The fast growing bandwidth has made the development of cloud storage. More and more resource has put in cloud storage. In this thesis, we proposed a new cloud storage that consists of a single main server and multiple data servers. The main server controls system-wide activities such as data server management. It also periodically communicates with each data server and collects its state. Data servers store data on local disks as Windows files. In order to response to the large number of data access, Selection of the server which is necessary to offer equalized performance. In this paper, we propose a server selection algorithm using different parameters to get the performance metrics which enables us to balance multi-resource from server-side. We design new cloud storage and implement the algorithm. According to upload experiment, the difference between the maximum and the minimum free space when using our algorithm is less than 5GB. But using the random mode, the free space difference is increased as time, and the maximum is 30GB. In the mixed experiment, we added the download mode, and our algorithm is fewer than 10GB. The result of the random mode approximated to the first experiment. Finally, our algorithm obtains 10% and 3% speedup in upload throughput by upload experiment and mixed experiment, 10% speedup in download throughput by mixed experiment.

In recent years, the requirement for embedded controllers has been steadily on the increase due to the development of computers, communication ,WWW and consumers¡¦ products. Consequently, integration and application of the embedded system and the World-Wide Web become more and more important. The Web-based embedded system developed in this paper tends build a service of micro web server. By this service, users can not only receive the information from the system via the browser, but also design particular processes for themselves. Besides, the system developer can use the most popular tools to edit the page for the Web-based embedded system. This Web service technology offers an operational interface, which is user-friendly, and cost effective with the capability of cross-platform and TCP/IP transmission. The presented achievement is applied to temperature control system for performance evaluation of remote control.

The forwarding delay and throughput of a proxy server play significant role in the overall network performance. It is widely known that the forwarding delay of proxy¡¦s application layer is much larger than that of lower layers. This is because for a general purpose operating system, the receiving or sending data in application layer needs to move data through the TCP/IP stack and also cross the user/kernel protection boundaries. TCP Splice can forward data directly in TCP layer without going up to the application layer. This can be achieved by modifying the packet headers of one TCP connection from the original server to the proxy so that the TCP connection can be seamlessly connected to another TCP connection from the proxy to the client. To maintain the caching ability of proxy, TCP Tap can duplicate packets before they are forwarded by TCP Splice. The duplicated packets are copied into a tap buffer, so the application layer can read data from the tap buffer. We fully utilize the original TCP receive queue as the tap buffer and allow application layer to read data as usual. We chose Linux as the platform for experiment. The TCP Splice and Tap are implemented as Linux modules. Finally, we develop an HTTP proxy to test and verify our implementation. It is shown that the performance of proxy in terms of lower forwarding delay, higher throughput, and increased CPU utilization, can be improved significantly.

Die sächsischen Hochschulbibliotheken verfügten bisher nur über eigene, auf die jeweilige Einrichtung beschränkte Hochschulschriftenserver. Qucosa, das der kostenlosen Publikation und dauerhaften Archivierung von elektronischen Diplomarbeiten, Dissertationen und anderen Veröffentlichungen dient, eröffnet den sächsischen Hochschulbibliotheken neue Perspektiven und bildet eines der Elemente einer „Digitalen Bibliothek“ in Sachsen. Bereits mehrere sächsische Hochschulen und Forschungsinstitute benutzen Qucosa zur Publizierung der eigenen Forschungsergebnisse. Auch nichtwissenschaftliche, staatliche Einrichtungen werden zukünftig ihre Schriften auf Qucosa im Volltext anbieten.

<p>Den ostrukturerade dokumenthantering, som idag förekommer på avdelningen Ida på företaget SMHI, gav upphov till detta examensarbete. </p><p>Ett dokumenthanteringssystem har införskaffats till avdelningen. Dokumenthanteringssystemet är en produkt från Microsoft med namnet SharePoint Portal Server (SPS), vilken levererats av WM-data. SPS är relativt ny på marknaden, vilket gör att erfarenheter saknas kring produkten. </p><p>Syftet med dokumenthanteringssystemet är att samla alla dokument på samma plats, vilket gör dem lätt tillgängliga för alla berörda. Förhoppningsvis kommer införandet av ett dokumenthanteringssystem också att innebära att belastningen på övriga filtjänster minskar. </p><p>Examensarbetet bestod i att göra ett förslag till både dokumentstruktur och metadata, som senare skulle implementeras i SPS. </p><p>Dokumentstrukturen skapades med hänsyn till SMHI:s systemförvaltningsmodell. För att vara säker på att strukturen och metadatan skulle fungera i verkligheten, och inte bara på papperet, genomfördes två pilotsystem. Med hjälp av dessa gjordes några förändringar i både struktur och metadata. </p><p>Dokumenthanteringssystemets alla funktioner har under examensarbetets gång utforskats med hjälp av manualer.Vilka dessa funktioner är och hur de fungerar beskrivs i denna rapport. </p><p>Vid användandet av SPS har en hel del brister upptäckts i programvaran. Bristerna är av större eller mindre betydelse för SMHI:s behov. Dessa har dock anmälts till Microsoft, och man hoppas därmed att de blir åtgärdade till nästa version av SPS. </p><p>Examensarbetet har resulterat i ett förslag till dokumentstruktur och ett förslag till metadata. Förslagen implementerades också i dokumenthanteringssystemet, eftersom tiden medgav detta.</p>

Der Vortrag behandelt die Maßnahmen, die ein Systembetreiber ergreifen kann oder soll, um sich gegen einige der gebräuchlichen Attacken zu wappnen. Es wird die Gratwanderung zwischen der Forderung nach hoher Sicherheit einerseits und voller Funktionalität vieler Internet-Dienste andererseits beschrieben.
