Římské lázně a saunový svět. / Roman spa - sauna world

Horbalová, Lenka January 2013 (has links)
The subject of this dissertation thesis is the architectural study of a wellness center inspired with the Roman baths and sauna´s world. Wellness center is the part of the aqua park called ,, The Water World“ situated nearby the Brněnská přehrada, the area of Rakovec. The disposition of a wellness center is solved with usage of open way of distribution according to the types of zones. Design of colours and use materials evokes the relaxing atmosphere.

Sportovně relaxační centrum / Sports and Relaxation Centre

Flodrová, Helena January 2015 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with new building sports and relaxation centre. Building is situated near Masaryk university campus in Brno-Bohunice. The building is two-storey, without cellar, set in a slightly sloping terrain at the back of the street Netroufalky. The building has two movement units. One unit contains sports hall and squash court and second unit contains cloakrooms, wellness part and administration. Structural system is cast-in-place concrete with masonry external wall of Porotherm. Internal wall are also from Porotherm. Sports hall with parabolic arch has steel structural system, that isn´t part of project. Curtain wall is covered with lamella Kalzip. Next to the building is parking place for clients.

Detections of nuclear explosions by triple coincidence

Akser, Marielle January 2021 (has links)
When a nuclear explosion occurs certain radionuclides are emitted, notably xenon. Due to the fact that xenon is a noble gas, it is hard to contain and can therefore be detected far from the explosion site. There are four isotopes of xenon that are of interest in the detection of a nuclear explosion: 131mXe, 133mXe, 133Xe and 135Xe. By constantly measuring the amount of these isotopes in the air, changes in the concentration in an indication that a nuclear explosion has occurred. In this thesis a detector was modelled in GEANT4 and focuses on one kind of noble gas detector: SAUNA - the Swedish Automatic Unit for Noble gas Acquisition. SAUNA uses the coincidence technique in order to determine the concentration of xenon there is in the air. By using the coincidence technique, it is possible to reduce the impact of the background radiation and therefore increase the efficiency of the detector. 133Xe has a coincidence when it first undergoes beta decay, with an endpoint energy of 346 keV, and then emits a 80 keV gamma particle. 135Xe has also a dual coincidence, a beta decay with an endpoint energy of 910 keV together with a 250 keV gamma-ray. However both these isotopes have a triple coincidence decay that also can be exploited: for 133Xe, a beta particle with endpoint energy of 346 keV, a 30 keV X-ray and a 45 keV conversion electron, while for 135Xe there is instead of the gamma particle a 30 keV X-ray and a 214keV conversion electron that can be emitted together with the beta particle. The 30 keV X-ray together with the beta particle for 133Xe can also be used as a dual coincidence, in that case the conversion electron is ignored. For 133Xe, when a beta particle, a 45 keV conversion electron, and a 30 keV X-ray are emitted, the model was able to detect all three particles in 69.2% ± 0.1 of the cases. However, when only the particles with a detected energy within a 5 keV interval of their generated energies are considered to be in coincidence, then for 133Xe triple coincidence occurs in 22.9% ± 0.2 of the cases. For 135Xe the model was able to detect the triple coincidence (between a beta, 214 keV CE and 30 keV X-ray) in 63.5% ± 0.1 of the cases. This work shows that adding another particle in a coincidence reduces the chance to detect the coincidence. The positive effect of adding another particle in a coincidence is that the minimum detectable concentration of xenon should be smaller. The goal for future detectors should be to make it possible for the detector to take advantage of the triple coincidences but at the same time be also able to use the dual coincidences.

Skogsfinnarna i arkiven : En undersökning om spåren av skogsfinnarna i de digitaliserade arkiven

Ekman, Sarah January 2023 (has links)
Since the year of 1580 until about the year of 1680 Forest Finns have immigrated to a large part of middle Sweden working mainly with burn-beating but also with cattle raising, hunting and fishing. There have been studies made for quite some time about the Forest Finns family names, last names and location names and also about their food culture, craftsmanship and building constructions. Still there hasn´t seen to be any research about how you can use the digitized archives for further research about Forest Finns and this is where I’ve found an interesting research gap to explore further. This essay has been delimited to the areas of Dalby, Norra Ny and Gräsmark based on Carl Axel Gottlund´s notes on the forest Finnish family names that he recorded in the household records in 1821 within the given area. After this study, it has become clear that the vast majority of sites with forest Finnish settlements contain both Finnish family names and Finnish place names. The vast majority of the sites also had croft remains and stone wall cairns. It has also become clear during this study that the remains of farm buildings can be found at several of these sites. Remains of mills have also been found at several sites while only a few of the sites investigated had a sauna or ria. Barns are also less common on the sites, as are carvings and natural formations. To summarise, the house interrogation lists in the church books that Carl Axel Gottlund has recorded can provide information about the Forest Finnish family names the families have had, and which Forest Finnish place names exist in the area. But the information can also be used to calculate how much of the population in these areas had Forest Finnish roots and how they chose to settle in the areas. the traces of the Forest Finns in the material remains or other cultural heritage remains can give us more information about the building skills of the Forest Finns but also more information about their cultural heritage and living conditions.

Římské lázně a saunový svět / Roman spa and sauna world

Máslová, Jana January 2014 (has links)
The building of Roman Baths and sauna world forms, along with a formerly-designed waterpark, a stand-alone recreational and sports compound in the vicinity of “Růžena's” quarry and the former “Hády” quarry in Brno. The mass of the object is nearly cubic, and in the cross direction it is complemented with an external atrium, with swimming pools situated next to the central glass-fronted part of the object. This bright space functions as a place of relaxation and offers a view of the city of Brno. The view and solar energy have been used in the south-western part as well, where a two-floor glass front has been designed. On the facades of the object there are narrow vertical windows which create an effect of dripping water. The primary architectonic plan has been to create an object offering relaxation, originated in the principles and traditions of Ancient Roman bathing, complemented with a sauna world and further related relaxation establishments.
