This Master's thesis describes the development and current situation of tourism in each of the world's regions. It focuses mainly on the Asia-Pacific region as this region experiences an unprecedented growth both economic and also of international tourist arrivals. Each region is described according to the official division of world's regions by the United Nations World Tourism Organization UNWTO. The Asia-Pacific region is currently the second most visited region after Europe and it's share is constantly growing. This thesis mentions also the main factors that lead to this expansion. There is also a prediction of the development of the world tourism to the year 2030.

This dissertation deals with the visual perception of the destination types of the Czech Republic used for tourism purposes. Methods of quantitative content analysis, questionnaire containing visual method, eye tracking and Q-method are used to identify the crucial factors that affect the perception of the destination types and visualized persons. Analysis of these factors is conducted. Analysis of destination types characteristic for the Czech Republic results in the abstraction of recommendations that may be used mostly in the management of the destination types.

This thesis deals with evaluation of perception of forest paths for cycling, known as singletrack, located in the village called Jedovnice. In the first part, the concepts of terms such as tourism, cycletourism and singletrack are explained. The application of marketing tools is examined on the example of the project Singletrail Moravian Karst. The thesis also describes the implementation and results of the individual marketing tools. The results were processed on the basis of a questionnaire survey among visitors of forest trails of Singletrail Moravian Karst for comparison also among students and employees of Mendel University in Brno.

Spain currently represents one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Tourism is its important economic sector that is strongly reflected in the Spanish economy. Therefore an apparent interest could be noticed in maintain Spain competitive in the field of tourism not only in Mediterranean destinations but Europe-wide or world-wide as well. To understand the current state of tourism in this country it is neccessary to result from historical context and understand the current problems and their causes well by thus. Spanish competent institutions do realise this and new products and forms of tourism are being conswquently expanded now. Another impulse is a change of motivation of participants, which could be designated as being different in the 21st century. Consequently the traditional forms of tourism are insufficient to meet their needs. Especially the mainland of Spain is diverse and the great conditions for creating new forms of tourism ? cultural, rural, sports, business ? could be found there. Genius Loci and its Role in Tourism Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis is to explain the issue of genius loci, both generally and in the context of tourism. The methodology lies in the study of available literature. The interest in this theme is an appropriate response to current trends in the focus of the geography of tourism. Other objectives were defined in order to determine the position of genius loci in geographical research and its role in tourism. The diploma thesis is theoretically framed by humanistic geography (the concept of place introduction) and by the geography of tourism (the concept of sustainable development, psychological and sociological aspects of tourism). The case study demonstrates how genius loci is screened in three different types of tourism destinations - in Deštné v Orlických horách, in Litomyšl and in Potštejn - and how is perceived by local residents. The main aim of this work was comparing the supply side of tourism in selected cities (Trebon, Vodnany). After studying the literature was conducted situational analysis that led to the finding of supply of tourism in these cities. The next section was carried out field research in Trebon, who was elected as a city with a diverse range of tourism. In the evaluation of the field investigation and found the results were provided suggestions to improve the current situation in the city and has also designed a product package. The aim of this package is primarily the extension of the current range of supply of destination, increasing its attractiveness and extend visitors' stay in this destination. The package also offers reduced fees for students.
