Přikrylová, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
Title: Effect of climbing activity on somatic and fitness characteristics in youth. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to assess the effect of climbing activity on fitness (upper body strength) and somatic (body composition) changes in youth in real conditions. Methods: We had 91 children participating in this study, who were attending climbing course in the climbing center Praha Ruzyně. Their age was 10,4 ± 3,0 years in average and their climbing ability was on UIAA scale from 4 th to 7 th degree. We detected information about age, climbing experience, and actual climbing performance. Furthermore, we measured height, weight and body composition and we used the tests for measuring upper body strength: hand grip, bent-arm hang and finger hang. Results: Dependence between strength tests (average of three measurements) and climbing level of RP (UIAA) was not statistically confirmed. There was not found the influence of climbed meters to changes in each tests of strength. There was no change in the grip strength test in average, during the exercise intervention. In the bent-arm hang test and the finger hang test, there were significant changes that were not depending on climbing experience of children. Conclusions: In this study was not confirmed any of the above hypotheses. However, it was found...

Dubová, Kristýna January 2019 (has links)
The target of my thesis is to find out the level of physical abilities of younger school boys who are active in floorball. I tested the level of motor abilities using the Unifittest (6-60) and the Holistic Motor Test. I did the testing in the floorball club called Start 98 Prague, where I tested 62 players. I compared the level of motor abilities with the general population. I also wanted to find out how big the differences will be with the players who are divided by performance. The research section shows that the players have achieved the best results in their strengths tests. Furthermore, it turned out that the worst achievements were obtained by the players in agility tests. Average results were obtained by the players during their speed skills tests. A experiência de sofrimento: histórias narradas pela criança doente / The experience of suffering: narrative stories by the sick child

Vasques, Raquel Candido Ylamas 18 May 2007 (has links)
Oferecer oportunidades para que a criança possa se expressar a fim de tornar o sofrimento suportável é obrigação da enfermagem / While working with individuals and their families, nurses have the oportunity to stimulate them and testify to some stories of suffering. Therefore, it is important to identify the suffering in order to relieve it. Suffering is a singular experience that frequentily brings isolation and alienation from others; it also represents a life experience where anguish, sadness, loss and unwanted and unpredictable changes must be endured. Within the context of sickness it is necessary to speak of suffering. Hospitalization is responsible for numerous sources of suffering. The aim of this study is to understand the experience of suffering of school-age children while sick and hospitalized. The study used the Narrative inquiry as a methodological approach and is based on the Model of Suffering, from Morse and Carter, as a theoretical reference. The authors describe the Model in terms of two diferent states of behavior: enduring and suffering. Using 14 narratives of sick and hospitalized children, it was possible to learn about the events of the hospital, that compose the experience of suffering of the child. These events are considered new and significant, bringing many restrictions to their lives, causing loss and then determining the context of their experience. The experience of the child is represented by five categories: KNOWING THE SUFFERING CAUSED BY THE DESEASE, is the evidence of becoming aware of the sickness, how to start this new process in theirs lives, adjust to the changes of day-to-day activities, as the disease is evidently the cause of discomfort, and hospitalization. ENDURING IN ORDER TO SURVIVE THE EXPERIENCE OF SICKNESS, is when the child is hospitalized and realises that their integrity is threatened and resist the experience without showing their feelings. RELAXING FROM ENDURING IN ORDER TO FREE THEIR EMOTIONS, is when the child’s energy is depleted, representing the moments in which the child cries uncontrollably, acting with protest, expressing their frustration. LIVING THE SUFFERING, is when the child understands the disease and the fact that the treatment is the means of which the child may leave the hospital, but it does not mean that they accept being sick. FLOATING BETWEEN ENDURING AND SUFFERING, is when the child do not go through the experience without living moments of enduring and others of deep suffering. Therefore, the suffering or enduring of the child is determined by the context of the experience and by the support or interaction that surrounds them. To offer the child oportunities to express themselves in order to make the suffering bearable is an obligation of nursing

Exposição ao álcool na gestação e sintomas psiquiátricos na idade escolar / Prenatal alcohol exposure and psychiatric symptoms in school-age children.

Angelucci, Mateus Andrea 04 October 2010 (has links)
Prenatal exposure to drugs of abuse has been a concern worldwide regarding mother and child health. Prenatal alcohol exposure is one of the main risk factors for mental retardation, congenital defects and neurodevelopmental disorders, namely Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Effects. Many authors found associations between prenatal exposure to alcohol and psychiatric symptoms in childhood. This study has a cross-sectional design and is aimed to investigate the relationships between prenatal alcohol exposure and psychiatric symptoms in school-age children Fifty-nine mothers and their children were enrolled. The mothers answered to the Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL), a semi-structured interview (K-SADS-PL) and a general social, demographic and health questionnaire. Prenatal alcohol consumption information was obtained from a previous study on the same individuals. We found a higher prevalence of isolated CBCL symptoms among children born from mothers with prenatal weekly alcohol consumption pattern. Additionally, we found a higher prevalence of psychiatric diagnoses (K-SADS-PL) among children born from mothers with prenatal weekly alcohol consumption pattern. Those results emphasize the need for new studies to clarify how environmental, genetical and psychological factos may contribute to the genesis of childhood psychopathology. Besides, this study reinforces the importance of developing a national alcohol prevention program for pregnant women.
