Building a proper marketing strategy is very important for any company that develops its business to gain profits. A thoroughly thought-out marketing strategy is the first step to attracting as many customers as possible to the individual services or products offered by the company. The aim of this diploma thesis is to propose changes in Strachan Group's current marketing strategy with a view to gaining profit and gaining new customers. The thesis is divided into three chapters, one theoretical, one analytical and one practical. The theoretical part deals with the definition of basic theoretical knowledge fromthe field of marketing. The analytical part examines the current situation in and around Strachan Group as well as its current marketing strategy. At the end of the thesis, there are proposals that would complement the current marketing strategy of thecompany.

Studying whether new trading rules provide higher returns than the buy-and-hold strategy is relevant for both finance theory and the asset management field. In this thesis, we examine the profitability of the newly proposed trading strategy based on the concept of price overreaction on eight developed stock indices. In comparison to other studies, we extend a definition of price overreaction with an inclusion of a minimum volatility threshold. Based on the Ordinary Least Squares model, we find that a volatility condition significantly improves the predictability of return reversals after positive price overreaction. For comparison with the buy-and-hold, we use Hansen's Superior Predictive Ability test that corrects the data snooping bias. Despite better annualised returns during in-sample and out-of-sample periods, the results show that the proposed strategy is not superior to the buy-and-hold at any stock index due to heavy reliance on the predictions of the largest declines. Nevertheless, we confirm the effect of decoupling (flight to quality) that can positively affect our strategy, but only when we do not take into account transaction costs. In the end, we summarize behavioural concepts that lie behind our strategy as the overreaction and decoupling are mostly justified with cognitive biases.

Hlavnou témou mojej diplomovej práce je zhodnotenie, či má firma Nobilis Tilia, s.r.o. rozšíriť svoje podnikateľské aktivity na zahraničné trhy, konkrétne na nemecký trh s kozmetikou. Celá práca je postupne rozdelená do troch hlavných častí – na teoretickú, analytickú a návrhovú. V teoretickej časti sú zhodnotené poznatky získané z literárnych zdrojov zameraných na strategický management firiem. Analytická časť sa zaoberá firmou Nobilis Tilia, s.r.o., jej históriou a portfóliom produktov. Následne je spracovaná analýza vonkajšieho obecného prostredia, Porterova Analýza Piatich Síl, SWOT analýza nemeckého trhu s kozmetikou. Návrhová časť práce ponúka prehľad odporúčaní, založených na výsledkoch spomínaných analýz.

Hlavným cieľom diplomovej práce je kriticky analyzovať politiku Európskej Únie a jej dopad na činnosť nadnárodnej spoločnosti E.ON. Keďže politika Európskej Únie má za cieľ zefektívniť spôsob podnikania vykonávaného v rámci Európskej Únie a okrem iného má predstavovať garanciu zodpovednosti jak spotrebiteľov, tak dodávateľov operujúcich na trhu, tak zámer práce bol definovaný na analýzu politického vplyvu rozhodnutí Európskej Únie a ich dopad na následné strategické rozhodnutia firmy. Analytická čas práce je preto zameraná na analýzu Európskej energetickej politiky s kladením dôrazu na profil spoločnosti E.ON, Európsku energetickú stratégiu, obnoviteľné zdroje, jadrovú energetiku, bezpečnosť energetickej dodávky a na Európsky systém obchodovania s emisiami.

This master thesis deals with the implementation of enterprise information system of ERP category in the company METAL STEEL INDUSTRY, spol. s.r.o. In the first part of the thesis is described the basic theoretical knowledge and information for a specific issue. The aim of this work is the detection and identification of critical factors and potential risks associated with the selection, implementation and subsequent operation of the enterprise information system. The output of this work is a time and economic evaluation of the project, creating proposals to reduce risks and create recommendations for the company.

In my master thesis I analyze the influence of Taiwan's democratization on Cross- Strait relations. The thesis is structurally divided into three main periods: the pre- democratization period, democratization period and the period since the first power alternation in Taiwan. The first chapter analyzes the emergence of the Cross-Strait issue, the period of the Japanese colonization, the Post-Second World War Period, the Chinese Civil War and Cold War period until second half 80s. It points out the main external and internal factors, which influenced the Cross- Strait relations development and also the development of both Chinese states. The subject of the second chapter is the Taiwan's democratization and its internal and external leverage. Based on A. Przeworski's Theory of Games I am comparing the Taiwan's democratization to the Tiananmen incident. At the end of the second chapter I am comparing political system and regime of both Chinese states and I am pointing out salience of Taiwan for China. The final chapter examines the period of the first power alternation in Taiwan and how it influenced the Cross- Strait relations. It analyzes the issue of Taiwanese identity and sovereignty. The master thesis is focused on strategy of development of family business company Ing. Ján Buchanec Technik, which is trading company. In the first part of the master thesis there are theoretical notes. In the second part there are introduced characteristic of company, individual parts of strategic analysis and evaluation of the results of these analysis. The last part concern recommendation, which should have a positive impact on the further development of the family company.

Diplomová práca podáva komplexné a kritické zhodnotenie chodu spoločnosti Lesy Mesta Levoča, spol. s r.o. Analýza sa zameriava na firemnú stratégiu , konkurenčné postavenie spoločnosti a jej finančné zdravie. Finančná analýza je založená na štvrťročných účtovných výkazoch v období rokov 2004 až 2010. Na základe výsledkov analýz práca podáva návrhy a odporúčania, ktoré by mohli viesť k lepšiemu postaveniu spoločnosti v budúcnosti.

Master´s thesis adresses the issue of public spaces of inner city of Brno. These spaces have good prerequisities to become attractive places for everyday use or for spending a good free time. These prerequsities include for example compact city structure, well defined public spaces, walking city distances, presence of public and commercial facilities and distinctive genius loci. But public spaces in these localities often do not fulfill their own potential and stay as average free space inbetween buildings. Thesis suggests a detailed system for categorisation of squares and streets in the inner city of Brno and examines the reasons for potential non-fulfillment on these typologies, it tries to find out the problems of public spaces and how they can be solved.
