A Domain-Specific Language for Traceability in ModelingRahman, Anisur January 2013 (has links)
Requirements are a key aspect of software development. Requirements are also related with other software artefacts including designs, test cases and documentation. These artefacts are often captured with specialized models. However, many tools lack support for traceability relationships between requirements artefacts and model artefacts, leading to analysis issues. To establish traceability between models and other types of requirements artefacts, this thesis proposes a new Domain-Specific Language (DSL) for describing the concepts of a modeling language that would be intended to be traced using a Requirements Management System (RMS), with tool support handling the evolution of models and of their traceability links.
In the first part of this thesis, the syntax and metamodel of the Model Traceability DSL (MT-DSL) are defined, together with an editor implemented using Xtext. In the second part of the thesis, a library of import and maintenance functions is generated automatically (using Xtend) from model traceability descriptions written using MT-DSL. The target language for this library is the DOORS eXtension Language (DXL), the scripting language of a leading commercial RMS with traceability support, namely IBM Rational DOORS.
The implementation has been tested successfully for importing and evolution scenarios with two different modeling languages (User Requirements Notation and Finite State Machines).
This work hence contributes a reliable mechanism to define and support traceability between requirements and models.

Vibrace valivých ložisek / Vibration of rolling bearingOtoupalík, Jan January 2013 (has links)
The thesis deals with vibrations caused by geometric defect and fatigue damage of rolling element bearing. Hardware for vibration measurement is tested on 25 new pieces of NJ 304. Second part of the thesis examines if measuring of bearing vibration can help to detect a geometric defect. Geometric defects are detected according to a spectrum of vibration but the results are not absolutely exact. The possibility to detect geometric defects by measuring vibration has not been proven. The end of project tests diagnostic methods for rolling element bearings. The bearing defect was simulated to demonstrate bearing failure frequencies, envelope method and vibration spectrum.

Simulation-based multiobjective optimization and availability analysis of reconfigurable manufacturing systemsDel Riego Navarro, Andrés, Rico Pérez, Álvaro January 2021 (has links)
Due to the changes and improvements that have occurred over the years, the manufacturing sector has evolved. Companies in the 21st-century face changes in the marketplace that are difficult to predict due to international competition and the rapid emergence of new products. To cope, companies must reinvent themselves and design manufacturing systems that seek to produce quality and low-cost products, and respond to the changes that must be faced. These capabilities are encompassed in reconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMS), capable of dealing with uncertainties quickly and economically. On the other hand, production planning with this type of system presents a significant challenge. Although simulation-based optimization techniques have been applied to address certain RMS challenges, only a few studies have applied simulation-based multi-objective optimization to simultaneously address several conflicting design objectives, as is the case in this project. This project aims to investigate some aspects using SBMO that directly affect the performance of a plant and demonstrate the usefulness of the method. / <p>Det finns övrigt digitalt material (t.ex. film-, bild- eller ljudfiler) eller modeller/artefakter tillhörande examensarbetet som ska skickas till arkivet.</p>

Efficient Computation of Electrostatic Interactions in Particle Systems Based on Nonequispaced Fast Fourier TransformsNestler, Franziska 27 August 2018 (has links)
The present thesis is dedicated to the efficient computation of electrostatic interactions in particle systems, which is of great importance in the field of molecular dynamics simulations. In order to compute the therefor required physical quantities with only O(N log N) arithmetic operations, so called particle-mesh methods make use of the well-known Ewald summation approach and the fast Fourier transform (FFT). Typically, such methods are able to handle systems of point charges subject to periodic boundary conditions in all spatial directions. However, periodicity is not always desired in all three dimensions and, moreover, also interactions to dipoles play an important role in many applications.
Within the scope of the present work, we consider the particle-particle NFFT method (P²NFFT), a particle-mesh approach based on the fast Fourier transform for nonequispaced data (NFFT). An extension of this method for mixed periodic as well as open boundary conditions is presented. Furthermore, the method is appropriately modified in order to treat particle systems containing both charges and dipoles. Consequently, an efficient algorithm for mixed charge-dipole systems, that additionally allows a unified handling of various types of periodic boundary conditions, is presented for the first time. Appropriate error estimates as well as parameter tuning strategies are developed and verified by numerical examples.

Thin films with high surface roughness: thickness and dielectric function analysis using spectroscopic ellipsometryLehmann, Daniel, Seidel, Falko, Zahn, Dietrich R.T. 06 March 2014 (has links)
An optical surface roughness model is presented, which allows a reliable determination of the dielectric function of thin films with high surface roughnesses of more than 10 nm peak to valley distance by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry. Starting from histogram evaluation of atomic force microscopy (AFM) topography measurements a specific roughness layer (RL) model was developed for an organic thin film grown in vacuum which is well suited as an example. Theoretical description based on counting statistics allows generalizing the RL model developed to be used for all non-conducting materials. Finally, a direct input of root mean square (RMS) values found by AFM measurements into the proposed model is presented, which is important for complex ellipsometric evaluation models where a reduction of the amount of unknown parameters can be crucial. Exemplarily, the evaluation of a N,N’-dimethoxyethyl-3,4,9,10-perylene-tetracarboxylic-diimide (DiMethoxyethyl-PTCDI) film is presented, which exhibits a very high surface roughness, i.e. showing no homogeneous film at all.
