Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av våld och hot om våld från vårdtagare : En litteraturstudie / Nurses’ experiences of violence and threats of violence from patientsKennäng, Kristoffer, Eriksson, Anton January 2017 (has links)

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder that brings great changes in every individual's way of living. The goal in diabetes treatment is that the individual will be able to live a normal life, with normal length. To achieve this there is need to avoid complications, both acute and long-term. To be able to do this this the patient need knowledge about the illness and how to adjust pharmacological treatment to diet and exercise. In this, patient education is an important part. The purpose of this literature review was to describe nurse's educational role in preventing long-term complications in lower extremity, diabetic patients. As a theoretical framework, a socioculture perspective of learning has been used. The result showed the importance of adjusting the level of educational content, the tools used in the education and the way the nurse educate. It also showed the importance of creating a good atmosphere and an interaction between nurse and patient. A good interaction leads to good education, where both parties are experts where the only thing differing is the branch of expertise.

The aim of this study was to illuminate how patients with mental illness experience encounters with the nurse in psychiatric care, in order to acquire increased understanding for the patients needs. A litterature study was used to analyse previously published scientific articles within psychiatric nursing care. Content analysis inspired by Graneheim and Lundman was used to perform the analysis. The result showed that the patients recovery depended on the relationship with the nurse. If the relationship was good, the patient was moore likely to regain his mental health, than if the relationship with the nurse was poor. If the nurse was able to take the time for the good conversation, the relationship was moore likely to carry out well. In order to do so, the nurse had to have gained the patients trust. If the nurse had an open attitude and a good dialogue with the patient, he could grow and acquire insight and learn to live with his mental illness. More empirical studies on patients experiences of psychiatric care are needed so that nurses can gain a deeper understanding for how to best meet these patients needs.
