Saldanha, Ricardo Pedrozo January 2012 (has links)
Resultado do Estudo 3: O presente estudo utilizou a mesma amostra do estudo 2. / Values and attitudes of young people playing sport in programs for socially disadvantaged children is the subject of this study. So, were outlined three goals for the thesis that culminated in three studies. Study 1: Translate, test the principles of metric content validity and internal consistency of the Youth Sport Value Questionnaire 2 (YSVQ-2). Study 2: To explore the associations (relationships) between important variables the values of sport (Status, Skill and Morale), motivational climate (the Ego and Task) and attitudes (Pro and antisocial), to assess the validity of the Explanatory Model Attitudes and Values in Sport (MEVAE) of Lee et al. (2008) for youth ages 12 to 19 who play sports in programs for socially disadvantaged children in southern Brazil. Study 3: Testing the inclusion of variable MEVAE Coping in order to contribute to better explain the values and attitudes in youth ages 12 to 19 who play sports in programs for socially disadvantaged children in southern Brazil. The Ethics Committee of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul has reviewed and approved this study under the protocol number 18.193. Results of Study 1: To meet the first objective of the thesis, we initially conducted a translation "double blind". Subsequent to this procedure, three judges evaluators examined the inventory across a range of clarity and relevance. The results (CVCt) were satisfactory, and indicate that IVEJ-2 is valid from the point of view of content validity (CVCt> 0,80). After content validation, a pilot study was conducted and verified the reliability indices Inventory ( Status = 0,711;  Competence = 0,785;  Moral = 0,738). From these findings it was possible to perform the second study of the thesis. Results of Study 2: The sample comprised 1125 young gauchos (nm = 687; nf = 438) aged between 12 and 19 years ( X = 13,80, SD = 0,40), who play sports in programs for socially disadvantaged children. Five instruments were used (QICV; IVEJ-2; PMCSQ-2, QAE-16; 'social desirability'). It was found, from the results, the values are predictors of motivational climate. The association of values with the 'Task Orientation' (OT) represents 19,2% of the variance, whereas with 'Ego Orientation' (OE) was 9,8%. The 'Status Values' (VS) was a predictor of positive and negative OE OT, and the 'Values of Competence' (VC) and 'Moral' (VM) were predictive of positive and negative OE OT. The OT was a positive predictor of 'Pro-Social Attitudes' (23,8% of variance). The OE (positively) and OT (negatively) predict the 'antisocial attitudes' (15,8% of variance). The partial correlations revealed that the influence of VC and VM on 'Pro-Social Attitudes' is mediated by OT (p <0,05) and, on the VS 'antisocial attitudes' by OE positively and negatively by OT (p> 0,05). Results of Study 3: This study used the same sample of study 2. We evaluated in addition to the same variables in the previous study, the variable "Coping". From the inclusion of variables in Coping MEVAE, it was found that the values (VS negatively), the 'Aggressive Actions' (negative β), 'Denial', 'Direct Action' and 'Composure' (positive β) predict Climate OT (23,7% of the variance, p <0,05), whereas the values (VS positive), "aggressive action" and "Reassessment Positive '(positive β) climate OE (11,8% of variance, p <0.05). The OT was a positive predictor of 'Pro-Social Attitudes' (23,8% of the variance, p <0.05). The OE (positively) and OT (negatively) predict the 'antisocial attitudes' (15,8% of variance). The partial correlations revealed that the influence of VC, VM and 'Direct Action' on 'Pro-Social Attitudes' is mediated by OT (p <0,05), and the VS and 'Aggressive Actions' on 'antisocial attitudes' positively and negatively by the OE OT (p> 0,05). It is, from the results obtained in this study that the Coping is a key element to be considered in the context of MEVAE social sport. The results of the three studies (articles) indicate important contributions to elucidate, from MEVAE explanatory model, the relationship of Values, Coping, Motivational Climate and Attitudes of young people who play sports in programs for socially disadvantaged children.

Sustainability today is an important schedule between government policies and regional programs, and more recently has been inserted in the business environment, gradually consolidating in the capital market. In this context, in the last two decades have created various indices of corporate sustainability in order to assess the sustainability performance of companies listed on stock exchanges. In 2005, the Stock Exchange, Commodities and Futures Exchange (BM&F BOVESPA) launched the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) the first in Latin America. This research aims to analyze the social dimension of ISE and identify points of interface with the human development theory of Amartya Sen, using the approach of instrumental freedoms in a microeconomic context. To complement and fill gaps, this research will be used a qualitative approach and non-financial to analyze the social dimension of corporate sustainability index of the Brazilian stock exchange. For this goal to be achieved, the documentary research methods were used in the questionnaire of the social dimension of the ISE, expert panel, which included the participation of five specialists in the field of sustainability of different types of organizations, and content analysis, which it was used to organize the information collected. The main results indicate that: (a) it is possible and coherent to apply the approach of the theory of individual freedoms in a microeconomic context; (b) corporate sustainability indices clearly demonstrate further gains for financial gain; (c) a better performance in the social dimension provides some intangible gains for companies; (d) the importance of the area of sustainability in business as well as its integration with other areas involved; and (e) the freedoms and stakeholders most cited were respectively: (i) transparency guarantees (33.3%) and political freedom (30%); (ii) business (100%), employees (83%) and government (67%). The results obtained in this study allowed a series of analyzes on the ISE BM&FBOVESPA focusing on the social dimension, paving the way for future research.

Kriminalita a delkvence mládeže na základních školách v okrese Klatovy / Crime and juvenile delinquency in basic schools in the Klatovy District.

BLÁHOVÁ, Václava January 2009 (has links)
This dissertation looks at crime and juvenile delinquency in basic schools in the Klatovy District. The theoretical section gives a concise appraisal of Act No. 218/2003 Coll., on Juvenile Justice, as well as the internal and external factors potentially influencing the socially pathological behaviour of young people. The study examines current patterns of youth criminality in the Czech Republic and developing trends connected with the issue over recent years, which it then briefly compares to the wider EU experience. The possibilities for intervention work by government departments dealing with education, the police and the justice system with young people at risk is studied in the subsequent chapter. The overall aim of the dissertation is to map the occurrence of predominantly minor offences and juvenile delinquency at basic schools in the Klatovy District in terms of gender, as I suspect that this indicator will feature strongly in the structure of socially pathological youth behaviour. Research was used to determine young people{\crq}s awareness regarding liability for their actions, and what kinds of offences or delinquent activities they most frequently perpetrate. An anonymous questionnaire with 32 closed, half-open and open format questions was used to collect data, and was presented to 303 respondents in years 7, 8 and 9 at five different basic schools. Of the total number of students, 49% were female and 51% male. Schools were deliberately chosen to fulfil the task set by the dissertation, i.e. the question of gender was a primary concern. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out what kinds of socially pathological activities are perpetrated by youths at basic school, and based on the subsequent findings, to decide whether current intervention work with young people at risk in the Klatovy District is sufficient. The research itself corresponds in several areas with data available from the Youth Crime Prevention Officer. In particular, it confirms that delinquency often involves driving motor vehicles without driving licences and the consumption of alcohol. The survey investigation demonstrated young people{\crq}s ignorance of the various age thresholds of criminal liability for their actions, the ascendancy of petty theft, aggression towards classmates and the consumption of illegal drugs. The research points to the conclusion that intervention and work with these groups of young people at risk in the Klatovy District, in terms of preventing illegal drug use and therapy, is insufficient, which similarly applies to the prevention of petty theft, consumption of alcohol, bullying and driving without a valid licence. The elimination of such pathological behaviour will only be successful provided that closer contact is established between school students and prevention workers (school psychologists, counsellors, etc.), as well as other potential organisations, such as the Czech Police, anti-drug co-ordinators and social workers.

Vývojové tendence kriminality dětí a mládeže v klatovském okrese / Juvenile crime developmental tendencies in Klatovy district

DUSPIVOVÁ, Jana January 2009 (has links)
My thesis deals with the very complicated topic of juvenile crime. The circumstances that result in socially pathological phenomenons and crime are now-days relatively easy to happen. The questions of juvenile crime are more frequently discussed not only by the scientists but also by the general public. The goal of my thesis is to outline the problems of the juvenile crime development in the district Klatovy and to use the acquired information in crime prevention and to focus the care on difficult individuals. In the theoretical part, the thesis presents the development of juvenile crime in the Czech Republic and factors that shape and influence it. The practical part of my thesis describes the performed research that is a type of quantitative research from the sociological point of view. The method of questioning, the method of data secondary analysis and the method of model casuistics were used. The targeted group is represented by children and adolescents living in the district Klatovy. The respondents´ principal residence in Klatovy district and the age under 18 are the main criteria of categorization. All respondents were chosen with the method of random stratification. The research was held from January to March of the year 2009. Following hypothesis were determined: Hypothesis 1: The rate of juvenile crime is higher in towns than in villages. Hypothesis 2: Socially pathological features are side-effects of the juvenile crime. Hypothesis 3: Child crime in the district Klatovy is ascending in comparison to adolescent crime in the district Klatovy. I believe that all three hypotheses were confirmed. Based on the OSPOD (Department for juvenile care) reports we can assume that there is na increase in educational problems and subsequently the crime is gradually increasing. If we consider the crime committed by children in the district Klatovy from 2004 to 2008, we find that the year 2007 is a year with the lowest crime rate monitored. We are witnessing the gradually decreasing development trend. Lately, the total development of child crime has been slightly increasing and adolescent crime slowly decreasing.

Zdravotní a sociální služby nabízené obyvatelům sociálně vyloučených lokalit v Českých Budějovicích / Health and social services offered to residents of socially excluded localities in České Budějovice

SÁDOVSKÁ, Petra January 2011 (has links)
My diploma thesis focuses on finding out what health and social services are provided to the inhabitants of socially excluded localities in České Budějovice. Social exclusion is a process within which the access of individuals, groups of individuals or a community to sources, positions and opportunities enabling the involvement into social, economic and political activities society, is substantially impeded or completely prevented. The seriousness of the situation is illustrated by the fact that the year 2010 was declared the European European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. One of the possibilities to deal with this situation is to provide health and social services, such as field programmes, social counselling, low-threshold services for young people and crisis assistance. My thesis aims at finding out whether health and social services provided to the inhabitants of socially excluded localities in České Budějovice are available, sufficient, oriented in the right direction, and whether they are used. At the beginning of the theoretical part, I made a brief definition of the terms social exclusion and poverty. Further, I described the main problem spheres of socially excluded citizens to which health and social services should react, and I also added a description of the current situation in individual socially excluded localities selected and of the specification of health and social services that the thesis deals with. The end of the theoretical part contains a summary of the theoretical part and subjects for my own research. The objective of my thesis was to survey the availability and sufficiency of services, especially in the health and social services offered to the inhabitants of socially excluded localities in České Budějovice. The defined objective of my thesis was achieved. To achieve it I used in the practical part the qualitative research, questioning method, the semi-controlled interview technique and analysis of the available data. Research was carried out in two selected sets, one of which consisted of inhabitants of chosen socially excluded localities, and of providers of health and social services in České Budějovice. The data obtained may be used by providers of services to consider an extension of these services. Further, it may serve as an output for an expert article or a basis for further research realised in this field.

How Socially Responsible Investment Is Defined : An analysis of how SRI investment management firms put ethical criteria into practice

Asplund, Therese January 2007 (has links)
Several organisations have called for clarifications on sustainable investment. The aim of this study is to map and compare the ethical criteria used by Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) funds in their assessment of companies. My attention is also to seek for clarifications on the definition on SRI. A theoretical framework has been used to identify core issues of socially responsible investment. The areas of interest are charitable giving, environmental technologies, negative and positive screening and shareholder activism. The empirical material consisted of qualitative interviews with 4 fund managers from 5 investment management firms in addition to written documents on the funds’ ethical criteria. The conclusions are that all of the funds use negative criteria in their assessment of companies, with similarities in what may be considered as unethical activity and differences in the extent. Most of the funds also seek to identify better-managed companies through an assessment of how companies comply with international agreements. Differences occur in the choices of international agreements as well as the minimum criteria for investing. Most of the investment management firms engage in shareholder activism with the aim to influence the companies’ corporate behaviour, thus with different levels of engagement. Some have dialogue with whom they invest in, some favour the idea of communicate with companies they do not invest in as well. Furthermore, the results of this study show that investments in environmental technologies are rare since these companies are too small. When it comes to charitable giving, donations to charity may be seen as SRI or may not be seen as SRI depending on if the concept refers to investment criteria.

Les filles du café : Anthropologie de la fabrique du sujet dagongmei et de son empowerment, Kunming province du Yunnan, Chine / The girls from the coffee shop : Anthropology of the making and the empowerment of the dagongmei subject, Kunming Yunnan province, China

Desplain, Aurélia 14 December 2017 (has links)
Literally "little sister working for a boss", the term dagongmei refers to the unskilled, unmarried, often coming from rural areas female labor force, migrating out of their villages, sometimes out of their province to find a job. The dagongmei represent a category of precarious workers easily interchangeable produced by China's economic development policies over the past four decades. Since the 1990s, the media coverage of scandals on working conditions of dagong subjects increased in China and internationally, calling on companies to rethink their social role. On the other hand, considering the socio-economic and political inequalities that determine the current paths of Chinese women, the government adopts a positioning that is resolutely in favor of women's empowerment. This thesis focuses on a group of young women from rural villages in Yunnan province who are employed in Kunming in a foreign-owned enterprise that defines itself as socially responsible and empowering its employees. If the project of modernity and globality of China has shaped new subjects-workers dagongmei and dagongzai, by the transformation of bodies of rural migrants into bodies of industrial workers, what subjects dagongmei a socially responsible enterprise project to contribute to produce? How can we think of the processes of individualisation within subaltern groups from a perspective that takes into account the gendered relations?
