Análise da implantação de projetos Seis Sigma em uma indústria do setor de equipamentos para o agronegócio

Carneiro, Diogo Migotto January 2013 (has links)
This paper presents a proposal of diagnostic and evaluation for an implementation analysis of Six Sigma projects in companies included in a dynamic business environment. These companies develop high technological complexity and variable demand products, which requires constant operations and production changes and adaptations. Consequently the Quality Management System and its programs should be also capable to adapt to those changes. Thus, the main objective of this dissertation is to establish improvement guidelines on Six Sigma program by proposing a reevaluation model to settle this program as part of the problem resolution culture in an agribusiness equipment company. The study is deployed in two articles. The first article establish guidelines based on a preliminary literature review, followed by a diagnostic about the main critical success factors to implement Six Sigma programs in a selected case. With this information, the diagnostic results were compiled in problems categories and compared with literature available solutions, making it possible to establish guidelines to improve Six Sigma projects for the selected case. The second article presents a literature analysis about the implementation of Six Sigma projects, traditional projects and Agile projects management. After that, the Six Sigma main problems found in the case study were identified. Based on solutions found in the literature, it was possible to define a Six Sigma project analysis and implementation model for this case, in order to minimize or eliminate the identified problems.

ALL-OPTICAL DELTA-SIGMA MODULATOR DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION

TAFAZOLI MEHRJERDI, MOHAMAD 01 December 2015 (has links) (PDF)
In this research an approach to design and implement all-optical delta-sigma modulator (ODSM) has been expanded. The two main blocks of this modulator are “leaky integrator” and “bi-stable switch” designed and implemented by using active element like semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and other passive elements like optical filter, isolator and coupler. All experiments are done on optical table and proper results achieved. Thus the new bi-stable switch is designed and implemented by using “inverted bistable switch” and “non-inverted bi-stable switch”. This switch is made by five ring lasers. Right wavelengths have chosen for each ring laser to achieve a novel characteristic called “Proteresis”. All control parameters of this switch was investigated The major impact of this research will be in the area communication system, which need high resolution and fast modulation speed with less noise in their systems.

What are the critical success factors for lean and/or six-sigma implementations in South African banks ?

Latchmiah, Jothilutchmee 12 1900 (has links)
Although most organisations want to improve quality and reduce costs, the deployment and implementation of continuous improvement methodologies is commonly viewed as a daunting journey. Many organisations fail to properly structure and/or support continuous improvement initiatives, which ultimately doom them to failure. South African Banks are not adopting Lean and/or Six-sigma to the point where it is going to make any sort of significant difference to the bottom line over a significantly meaningful period of time. So where are they going wrong? Often it comes down to key issues that are not addressed effectively as part of the deployment. The research objectives are: • The primary objective is to establish what the mission critical success factors for Lean and/or Six-sigma implementation in South African Banking are. • The secondary objective is to define a list of the sources of benefits for Lean and/or Six-sigma implementations in South African Banking. The research questions/problems to be addressed are: • What are the mission critical success factors for Lean and/or Six-sigma implementations in South African Banking? • How do South African Banks prioritise these critical success factors? • How do South African Banks that are already on the Lean and/or Six-sigma journey perform against these critical success factors? • What are the gaps between the importance’s of the critical success factors versus the banks actual performance against these, and how is this gap impacting on the benefits that the banks are experiencing? • What sources of benefits are South African Banks experiencing? • Can generic guidelines be provided to the South African Banks for successful Lean and/or Six-sigma implementation?

iNET Deployment Process: A Case Study

Faulstich, Raymond, Skelley, Daniel, Anderson, Brian 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2009 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Fifth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 26-29, 2009 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / Sponsored by the Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP), the integrated Network Enhanced Telemetry (iNET) project has created a proposed architecture for network enhancing aeronautical telemetry. Given the static nature of the current aeronautical telemetry architecture (it has not significantly changed in over 50 years), it is recognized that iNET must be carefully deployed to avoid test disruptions and safety issues. In support of a smooth transition to this new architecture, the Naval Air Warfare Division Aircraft (NAWCAD) conducted an extensive continuous process improvement project. This paper will describe the process, defined and launched by this study, to assure the safe deployment of iNET.

Design and Implementation of Sigma-Delta Converter : in Oversampling frequency / Design and Implementation of Sigma-Delta Converter in Oversampling frequency

Pan, Yaobin, Li, Xizhuo January 2016 (has links)
Nowadays, Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital converters have been widely used in the technology of analog-to-digital conversion. It depends on the merits that the approach of Sigma-Delta has. The signal converted by oversampling is precise and well-suited in signal processing systems. This thesis mainly focuses on the principles and simulations of fundamental first-order Sigma-Delta converter, and some brief introductions about other Sigma-Delta converters. The main researches of this thesis are as follows: (1)This thesis shows not only the path about development of technology of different ADCs, but also the features and principles of these ADCs and their structures. (2)The thesis discusses how the technologies of oversampling and noise shaping are used in Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital conversion. (3)Illustrate different orders Sigma-Delta converters in different bits and their advantages and disadvantages, respectively. (4)The simulation is given in Matlab(Simulink). Typical first-order SigmaDelta converter is simulated with additional noise which will impact the input signal when implement. / Sigma-Delta Converter

Design and implementation on high-order mismatch-shaped multibit delta-sigma d/a converters

You, Li, 1991 18 September 2014 (has links)
As the rapid evolution in semiconductor technology, transistors’ feature size has reached to 22nm and below, which brings great impact to analog and mixed-signal circuits. As the significant bridge connecting the analog world and digital system, data converter suffers from nonlinearity resulting from mismatch among its unit components. The smaller transistors are, the larger relative mismatch among them becomes. However, using larger transistors leads to more area cost and power consumption. Therefore, researchers have been working hard on how to alleviate the mismatch issue. In recent years, Dynamic Element Matching (DEM) becomes a popular approach that can significantly improve linearity, especially Spurious-free Dynamic Range (SFDR), of a data converter system. The basic idea of DEM is to shuffle the usage pattern of unit elements so that the mismatch error is no longer correlated to the input signal. Thus, DAC’s linearity will be improved. Generally, DEM Nyquist-rate DAC does mismatch scrambling, which smooths distortions resulting from mismatch into white noise. DEM Delta-Sigma DAC does mismatch shaping, which pushes distortions away from the signal band, typically lower frequencies. In this thesis, we focused on mismatch-shaping Delta-Sigma DACs. Two of those various algorithms are implemented logically and physically. With placement and routing information, we got more accurate result on the speed and power dissipation. The comparison shows the tradeoff among number of quantization levels, mismatch-shaping order, and hardware complexity. / text
