Den mindre av nationella minoriteter : En kvalitativ intervjustudie om judarnas upplevelser av antisemitism i UmeåÖberg, Mattias January 2018 (has links)
This paper aimed at understanding anti-Semitism and how it is perceived by Jewish inhabitants of Umeå municipality. Considerable research has previous been conducted, mainly by historians, and has proven invaluable to further enhance our understanding of anti-Semitism. The purpose of this paper was thus to explore how three Jewish swedes, residing in Umeå, underwent the process of awareness and understanding of anti-Semitism. The theoretical framework was based on Christopher MacDonald-Dennis previous qualitative study on Jewish undergraduates, and how the process toward awareness unfolds. This paper conducted its research through semi-structured interviews, and operationalization of the theory for analysis was characterized by inductive recognition of phases in a five-stage process. The results show that one respondent has faced anti-Semitism previously and is continually experiencing exposure because she is Jewish and originates from Israel. Another respondent has formerly been exposed to anti-Semitism but perceives today no anti-Semitism directed at her. The third respondent distinguish no anti-Semitism directed at him personally ever since he moved to Umeå but has formerly experienced anti-Semitism in other cities. The results show that the respondents have all gone through the first three phases of the five-stage process, but not the fourth nor the fifth. Although all respondents showed anticipation for a new constellation of a Jewish community, only one of them seemed ready to redefine the structures which are enabling anti-Semitism; which in turn is holding a larger Jewish community back. This paper concludes its finding with an appeal for more qualitative research on anti-Semitism in its local context.

Avnazifieringen & Avbaathifieringen : Utrensningar under ockupationLundström, Gustav January 2018 (has links)

Idris, Ranim January 2018 (has links)
Given the amount of asylum seekers that Sweden has accepted the issue of their integration into the Swedish workforce has become an increasingly acute problem. Swedish government agencies has also noticed that especially women are underrepresented in an already small group of recently arrived who has entered the Swedish labour market. Swedish government agencies has tried to come to grips with this through studies and programs devoted to the issue. This study explains some of the reasons why immigrant women from Syria are underrepresented by looking at how values from their homecountries affect their integration into the labour market. The present study is based on interviews with 6 men and women from Syria and shows how especially “the patriarchal bargain” negatively affects womens participation on the labour market.

Unintentionally Helping the Radical Right? : A Study on the Swedish Established Parties' Articulation on the Immigration Issue and the Electoral Support for the Swedish Radical Right.Bernerstedt, Martin January 2019 (has links)
In recent years Sweden has witnessed an unprecedented electoral support for the radical right in domestic politics. Similar developments for radical right parties have in the last decades been observed around Western Europe, and scholars have tried to identify the reasons for this (arguably surprising) political trend. One possible explanation is presented by the legitimisation theory, which holds that when the political parties incorporate more of the issues typically associated with the radical right into their own party agenda in the hopes of regaining lost votes they simultaneously legitimise the controversial issues advocated by the radical right. Consequently, in contrast to its aim this political strategy may in fact unintentionally facilitate the growing support for the radical right. The findings of this study suggest that there are indications of a potential correlation between the Swedish established parties’ articulation on the immigration issue and the electoral support for the Swedish radical right in 1988-2018. Furthermore, the study provides descriptive information on how the Swedish established parties’ articulation on the immigration issue has changed over time, and how the Swedish printed media’s articulation on the immigration issue has differed from it. Together, the descriptive and statistical findings of this research are both useful and encouraging for future research on this highly contemporary issue in political science.

Hur organiserar skolledare för lärares professionella lärande?Prössel Eriksson, Ulrika January 2018 (has links)
The relationship between students learning and teachers professional learning are central in school systems. Teachers professionalism has got a big impact on students outcome. According to international research the professional learning is central and crucial for school leaders in their task to develop schools. How do school leaders think about organizing for teachers professional learning at their schools? According to them, what has got the greatest impact? And in what way do the leadership effect the students results? I will immerse myself into what research says about organizing for teachers professional learning. I have interviewed six principals to listen to their approaches and experiences about this theme. Research says that schools are complex organizations and as a school leader it is not realistic that you are the leader of all processes yourself. At the same time you are the pedagogical leader at your school. The only way to improve the results in schools is to change what is happening in the classroom, the education. Something that is very easy to say but difficult to get systemized and sustainable. As a school leader you have an indirect influence on this. Leadership is essential together with knowledge of learning theories, goalsetting and organization. Research says that as a school leader you are likely to be more successful if you adjust your leadership due to the situation. School leaders need to create conditions for teachers to learn together on the base of students results. What motivates teachers to continue adjust their education is changes in students results. The role as a school leader is complex and the leadership that are shared and distributed is more likely to be successful.
