6 Abstract Title: Monitoring the effect of selected physical activities considering the risk of falling down in the elderly. Objectives: The aim of this work is to compare the effect of two physical activities used in the prevention of falling down in the elderly, on the traveled distance using the 6MWT (Six Minute Walk Test).The two chosen physical activities are "Nordic walking" and "Sensomotoric stimulation". Methods:Initially, a literature research was conducted in the key area of prevention of falling down in the elderly, the possibilities of physical treatment in this risky group of people, and then were the "Nordic walking" and "Sensomotoric stimulation" activities chosen, as methods used in the prevention of falling down. Two groups were created: "The Nordic Walking Activity Group" and the "Sensomotoric Stimulation Physical Activity Group". The length and intensity of workouts: weeklyfor3-month period, min. 60 minutes and max. 3 hours. Each group counts from 9 to 10 clients, with their age range being between 60 and 69 years. A standardized 6MWT (Six Minute Walk Test) is used to obtain the data to be processed. The results were statistically evaluated using Microsoft Office Excel XP Professional. People can differ in their attitudes toward apalic syndrome patients. Health care staff, however, would always be professional. They deal with a human being, a person who can sense. This fact should form a framework for both health care professionals and patients´ families. Especially nurses should be very sensitive, calm and good-tempered so that they could take adequate care of apalic patients. The empiric part of the thesis was elaborated through qualitative and quantitative research survey. The qualitative method, an interview, was used in the first phase of the survey. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the family members of apalic patients and the nurses of health care facilities. Although the interviews for the family members and the nurses differed in some parts, they contained common identification questions and specific information. The interviews were anonymous and consisted of 16 questions for the family members and 10 questions for the nurses.

The thesis "Basic Therapy in the Direct Care of Gerontological Client" was focused on the description of basic therapies in the direct care of gerontological client with the aim to describe, analyze, and suggest the most optimal approaches in social care that can be realized within basic types of therapy. The text of the work was divided into four chapters which present expert opinions of various authors. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the description of the preferred therapy, the second chapter analyzes the social - health aspects of the old age, and the third chapter gives the insight into the representation of the basic legislation in the care of the seniors. Principal fourth chapter interprets data obtained by qualitative survey that was realized with the help of the cooperation of several methodological procedures, available interviews, the observation in the particular institutional facility implementing a mixed group of six elderly people, who in the course of approximately one year were involved to assemble the case studies and take part in different types of therapies and activities. Title: Acquired flatfoot in adults Background: Flatfoot deformity is one of the common diagnoses in the orthopedic field and physiotherapy, its common in adults as acquired, there is still a large incidence of flatfoot in adolescence and many cases of adult flatfoot are frequently presented as residual pediatric flatfoot. The treatment also has wide field according to type of cause. Aims: The aim of this literature review was to enhance knowledge on the persistence of the acquired flatfoot condition in adult's population by determining the causes of flatfoot with contributing factors that affect the medial longitudinal arch and progression of the deformity, and review of the most common treatment. Method: An electronic database search was conducted to obtain articles from relevant journals (from early 1990 to end 2015). The information was collected also from textbooks. Results: Regarding the causes of acquired flatfoot in adult, a good base of evidence stems from a number of articles review, the posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction is the most cause of acquired flatfoot. For their excitation use of different of kinds stimulation, most often: visual, auditory, somatosenzory, olfactory and gustatory. Evoked potentials are objective method for measurement sense perception. This master’s thesis is specialized to auditory evoked potentials and design acoustic generator for their stimulation. Auditory evoked potentials are primary used for objective audiometry, but they have another usage. In the first place, application is specialized on health sector.
