Na genderu (ne)záleží: biatlonistky a biatlonisté v českých médiích / The gender (does not) matter(s): female and male biathletes in the Czech media

Březinová, Veronika January 2016 (has links)
The thesis analyzes the media presentation of male and female biathletes in the Czech media, specifically in two newspapers and their online versions. The research focuses on three major biathlon events (Olympic Games, World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě and World Championships), which took place between the years 2014 and 2015. The theoretical part briefly defines terms as sports in the media, gender, process of representation, stereotyping or history and the present of biathlon. The most important chapters in gender studies are feminist studies and their criticism, unwritten rules of gender stereotyping or men and masculinity. This paper also pays attention to chosen methodology - qualitative research and framing analysis. The analytic part of the thesis describes particular frames, which appear in analysed articles. This work is also based on the analysis of visual part of media - photographs. Individual chapters also map dominant frames - sport-reportage frame, frame of heroism, frame of humanity, frame of privacy, and frames of femininity and masculinity. For the purpose of the thesis, the signs, which are attributed to male and female athletes, are assessed too. At the end of the thesis, the author evaluates the conclusions from the research and also adds information about the media...

Rovnost z hlediska věku a genderu (Česko, Dánsko, Francie, Polsko) / Equality: age and gender (Czechia, Denmark, France, Poland)

Černá, Tereza January 2019 (has links)
Equality: Age and gender Abstract Diploma thesis addresses age and gender inequalities in Czechia, Denmark, France and Poland, based on Special Eurobarometer 437 and Special Eurobarometer 465. It introduces basic terms connected with inequality in society as well as terms related to gender and age discrimination. The analytical part is focused on different perceptions of age and gender inequality by respondents from four selected countries. The questions are also analysed on base on the respondent's gender and their age group, either 25-34, or 55-64 years. The conclusion of the conducted survey data analysis is, that society in Czechia and Poland inclines towards gender-based prejudices and stereotypes more, than society in Denmark and France, which may be a consequence of stronger emphasis on gender equality in Western European countries. Age discrimination is more often noticed by Czech and French respondents, but it is clear, that respondents from all four countries perceive ageism as very serious and do not see adopted anti- discrimination measures as sufficient. Key words: discrimination, inequality, stereotypes, ageing, ageism, age discrimination, gender discrimination, Czechia, Denmark, France, Poland

Genderové stereotypy v komunikaci obchodních řetězců na síti Facebook / Gender stereotypes in communication of retail chains on Facebook network

Zieglerová, Lenka January 2019 (has links)
The thesis "Gender stereotypes in the communication of retail chains on Facebook" deals with the topic of gender stereotyping in the Facebook network. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the theoretical foundations are analyzed. The introductory part of the thesis introduces new media, their theoretical basis and history, and then defines the social network Facebook, on which this work focuses. The thesis focuses on gender and gender stereotypes, specifically the gender stereotyping of women. The aim of this thesis is to transfer the outlined theoretical basis, which focuses primarily on new media and gender stereotypes, into practice and to analyze the presence of female gender stereotypes on Facebook pages on the Czech market that primarily target the female audience. Specifically, it is examined whether and how retail chains use female gender stereotypes to communicate, frequency and what types of female stereotypes are most common, and whether the use of gender stereotyping of women changes over time. At the same time, the work also focuses on women's autostereotypes, specifically how women respond to the presence of female gender stereotypes in Facebook communication and whether there is a visible difference from communication without using gender stereotyping of women.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Carlos Henrique Santos da Silva.pdf: 832548 bytes, checksum: 03094bcd7f2ef9a4031d5d74a5282e2b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-02-26 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Based on Seligman & Maier´s (1967) experiment related to learned helplessness indicating that exposition to response independent shocks may produce learning disabilities of an operant response, several authors have concerned to produce same effects in appetitive context and they have presented results indicating interference on operant acquisition (Engberg et al., 1972; Welker, 1976; Oakes et al., 1982 & Job, 1988) or results which do not support interference on operant acquisition (Schwartz et al., 1974; Wheatley et al., 1977 & Beatty & Maki, 1979). The suggestion of the present experiment is that response cost required from operant may be a relevant variable to produce interference on responding after a non contingent appetitive stimuli exposition. Eighteen male Wistar rats were allocated in six different conditions: Contingent CRF (CCRF), Contingent FR (CFR), Non Contingent CRF (NCCRF), Non Contingent FR (NCFR), Control CRF (CTCRF) and Control FR (CTFR). In first phase, subjects in Contingent conditions could produce reinforcers (water) through nose poke response while subjects in Non Contingent conditions were yoked with Contingent subjects and appetitive stimuli were delivered independently of responding and subjects in Control conditions were not exposed. In second phase, all rats in CRF conditions could produce reinforcers through barpressing response reinforced on a continuous reinforcement and rats in FR conditions through the same response reinforced on FR 3. Data suggest subjects exposed to non contingent appetitive stimuli that required more time to task completion in Phase 2 (100 reinforcer acquisitions) indicated more marked interference when FR 3 was utilized instead CRF. Furthermore, interference was identified on Phase 2 in subjects who showed accidentally reinforced variability in Phase 1 unlike subjects who presented stereotypy on responding. Results are discussed based on temporal contiguity among non contingent events, interference / response competition, and aversive / appetitive context differences / A partir do estudo de Seligman e Maier (1967) em relação ao desamparo aprendido , que indicou que a exposição a choques independentes do responder podem produzir dificuldades de aprendizagem de uma resposta operante, autores têm se preocupado em produzir os mesmos efeitos no contexto apetitivo e têm mostrado resultados que apontam interferência no responder na aquisição de resposta operante (Engberg et al., 1972; Welker, 1976; Oakes et al., 1982 & Job, 1988) ou resultados que contradizem o efeito (Schwartz et al., 1974; Wheatley et al., 1977 & Beatty & Maki, 1979).

Klišé v současné výtvarné fotografii / Cliché in Contemporary Art Photography

Čejková, Michaela January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis defines the therm "cliché" in art and specifically in photography. This definition stems from examining concepts that are closely related to cliché: paraphrase, kitch, copy, reproduction. The thesis also pinpoints various examples of cliché in today's photography. It follows the development of certain clichés and aims to answer the question that concerns the repetitive search and imitation of certain images, even by authors who are undoubtedly aware of their existence, as well as frequency.

Obraz Poláků a Polska v jazykových příručkách pro Čechy / The Picture of Polish and Poland in the Language Textbooks for Czech

Kaiserová, Michaela January 2018 (has links)
The thesis The Picture of Polish and Poland in the Language Textbooks for Czech reconstructs the image of Poland and Polish in the textbooks, grammar and other language books, which are addressed to Czech recipients. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part consists of three main sections, which are based on the secondary literature, the first focuses on the the linguistic picture of the world, the second deals with the stereotypes and the prototypes and the third aims at the didactics of foreign languages in the Czech and Polish background. The purpose of the practical part is, based on an analysis of selected topics, to create a coherent picture of Polish and Poland. The topics include, for example, the roles of a man and woman in the Polish family, the characteristics of the Poles, spending time, cuisine and eating, names and surnames, description of historical events etc.

Sexting jako součást života síťových uživatelů: analýza fenoménu sociáních médií / Sexting as a common practise in media users life: analysis of social media phenomen

Veselá, Gabriela January 2018 (has links)
In recent years, sexting has become common part of online communication. This thesis aspires to analyse this media phenomen and sexting behavior among online users. One of the aim of the thesis is to find out if gender differences among online sexual communication occur. For purpose of this thesis, I used quantitative method of research and analysed data extracted from the questionnare distributed among internet users with use of statistics. Research did not prove gender difference in frequency of sexting, however men were more open to sexting outside of stable relationship. Although research did not confirm presumption suggesting that women deal with greater negative impact of sexting, women displayed higher concerns about risk and stigma related to online sexual communication. These concerns could be effected by gender stereotypes in sexual behavior sustained by society.
