Integration of dynamic movement concepts into the ballet technique class for the development of movement quality

Aitchison, Beverley 01 1900 (has links) (PDF)

Soldering Technique on Flexible Fiber Holder Packaging

Chen, Guo-Rong 16 November 2004 (has links)
In the fiber-optic modules packaging, the passive alignment can provide mass production, but it also results in low Electro-Optic performance. After using active alignment in packaging, the laser welding is often applied to assemble the module. However, the welding process cause a post-weld-shift (PWS) of fiber. And the laser welding machine is expensive, this will make the module packaging price hard to cost down. A major cost-reduction soldering fixing technique is developed to replace the laser welding. To determine the fabrication tolerances associated with the coupling of a laser diode and a single-mode fiber(SMF), the sensitivity of the coupling efficiency in both linear and angular offsets was measured. In this research, a fiber holder and a gripper have been developed for assembly. And active alignment is used to align the laser diode and SMF under computer control, whereupon a soldering fixing operation joins the fiber holder on the module. During the soldering process, the condition control was provided to keep the deflection steady. After the displacement compensating before soldering, the final displacement is less than 1 ㎛ which keeps the coupling loss within 3dB.

A Probabilistic Approach for ATC Calculation

Tsai, Chih-Yi 14 June 2000 (has links)
Because of the essentially stochastic nature of power systems behavior, mainly due to random equipment outages and load variations, it is very important to consider uncertainties of power systems to promote the accuracy of Available Transfer Capability (ATC) calculations. This paper proposed a probabilistic technique "Bootstrap" to provide an accuracy criteria for ATC estimation that uses historical data and a future postulated condition. The bootstrap is a computer-based method for assigning measures of accuracy to statistical estimates. Test results showed that when the uncertainties of loads and line outages were considered, using the proposed probabilistic approach the confidence intervals could reflect the accuracy of the posted ATC values and it will be more flexible in bidding ATC to further aid transmission customers in their evaluation of transaction biddings and risk analysis.

analysis of decision factor of technique acquiring model in large pharmaceutical company in Taiwan

yao-wen, wu 20 June 2000 (has links)
Although the pharmaceutical industry in Taiwan is not at large, there exist such two hundreds companies in this industry. In the past decade, such industrial development is unable to keep up with those of more developed countries, for instance, the United States and the United Kingdom. A few reasons behind such fact are due to the high barriers on research and development of the pharmaceutical industry. For those larger pharmaceutical companies, investments on research and development are continuously being attempted. Though such attempted level cannot be compared with those pharmaceutical industries from abroad, it serves as a fine learning model for other companies particularly those of smaller ones to take into considerations. The primary goal behind the study is to explore the development and research of the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, such finding could provide an important source for other companies and for the government in the future if they plan to develop such type of industry. In order to carry out the study, interview method suggested by the experts will be utilized. First and foremost, related documents and sources on the pharmaceutical industry field both including the developing and technical aspect will be collected. The major points will then be sorted and organized for further study. Next, those managers who specialize in this area will be interviewed; and their opinions and their methodological recognitions will then be analyzed. The study shows that most of these companies belong to the so called small and medium size enterprises. Their methods of modeling acquisition are decisions made by the top managers depending and according to the different situations and different cases. Most companies perceive some common factors like economical motivation, technical motivation and copyright and patent rights as the problems to be emphasized more. Finally, nine questions, comments and related discussion topics from the study are presented. In conclusion, this study suggests two aspects for further research. One is to analyze the feasibility on the possible integration of large-scale pharmaceutical companies in Taiwan and the second one is to develop policies for research and development of pharmaceutical industry. This is to further expand the purpose behind the research.

The Laser Diode Module Packaging by Soldering Technique

Chang, Shin-En 21 June 2002 (has links)
ABSTRACT A DIP (dual-in-line) laser diode module packaging by soldering technique was investigated. We made high coupling efficiency fiber lens under the best arc fusing conditions. The coupling efficiency of fiber lens was obtained 82%, while offset of fiber lens center was less than 0.5mm and curvature radius was about 9mm. We metallized the high coupling efficiency fiber lens, and packaged it in the DIP housing. The components inside the module were uncoated FP (Fabry-Perot) laser chip, p-i-n detector, substrate, and cooler. We made a package process as follows: 1) We utilized the heating apparatus to fix the FP laser, PIN detector, and thermistor on the substrate. 2) We utilized the heating apparatus to make the cooler fixed on the DIP housing and the substrate fixed on the cooler. 3) We utilized the electrothermal heating machine to melt 1.5mm3 indium wire and adjusted the fiber lens by tweezer to couple light into the fiber inside the DIP housing. We obtained the 2.93mW output power and 58.6% coupling efficiency after packaging. The post-soldering-shift resulted from the indium solidification was the most important factor affecting the coupling efficiency. By improving substrate design properly, we could reduce the indium quantity to minimize the solidification effect. The post-soldering-shift should be controlled below 1mm in the transverse axis and below 10 mm in the longitudinal axis, respectively. Finally, We achieved an external cavity fiber grating laser module with 2mW output power, and got an open eye pattern after measuring the DIP transmitter module.

A Study of David Popper's Contribution to Cello Techniques.

Shih, Fan-chieh 05 February 2008 (has links)
The late nineteenth century is a period when cello saw rapid development. Growing up in this environment, David Popper, a cellist and a composer, dedicated to the prevalence of cello. Besides playing cello, he created many popular cello pieces and etudes Op.73 and Op.76. These works and etudes not only have a great influence on the cello performance in the late nineteenth century but also play a key role in modern cello development. Therefore I will explore the importance of Popper and the influence of his works by analyzing his works and etudes and surveying various analyses of comments on his etudes. The thesis consists of two chapters, including the introduction and conclusion. The chapter one discusses the biography and the style of his composition. Besides introducing its style, it also mentions that his style and techniques are close to Franco-Belgian school. Chapter two focuses on the analysis of his three etudes and other solo pieces, making a comparison with another two references. In the end, it offers cello works in different periods with Popper¡¦s Op.73 for practice, in order to see the applicability of Popper¡¦s etudes. From analyzing Popper¡¦s works, it shows that fingering and bowing are slightly different between now and the end of the nineteenth century since all of his etudes mark fingering and bowing. It provides references for performer while choosing etudes and raises the status of Popper in the development of cello.
