Podpora čtenářské gramotnosti u žáků se specifickými poruchami učení / Support of reading literacy for pupils with specific learning disabilities

The present diploma thesis examines the support of reading literacy in pupils with specific learning disabilities. Theoretical chapters are engaged in defining the specific learning disorders, aetiology of the same, individual types of learning disabilities, diagnostics and options of re-education and intervention. Further, the theoretical part delves into the educational system and legislation in the Czech Republic, primary education centred around the framework educational programme for this level of education, inclusion and advisory systems in schools and school advisory facilities. In addition, reading literacy is characterized, along with the factors affecting the same, options of support of reading literacy in pupils with specific learning disorders - for the individual types of disorders, teaching methods of reading skills. The thesis presents research focused on supporting reading literacy in pupils with learning disorders; the above research was carried out using questionnaires directed at primary school teachers, and questionnaires directed at parents of pupils with specific learning disorders. 10 Annotation This diploma thesis deals with relations between developmental coordination disorder (or developmental dyspraxia) and laterality and handedness. In the theoretical part this work summarizes actual knowledge about the origin and the development of laterality and handedness and describes possibilities how to examine it. It also deals with knowledge about developmental coordination disorder, its characteristic, etiology, prevalence and diagnostic possibilities. The aim of the practical part was to evaluate motor difficulties in children with right and left handedness and to compare differencies. The Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 was used for that evaluation. Motor skills in 64 children (30 left-handed and 34 right-handed) were evaluated. We haven't found any difference between those groups of children, their results were very balanced. We have also tested the motor skills in children with crossed eye-hand laterality, any significant difference hasn't been found in comparison with standard population. The group of children with learning disabilities has been also evaluated, we have found statisticaly significant difference between their motor skills and motor skills of standard population.

Lenka Felcmanova ABSTRACT: The major topic of the diploma thesis named "Self-concept of pupils with specific learning disability in group and individual integration" is the different self-concept of success rate of older school age pupils with specific learning disability who are educated in a form of individual integration and in a form of group integration. The theoretical foundation of the thesis deals with the term of specific learning disability, with its terminology, definition, causes, classification and reeducation. It further focuses on the education of pupils with specific learning disability, on the term of self-concept and on the older school age period. Practical part of the thesis includes the quantitative research made using the standardized SPAS questionnaire. Methodology of the research, research preconditions, targets of the research, analysis of the collected data and evaluation of the research results are described in the thesis. The influence of social climate in classroom on a self-concept of pupils with specific learning disabilities. The aim of the thesis was to outline the problems of the self-concept of pupils with specific learning disabilities in the classroom social climate. The thesis has the form of an overview study followed by a research probe into the given problems. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of the following main terms based on the literature studied: specific learning disabilities, self-concept, social climate in the classroom. Furthermore, symptoms of the specific learning disabilities and their impact on the self-concept of pupils within the social climate in the classroom are described. The practical part of the thesis deals with the research probe. The research sample is represented by seven classes of 7th and 8th grade pupils from two Central Bohemia schools and three Prague schools. The research probe has the form of a non-standard survey study. In conclusion, the necessity of further research in the area is emphasized. The point of this text is to refer to the child with specific learning and behaviour difficulties as a unique personality and as a human beings with its own value. Childrens' self-concept is formed in a family background, at school and by a person of the same age. Childrens' self-concept is mainly endangered at schools, however the school has got a lot of opportunities to prevent that danger of self-concept reducing, to form and to develop it. The theoretical part is concentrated on forming self-concept in a view of child's psychical development and of childrens' specific learning and behaviour difficulties, it is pointed to forming self-concept at school background and in some situation which can endanger childrens' self-concept. We have also outlined a few possibilities how to prevent the threated self-concept, how to form and develop it. In the empiric part we studied whether the self-concept of children with specific learning and behaviour difficulties differs from self-concept of the children who haven't got these difficulties. For that purpose we used a standard questionnaire.

TITLE: Perception and coping with the specific learning disabilities impacts on everyday life of children with this diagnosis. ABSTRACT This text is focused on recognition of impacts of the specific learning disabilities on everyday life as the children with this diagnosis themselves see it and the strategies used by these children in order to cope with these disabilities. The theoretical part summarizes the necessary knowledge of the early school age developmental stage, the interaction of a child with the family, and briefly the stress and the coping. The results of last year's mothers of specific learning disabilities diagnosed children research are also presented. The empirical part is based on semi-structured interviews with six children diagnosed with the specific learning disabilities attending fourth or fifth grade of primary school. Based on it's qualitative analysis, the thesis attempts to clarify how the specific learning disabilities diagnosed children perceive and experience the impacts of this disabilities on them and how do they cope with it. How to choose a secondary school for a child with specific learning disabilities The aim of the diploma thesis was to outline the current situation in the secondary school choice for pupils with specific learning disabilities and to arouse discussion about the topic. The thesis has the form of an overview study followed by a research probe. On the basis of the research probe, stages of secondary school choice are specified and recommendations regarding the choice are presented for the pupils with specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the definition of the following main terms based on the literature studied: specific learning disabilities, self-concept and career counseling. Further, the thesis includes a description of symptoms of the specific learning disabilities that are connected with the preferred strategy for secondary school choice. In the practical part of the thesis, the research probe is provided. The research sample is represented by pupils with specific learning disabilities attending the 9th grade of school in four regions (Prague, Pilsen, Ústí nad Labem and Moravian-Silesian region). 1 Abstract Title of the thesis: Physical activities of students in special primary schools in the central Bohemian region Aim of the study: The aim of the thesis is a comprehensive survey of physical activities provided by special primary schools in the Central Bohemian region. Method: We used a method of an empirical research. We studied a representative sample of special primary schools located in the Central Bohemia region in order to ascertain characteristics of the objects of observation. The variant of research was a status method. The method of data collection was a questionnaire. Results: The results of the research show a different range of physical activities offered by schools included in our study. The structure of physical education lessons is rich and follows the needs of their students. 90 % of schools organize one-day- programmes focused on physical activities. 70% of schools organize programmes lasting more days, 30 % of schools do not organize programmes of this kind. 70 % of schools offer no sports courses. The survey also revealed the fact that 50 % of schools offer no after-school clubs focused on physical activities. 30 % of schools organize ball games clubs, 20 % table tennis clubs, 20 % physical education for students with health problems, 10 % dancing club. 100 % of schools organize...
