A Sauna house in Helsinki

Guo, Cong 04 February 2016 (has links)
What is a serene place? What is serenity? While we have a common understanding of the term, its connection to architecture is almost directly operational, if we look at the Latin meaning of fair and above all clear. What makes a place serene? Clarity of plan and fairing of walls, floors and ceilings, generally all surfaces, should provide an environment conducive to the mental, emotional state of serenity. What kind of moment could possibly ease people's mind? To be in peace, in place, at rest in such an environment should be the proper condition for a human being to let go of stresses and find, even if only temporarily, peace of mind. People's mind is like a receiver. The receptive mind will perceive such qualities in the environment and chances are that its response will be in concert with the intentions of the architect. With these thoughts on my mind, I start to imagine a sauna house in the city of Helsinki by means of designing certain moments constructed by the interreaction of physical elements and approach its design as stated above, in this case with clear and fair form, light, material and temperature. These elements, work together to create a space that can be pictured and memorized by visitors visually and in all other ways sensibly absorbed and will create a lasting memory of a period of tranquility and serenity. / Master of Architecture

Mobil Bastu

Berg, Joakim, Skog, Per Øyvind January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is an addition to pictures and animation that has been developed using CATIA V5. The animation and the images are a market basis to test whether the product is of interest in the Nordic market. The thesis is structured with elements of the Fredy Olsson method. In this thesis there is also a short presentation of the company Tylö AB, which been chosen to market test the product. A product definition with the sub-headings; “Description and use of product”, “Environmentand users”, “Economy” and “Product inquiry”, are the basis for the product. A list of criteria with conditions and requirements is established. These criteria are then weighted in a matrix. Product ideas are evaluated using the matrix. After defining the criteria and evaluation, a profile is created with a track where woodenpanels and insulation can be fixed upon. This is followed by a design specification which explains details of every component in the product. With this description belongs a matrix in which the product components are classified as finished and special units and also if these require routine or special treatment. Execution of rendering and animation are explained and results are shown with rendered images. The report concludes with a brief conclusion, critical review and suggestions for further work.

Costos de la calidad de servicio al cliente para mejorar la rentabilidad en el Sauna Buena Vida EIRL, Chiclayo 2016

Fernández Heredia, Gianela Paola January 2017 (has links)
Tesis

The Beauty of Repairing and the Human Body : Re-visioning Rituals Through Artificial Intelligence

Forsman, Emilia January 2023 (has links)
This thesis raises discussion about the importance of repairing, new urban meeting places and the use of artificial intelligence. Using AI as a tool, I have re-visioned rituals around taking care of ourselves and our objects. When we give a lot of value to the repeated habits of repairing ourselves and our objects, they become like rituals to us, containing a deeper meaning in our lives. The physical context of my project is in the Örnsberg industrial area in Stockholm, at the address Instrumentvägen 21. This area was established in 1938 and still now a lot of carpenters and other kind of industries are located there. For this reason it serves as a natural place to build an urban community dedicated for repairing and sharing knowledge.  During my process I have tested new visual artificial intelligence tools that emerged during the past year. I have aimed to find out how we as designers could use AI as a tool to help us in our work and to also find the parts in the process where human intelligence is irreplaceable. Since AI in the current extent is new and there are a lot of questions hanging around it, it is important that us designers try to understand it already now already in its early stages. This thesis is my starting point on that path.
