We chose the 108 municipalities in the state of Sao Paulo considered high HDI (indicator above 0.8). The data used are from Seade for the year 2000, since this was the last year of publication of the HDI for municipalities. The methodology used in constructing the indicator will be the factor analysis, since shown that this method is appropriate when there is a significant number of variables involved. After calculation of the indicator is checked if there was a change in the pattern of development of the municipalities analyzed. Also noteworthy is that this study will be drawn maps to represent the spatial distribution of municipalities according to the classification in each dimension that makes up the index and also for the Comprehensive Development Index (IDAM). / O trabalho tem por objetivo desenvolver um indicador de desenvolvimento considerando variáveis que representem as dimensões: social, ambiental, econômica, política e cultural. Foram escolhidos 108 os municípios do estado de São Paulo considerados de alto IDH (indicador acima de 0,8). Os dados utilizados são da Fundação Seade referentes ao ano de 2000, visto que este foi o último ano de publicação do IDH para os municípios brasileiros. A metodologia adotada na elaboração do indicador será de análise fatorial, visto que este método mostra-se pertinente quando há um número expressivo de variáveis envolvidas. Após o cálculo do indicador será verificado se houve alteração no padrão de desenvolvimento dos municípios analisados. Destaca-se também que neste estudo, serão elaborados mapas para representar a distribuição espacial dos municípios, de acordo com a classificação, em cada dimensão que compõe o índice e também para o Índice de Desenvolvimento Amplo (IDAm).
