"Öppna dörren till en värld där berättelserna bor" : En studie av bibliotekariers förhållningssätt till barns läsning och sagostunder / "Open the door to a world where stories live" : A study of librarian's various approaches toward children's reading and storytime programmes

Nyström, Sarah, Oskarsson, Camilla January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to illustrate the various approaches librarian's may have toward children's reading and toward storytime programmes, and also to discuss if and how these different approaches can influence their planning, execution and follow-up of the storytime programme. Eight qualitative interviews were conducted with nine librarian's who work with storytime programmes at public libraries. A model of three approaches toward reading and storytime was used to analyze the results of the interviews. The study found no indications that the librarian's approaches toward reading and storytime affect how they plan, execute or follow-up the storytime programmes. The results indicate that practical factors, such as staffing shortage or lack of time, are far more influential, as well as the personal view of the storytime-giver.

”Sedan hoppas jag att barnen ska lära sig att det är roligt att komma till biblioteket” : En kvalitativstudie om fyra sagoläsares syn på sagostunden somlitteratur- och biblioteksfrämjande / ”Then I hope the children will learn that it is fun tocome to the library”- : A qualitative study about fourstory-tellers view of the story-time as promotingliterature and libraries

Lundgren, Helene January 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to find out how storytellersat the public library use the story-time topromote literature and libraries. Story-tellers ownpersonality and their own meaning of stories canaffect the story-time and the visitors view ofliterature and the library. Studies also show that agood story-time can affect the visitors which supportthe libraries in a positive way. Jofrid KarnerSmidt’s theory is used to analyze and discuss theresults. Four qualitative interviews are made withstory-tellers at public libraries. The results in thisthesis indicate that story-tellers are competent storytellersand distinguished promoters of literature andlibraries. Unfortunately the time the story-tellershave for doing the story-time as qualitative as theylike is not enough.

Högläsningsvanor - hur och varför? : Hur ser högläsningspraktikerna ut för föräldrar och barnbibliotekarier / Reading aloud - how and why? : A survey of practitioner around reading aloud among parents and children´s librarians

Sjösten Lilja, Åsa January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the practitioner around reading aloud among parents and children’s librarians. The questions I have been working with is how does the parents habits around reading aloud looks like and why they do it, and how does children´s librarians work with reading aloud and why. The method I have been working with are interviews, both with parents how have children in the age of one to five years old and children´s librarians how works with children in the same age. In my analysis did I use a socio-cultural perspective and also a model made of Dominikovic which describes the interaction between an adult and a child in a reading aloud situation. The result of my survey showed that the parents I was interviewed was reading aloud to their children almost every day, in my opinion are the parents not aware of all the advantages the reading aloud will give their children, they see it more like a tradition they want to give their children. The children´s librarians have a more stated purpose with their activities around reading aloud and that is mainly language development.

Sagostundens tidlösa rum? : En litteraturanalys av metodhandboken Magiska Fingrar: sagostunder för dagens barn

Fridlund, Lina January 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this two years master´s thesis in Archive, Library and Information Museum science is to examine the ideas about children and childhood which have an influence on the storytime at public libraries. The material on which this thesis is based, is a methodbook which is aimed to develop the storytimes and those picture books that are recommend in the methodbook. The theoretical points of departure are discourse analysis and childhood sociology. The concepts of being and becoming are frequently used when analyzing the methodbook. Other theoretical points of departure are the combination of narratologi, semiotics and hermeneutics, which are also used when analyzing the picture books. The result indicates that the storytime, recommended in the methodbook, is based on the idea of a timeless culture of childhood - where the "modern child" including the media used today - is left out. Concepts as nostalgia and pedagogy are tightly connected. The childhood as it appears in the storytime is a locked pedagogical room.
