Mether, August January 2019 (has links)
This study investigates the relationship between the confidence in the Chinese government and internet usage of Chinese citizens. The number of internet users is large and keeps growing in China, but so does the amount of internet censorship. Previous research has suggested that internet usage tends to make citizens more sceptical towards authoritarian regimes. The aim with this study was to find out if this theory can be proven when studying China. The government's popularity among the people and the effective censorship of the internet makes China a least-likely case. This field should be examined because it is important to find out if citizens using the internet can potentially be of any threat to the world's most powerful authoritarian regime. By using the fourth wave of the Asian Barometer survey, a multiple regression was put together. The attitude towards the government was used as the dependant variable and internet usage as the independent variable with education, income, age, gender and location as control variables. The result shows that internet usage did correlate with respondents being more sceptical towards the government but the effect was not very strong. When including age in the multivariate regression the effect of internet usage halved, although the effect of internet usage remained statistically significant. The result of the study might indicate that internet usage in authoritarian regimes does make people a bit more sceptical towards the government, despite the internet being censored.

Skriftligt eller muntligt? : Lärares och elevers erfarenheter av återkoppling i ämnet samhällskunskap i gymnasieskolan / Written or oral? Teachers' and students' experiences of feedback given in social studies classes in secondary schoolsWiker, Anneli January 2019 (has links)
This study examines how teachers present feedback in high school social studies, how students understand said feedback, and how feedback can be a tool to help students achieve their goals. In order to study subject specific feedback it is necessary to observe how teachers link subject material with assessment in their feedback to students. Formative assessment, which integrates assessment into classroom workflow and allows students to participate in the assessment process, both communicates information and is a tool to strengthen student learning. A key facet of formative assessment is constructive feedback. This study examines constructive feedback in the context of high school social studies. The results of this study indicate that both of the participating teachers intended that their feedback would develop and strengthen student learning and guide students toward successful goal completion, and that clear and understandable verbal communication is a crucial component of formative assessment. Open and two-way communication between teacher and student throughout the entire assessment process can help students see each lesson as one part of a whole subject. This type of communication can also improve the relationship building process between teachers and students. The students wanted verbal and timely feedback so that they knew which steps to take to meet their goals. It was important to students that they received time to process and help interpreting the feedback given. One theme that emerged from both teachers was that the ability to analyze, be source-critical, and use social science theories and concepts were the most important aspects of social studies. The second order's knowledge thus appears to be absolutely central to the social science subject.

Koalitionshypotesen stämmer även in på Centerpartiet.

Climate Change Adaptation in Vulnerable Cities : A Case Study of Adaptive Capacity and Adaptation in the City of Buenos AiresEriksson, Rebecca January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of climate change adaptation policies in vulnerable cities, where the susceptibility to climate change related hazards is of immediate concern. By applying a qualitative text analysis method on the Buenos Aires Climate Change Action Plan, the focus of which is on the formulation of the specific courses of action, goals and targets of the policy programme, the paper aims to investigate how the city of Buenos Aires is addressing present vulnerabilities, as well as strategising for the future impacts of climate change. The main findings of this paper suggest that the issue of high population density together with increasing recurrence of extreme weather events is at the core of the city’s strategy in addressing present vulnerabilities as well as in strategising for the expected environmental challenges. Additionally, the results are related to the literature on adaptation, adaptive capacity and vulnerability as well as previous research on climate change adaptation in cities of the global North, to provide a contextualised analysis of the adaptation policy strategies of Buenos Aires in relation to our current understanding of urban climate adaptation.
