As relações de poder e o espaço urbano como região nos contos de Tania Jamardo Faillace

Polesso, Natalia Borges 17 August 2011 (has links)
This dissertation verses about the relations of Power and the space of the city as a region. Beginning in a context where the cultural and academic production of women still searches stability, at the same time that it may be observed a raising of qualitative impact in the social, cultural, political and academic movements network in this field,. Yet, it seems important to take an analytical view at the works and authors that might not had received the due attention historically. That is, works and authors superficially named in Brazilian or sul-rio-grandense historiography. That is, works and female authors briefly mentioned in historiographies in Brasil or, in this case, in Rio Grande do Sul, that haven´t been analyzed and, therefore, that haven´t received the attention deserved and the value as cultural material and immaterial heritage (cultural manifestations). In this sense, the past is negotiable, that is, it can be constantly reconstructed. Hence, this dissertation work proposes an exam of the relations of power in five short stories by Tânia Jamardo Faillace, written at around the 1970s, ( Tradição , Secretária commercial , Excelentes vizinhos , "Propriedade e O terror ), and, based on this exam, elucidate aspects of History in a feminine perspective, in this manner, verifying if the relations of power and the relations between the characters and the space can built an urban space. Other analysis to the present project is the urban space seen as a region. The construction of the narratives in the short stories can reconstruct the city as a symbolic representation by a woman scrutiny. Through this perspective, it will be possible to observe the intricate sociocultural issues of gender in the configuration of a urban region in development.

Nekonvenční síla malých států: srovnávací případová studie Litvy a Tchaj-wanu (ROC) / Unconventional power of small states: a comparative case study of Lithuania and Taiwan (ROC)

Eidėjūtė, Gabrielė January 2021 (has links)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES Institute of Political Studies Department of Geopolitical Studies Master's Thesis Unconventional power of small states: a comparative case study of Lithuania and Taiwan (ROC) Abstract: The hypotheses of the leading international relations theories, especially realism, face fundamental criticism for not explaining the behavior of some small states, who lack material power but play an effective and influential role in the international arena. To fill in this oversight, the contemporary discourse of small states challenges the resource-based understandings of power and seeks new avenues to explain how some small states succeed in "punching above their weight." Most recently, Dr. Tom Long (2017) synthesized previous academic researches and proposed that the small state's power can be best understood as originating in three categories: derivative, collective, and particular-intrinsic. This thesis aims to contribute to the argument that small states can possess unconventional power to advance their influence and achieve their national interests. It uses Dr. Tom Long's three categories of unconventional power, as a basis for the comparative case study of Taiwan and Lithuania - two small states that have notoriously challenge the notion of "how a small state should...

Postkolonialiteit in die twintigste- en een-en-twintigste-eeuse Afrikaanse drama met klem op die na-sestigers / Postkolonialiteit in 20ste- en 21ste-eeuse Afrikaanse drama met klem op die na-sestigers

Van der Merwe, Anna Susanna Petronella 30 November 2003 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / In this thesis the term post-colonialism in the Afrikaans drama is investigated, focussing on the post-sixties. The term post-colonialism is difficult to define. Not only are theories of post-colonialism in a state of continuous flux and shifting emphasis, but as a result of different colonial dominations, separate identities have been constructed in South-Africa; so that defining the terms colonial, post colonial and post-colonial proves to be even more problematic. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the Afrikaans drama fits into these discourses. The basic point of departure is the fact that post-colonialism played a considerable role in the development of the Afrikaans drama, at the same time providing a more varied scope. The research covers several aspects of post-colonialism in Afrikaans drama; each dealt with in a separate chapter. A multitude of perspectives are featured within the broader discourse in order to obtain multiple norms and standards in a phase of self-criticism. The focus falls mainly on themes and not on performance aspects. New perspectives on issues such as canon texts, silence, hero-worship, the portrayal of woman, patriarchy, and neo-colonialism are presented (chapter 1). In chapter 2 focus falls on the period before 1960, and notably the question of nationalism (associated with apartheid) and the portrayal of the Afrikaner. The literary canon, forms of violence and the position of the super-Afrikaner are viewed in a new light during the re-writing of post-colonial history and the resulting paradigm shifts after 1960. Renewed emphasis is placed on discourse concerning land (chapter 3). Contrasting concepts regarding race, class, language, gender and religion are reconsidered in order to contribute towards the heterogeneous nature of post-colonialism (chapter 4). The function of theatre is to re-evaluate in the context of a post-1994 democratic system. Texts now focus especially on empowerment, re-discovery and re-ordering of history, reconciliation, inter-cultural contact and a post-apartheid syndrome (chapter 5). Anti-hegemonic resistance in Afrikaans literature since the sixties has confronted writers with the challenge of depicting or creating a larger post-colonial reality through their texts. / Afrikaans & Theory of Literature / D. Vliv zahraničních soukromých aktérů na politické rozhodování v ČR: případ japonských a německých ekonomických aktérů / Influence of foreign private actors on political decision-making in the Czech Republic: case study of Japanese and German economic actors

Barták, Petr January 2019 (has links)
Influence of non-state transnational actors on decision-making of sovereign states is one of the most important topics in the international relations discipline. Some academic approaches consider this influence as quite important. Others perceive it as only secondary. Economic actors are a specific case because they on one hand bring know-how, employment and economic growth. On the other hand, they decrease sovereignty of the host states. This thesis tries to uncover influence of the two strongest non-state transnational economic actors in the Czech Republic - German and Japanese Chambers of Commerce. The topic of lobbying of these actors in the case of lack of labor force in the Czech Republic was chosen because of its good empirics. The text also aims to test assumptions according to which bargaining power of such actors is influenced by geographical distance between the host state and home country of the transnational actor. This thesis also wants to address the general topic of influence of the transnational actors on states in the international relations, based on the findings of this case study.
