzen zerstückelt und geprägt von Kooperation und Konflikten sind Grenzräume ein komplexer Untersuchungsgegenstand. Der vorliegende Band versammelt geschichtswissenschaftliche, soziologische, ethnologische und informationswissenschaftliche Zugänge in zwölf Einzelbeiträgen und einer Schreibdiskussion. Neben theoretisch-methodischen Überlegungen stehen epochen- und auch disziplinübergreifend europäische Grenzräume im Fokus. Die Beiträge des Bandes analysieren diese Raum- und Grenzkonzeptionen empirisch fundiert mit Blick auf die soziale Konstruktion des Raums, die rechtlichen Verknüpfungen, die Alltagspraxis der Grenze, die Ausprägungen von Geschichtsbewusstsein und Geschichtskultur und die Inklusions- und Exklusionsdynamiken in verschiedenen Epochen. / Borderlands are a complex subject to study. They are structured by various historical and cultural conceptions, fragmented by political borders, and shaped by cooperation and conflict. This volume brings together different approaches from history, sociology, ethnology, and information science. It includes twelve individual contributions and a writing discussion. In addition to theoretical-methodological considerations, the volume focuses specifically on European borderlands across epochs and disciplines. The empirical contributions in this volume analyse conceptions of space and borders with special regard to the social construction of space, legal linkages, praxeology of the border, formation of historical consciousness and historical culture as well as the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion in different epochs.

This diploma thesis reviews the history of the Melnik region in the end of the Second World War and the resistence of the people. The aim of first body of the thesis is to describe the activity of Mělník natives in Royal Air Force. The materials for this part I got from archives. There are short profiles of fighter pilots, who left the Protectorate of Bohemia and Bohemia. The second part is about the resistance in Melnik region. In this region formed local resistance groups, but at the end of the war was there a cooperation with guerilla forces called "Narodni mstitel." In this thesis are described the soviet air-raids and some air-raids before May 1945. In the last part is described rising of the people in Melnik region, disarming of the enemy and entrance into the new era

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of attendance of Marienbad and its region in the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century, when travelling for health and progress of tourism in spas became an inseparable part of social, economic and political life. The thesis shows everyday spa life in this period from the point of view of spa visitors, at the same time emphasizes social and economic aspect of given problems of history, as well as progress of tourism and travelling in this area. The thesis is regionally focused, but it has also more general overlap to the question of balneology and health resorts in European benchmark. The thesis shows Marienbad as a cosmopolitan place - meeting point of cultural, political, economic and territorial elite.

The diploma work is focused on the conception of regional history teaching in the city of Příbram. It brings an up-to-date view on regional history seen through didactis and tries to show contemporary condition in the regional historical research. The whole work is divided into three big parts. The first one is aimed on the term region, on its meaning and understanding. Further it maps significant regional historians and researchers, it briefly draws near their work and makes us familiar with important personalities of Příbram regional research. It also deals with the history of the town Příbram and its closest surroundings. Data obtained from an empirical research, which was taken at seven high schools in Příbram where history as a subject is taught in final exams branches classes, are elaborated in the second part of the work. The found out facts about the state of regional history in history teaching are then compared with the former aims and hypothesis. The third part is focused on certain methodical possibilities of taking advantage of regional history in history teaching at high schools. Two proposals for project teaching methods which might be used in lectures by the teachers are presented.

The main aim of this thesis is to describe the personality and life of Ladislav Malý (1862-1956), a teacher, writer, traveller and amateur national historian, who put forward the foundation of the Museum of Příbram. The thesis also tries to situate Ladislav Malý's life into the context of the era and to assess his importance in the history of Příbram, the Příbram region and the Habsburg monarchy, respectively the Czechoslovak Republic. The third task of the thesis is to assess if Ladislav Malý fits in this context and whether or not, in some way, he is out of it. The story about Ladislav Malý is not strictly chronological. As the title "Chapters from Ladislav Malý's Life" sais, the individual aspects of his life (teacher's work, writing, traveling, etc.) are described separately to make them easier to understand and to place them in the overall picture of the era of second half of the 19th century till the middle of the 20th century.

É um novo olhar sobre a imigração italiana que vivia às margens e nos corredores dos cafezais / The work aims to evaluate the economic daily of the Italian immigrants at the turn of the nineteenth to the twentieth century, between 1887 and 1914 in Ribeirão Preto - SP, linked to economic activity known as domestic supply and livelihoods. The study is a contribution and to compare with studies on the region of Upper Mogiana which has as its primary focus to coffee as the predominant factor. In other words, immigration, especially in Italy, had links with the partial production of coffee that did not involve all of the daily manpower. Vision unveiled so far not much and demonstrated what this paper seeks to contribute. It's a new look at Italian immigrants who lived on the margins and in the corridors of the coffee plantations

The diploma thesis, based primarily on the method of oral history, deals with selected chapters from the life of Petr Rýgr, a dissident and a person belonging to the circle of parallel culture. It is conceived as an episodic biography, while in the course of the research it follows the topic of the desire for a free life in a represive regime. The time limit corresponds to the period, called as "normalization" in socialist Czechoslovakia. The work captures the life of a dissident on a regional scale, on the border of the districts of Trutnov and Náchod. Rýgr's life is viewed in the text from several perspectives, primarily the self-concept of the protagonist, the view of his friends, and then the view of the author of the work based on the interpretation of interviews and the study of written sources. The individual chapters deal with Rýgr's adolescence, the possible degree of formation by opinion authorities, Václav Havel or Jaroslav Foglar, as well as life in a parallel, unofficial world, the issue of work duty or the October 1989 event when Petr Rýgr sent an advertisement to Rudé právo congratulating Václav Havel alias Ferdinand Vaňek on his birthday.
