Naratologijos teorija padeda atskleisti pasakojimo ypatybes, naratoriaus santykį su tekstu. Todėl ir yra svarbiausia, kaip pasakojama. / The concept of narratology is related to the name of G. Genette. His theories allow regarding the text analysis differently. The most important is not what is narrated, but how it is narrated. The theory of narratology helps to reveal the peculiarities of narration and narrators relation to the text. Therefore, how it is narrated is most important.

The following study is an analysis of New York reviews of performances of Maria Callas and Renata Tebaldi which attempts to discover what opera critics feel to be the most effective artistic balance between singing and acting in opera. Callas and Tebaldi have been chosen as the subjects of the reviews because of their renown as singers, the closely coinciding circumstances
of their careers and the polarities which they represented in the issue of acting versus singing in operatic performance.
The primary data of the study (largely opera, concert and recording reviews) has been taken from distinguished American journals, such as Saturday Review. The New Yorker. Musical America and The New York Times. Secondary information has been extracted from "news" journals, such as Time and Newsweeky and books, most of which were written by critics who figure prominently in the main body of the analysis. The information (consisting of news stories, personal interviews with the singers, and discussions of critical obligations) has been included in order to gain a broader perspective on the critics, the singers and the concept of acting in opera.
The general conclusion reached in this study is that though most critics demand much musical and little dramatic finesse in operatic performance, they are capable of profound appreciation of a singer's histrionic talent and will overlook many vocal flaws when it is manifest. / Arts, Faculty of / Theatre and Film, Department of / Graduate

Previous issue date: 2014 / Resumo: Pretende-se na tese "Renata Lucas e os espaços públicos: intrincamento e fissura" discutir o conjunto dos trabalhos da artista que se configuram como instalações e intervenções no espaço, com ênfase nas intervenções nos espaços públicos. Parte-se das premissas de que tais trabalhos se instituem como um intrincamento específico com o lugar onde se inserem, e de suas configurações enquanto potencial político. Assim, o objeto da pesquisa decorre das relações que o trabalho artístico estabelece com o espaço, seja em sua fisicalidade ou em sua discursividade. A análise do conjunto dos trabalhos de Renata Lucas, produzidos entre 2001 e 2013, baseia-se em teorias de áreas diversas (filosofia, antropologia, história e, fundamentalmente, nas teorias do campo da arte). Por meio de leituras distintas, tenciona-se ressaltar na poética da artista: a percepção corporal do espectador/participante no espaço; a possibilidade de irromperem-se socialidades; a tentativa de criar uma fricção com o espaço por meio da alteração dos códigos representacionais pré-ordenados. Investigam-se as problematizações decorrentes da intervenção no espaço pré-ordenado, que possibilitem novas leituras e percepções. Procura-se defender, inclusive, o potencial político do trabalho de Renata Lucas como contido em estado de latência, no sentido de um potencial a ser desencadeado para o político, tanto pela produção de novos espaços, quanto pela subversão da ordem espacial preestabelecida, assim como pela constituição de uma esfera pública. Conclui-se que os trabalhos artísticos de Renata Lucas contêm muito do estranhamento, da incerteza, da fragmentação, da irrupção. Portanto, desvelar as camadas dos trabalhos da artista possibilita também desvelar camadas subjetivas, não aparentes, aflorar a emergência da "situação na qual estamos imersos". Inferiu-se, com isso, que o trabalho de Renata Lucas concretiza-se na oscilação entre o intrincamento e a fissura, o imiscuir-se e o friccionar / Abstract: The purpose of the thesis "Renata Lucas and the public spaces: intricacy and fissure" is to discuss the collection of the artist¿s works that configure as installations and interventions of space, with emphasis on interventions of the public space. It is assumed that such works consist of specific intricacy of the space with which they deal, and of their configurations as to their political potential. Thus, the objective of the study results from the relationship that the artistic work establishes with the space, whether in its physicalness or its discursiveness. The analysis of the collective works of Renata Lucas, produced between 2001 and 2013, is based on theories in diverse areas (philosophy, anthropology, history, and, fundamentally, on theories in the field of art). By means of distinct interpretations, the aime was to highlight the poetical aspects of the artist: the corporal perception of the spectator/participant in the space; the possibility of interrupting socialities; the attempt to create a friction with the space through the alteration of pre-organized representational codes. An investigation was conducted of the problematics resulting from the intervention in the pre-organized space that permit new interpretations and perceptions. An attempt was also made to defend the political potential of Renata Lucas¿ works as contained in the latent state, in the sense of a potential to be released in its political aspect, as much through the production of new spaces as to the subversion of pre-established spacial order, as well as for the constitution of a public sphere. It is concluded that the artistic works of Renata Lucas contain much of the surprise, the uncertainty, the fragmentation, the irruption. Therefore, uncover the layers of the artist¿s works enables us also to reveal subjective layers, not apparent, to treat the emergence of the "situation in which we are immersed". Trois traductions italiennes de La Princesse de Clèves réalisées en Italie au XXe siècle par des femmes ayant marqué, à des titres divers, la vie littéraire italienne de leur temps constituent le point de départ de notre analyse : en 1933 celle de Sibilla Aleramo, en 1988 celle de Renata Debenedetti et en 1999 celle de Rosetta Loy. L’évolution du contexte historique et socio-culturel ainsi que le statut différent de ces trois femmes permet d’étudier la variation des contraintes de production et des conditions de réception de ces traductions. Le choix de certains passages de l’ouvrage de Mme de Lafayette consent de mettre en relief les caractéristiques principales de ce texte et de comprendre les problèmes traductifs que cela pose. Ce premier roman moderne de la littérature européenne écrit par une femme et publié anonymement ne cesse en effet d’interroger et d’intriguer les femmes écrivains de nombreux siècles plus tard. Le rapport entre traduction et écriture féminine est alors interrogé. La relation entre les choix traductifs et leur personnalité d’écrivain et d’intellectuelle débouche sur l’étude de leurs ouvrages dont les caractéristiques stylistiques et thématiques récurrentes évoquent la notion de féminin dans l’écriture. / Three Italian translations of The Princess of Cleves, made in Italy in the twentieth century by women who marked in various ways the Italian literary life of their time, are the starting point of our analysis: Sibilla Aleramo’s in 1933, Renata Debenedetti’s in 1988 and then Rosetta Loy’s in 1999. The evolution of the historical and sociocultural context as well as the different status of these three women allow us to study the variation of production constraints and reception conditions of these translations. The choice of some extracts from Madame de Lafayette’s novel consents to highlight the main features of the text and understand the translation problems that this arises. This novel, the first in modern European literature written by a woman and published anonymously, continues to question and fascinate women writers many centuries later. The relationship between women's writing and translation is then questioned. Subsequently, the relationship between translation’s choices and their personality of writers and intellectuals leads to the study of their works whose recurring stylistic and thematic characteristics evoke the notion of “feminine writing”.

Previous issue date: 2009 / This work deals with the approach to the treatment of drug addictions and is aimed to evaluate the model of treatment implemented at the Rehabilitation Communities in the State of Ceará, in the framework of the National System of Public Policies – SISNAD, focusing on the analysis of this model in the light of the country´s regulatory framework in effect. The authors discuss the addiction to chemical substances, especially the theoretical content of De León. A quantitative and qualitative approach was applied to the study of three Rehab Communities working in partnership with the Secretary of Health of the State of Ceará through a social subsidy. Data were collected from 53 participants, including both working professionals and beneficiaries, by means of semi-structured interviews with open and closed questions, and deep interviews with six beneficiaries of the program. The quantitative data were submitted to a descriptive and saturation treatment, using an absolute and relative frequency, a simple table and indicators. The qualitative data were analyzed by the discursive analysis technique. We found that there was a change in the perception of the drug user and that only after such change occurs, i.e. when they are seen as patients and not as outlaws, the need for the public authorities to take care of them was put in place. We consider that although this policy is undoubtedly a legitimate model of treatment, on the other hand it is far from being considered a right to healthcare as provided by the Federal Constitution. We have concluded as well that drug addiction can be found in every social class and that such addiction starts with the use of licit drugs or marijuana, even though the very existence of such addiction is only acknowledged by most people when the addict begins to use crack. Furthermore, this model of treatment, in the eyes of both the professionals and drug addicts, meets their needs due to the fact that it is a self-help model and one that offers a community experience. This study showed that even in the absence of a public intervention the Community Rehab centers understand their goals and mission, thus getting close to the standard model. / Este trabalho trata sobre uma abordagem para dependência química. A pesquisa objetiva avaliar o modelo de tratamento em Comunidade Terapêutica no estado do Ceará em interface com o Sistema Nacional de Políticas Públicas - SISNAD, tomando como eixo de análise a aproximação deste modelo com o marco regulatório vigente no país. Tem como marco teórico os autores que discutem e teorizam sobre dependência química e essencialmente o referencial apresentado por De Leon. Foi realizado numa abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, sendo o campo de estudo composto por três Comunidades Terapêuticas que mantêm parceria com a Secretaria de Saúde do Estado Ceará através de subvenção social. Os dados foram colhidos com a participação de 53 atores, incluindo profissionais e beneficiários, utilizando-se instrumentos de entrevistas semiestruturada com perguntas abertas e fechadas, entrevistas em profundidade com seis usuários do programa. Os dados quantitativos foram submetidos a tratamento descritivo e saturação, usando freqüência absoluta e relativa, tabela simples e indicadores de referência. Os qualitativos foram abordados com técnica de análises discursivas. Observamos que houve uma mudança na percepção do usuário de drogas e que só a partir deste reconhecimento, quando passaram a ser vistos como doentes e não como marginais, foi sendo colocada em pauta a necessidade de atenção pelo poder público. Consideramos que enquanto política pública indiscutivelmente este modelo de tratamento é legítimo, por outro lado, está longe do reconhecimento de ser um direito e da universalização previsto na Constituição Federal. Outra conclusão que chegamos foi que a dependência química atinge todas as classes sociais e que o adoecimento inicia com o uso de drogas lícitas ou maconha, contudo, a percepção que a doença está instalada, na grande maioria só é reconhecida quando chegam ao CracK. E ainda, para os dependentes químicos e profissionais, este modelo de tratamento responde as suas necessidades por ser um modelo de auto-ajuda e de vivência comunitária. O estudo destas Comunidades Terapêuticas revelou-nos que mesmo com a ausência estatal, essas instituições compreendem seus objetivos e missão, aproximando-se do modelo padrão.
