Coming out náctiletých queer hrdinů v současném evropském filmu / The Coming Out Process of Queer Male Teenagers in Contemporary European CinemaHosenseidl, Radek January 2017 (has links)
This thesis discusses the similarities in coming-out depictions in
contemporary European cinema focusing on teenage and coming-of-age queer
male characters. While based on understanding the coming out as a sociological
phenomenon with strereotypical development, it allows for deviations both in
reality and in film. The thesis further aims to identify common elements in films
with coming-out narratives: repetitive narrative techniques, themes, characters
and motives. Using the analyses of three films, the thesis also examines the
importance of coming-out stories in broader film narrative.

Etická dilemata sociální práce při práci s dětmi a mládeží v nízkoprahových zařízeních / Ethical dilemmas of social working with children and youth in low facilitiesŠKODOVÁ, Zdeňka January 2018 (has links)
The task of this diploma thesis is to describe and summerize the ethical dilemmas that occur in the work of social workers in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The aim of this work is to formulate individual ethical dilemmas faced by social workers in social work with risky youth in low-threshold facilities for children and youth, and then to perform subsequently the analysis of one selected ethical dilemma using three ethical theories. The basis for collecting information was a qualitative research - the research probe, specifically, the method of questioning, the technique of the semi-structured interview with social workers. The diploma thesis is divided into five chapters in which I describe the formation and development of low-threshold facilities, the clients of these facilities and the aspects influencing their risk. Other chapters are devoted to ethics and ethical dilemmas in general. In conclusion of the thesis, the analysis of the specific ethical dilemma from the practice of the interviewed social workers is carried out, using three ethical theories deontology, utilitarianism and ethics of care. This is the case when ethics and social work link and point out the possibility of using ethical theories in professional practice.

Teorie mravních citů a odkaz Adama Smithe v současné filosofii / Theory of Moral Sentiments and Adam Smith's Legacy in Contemporary PhilosophyBUKÁČKOVÁ, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the theory of moral sentiments as put in Adam Smith's work. The thesis reflects the legacy of Adam Smith and enlightened sentimentalism as whole in field of contemporary philosophy and sociological science. Hence the thesis gives attention to misinterpretations of Smith's work, to his economical heritage with emphasis on Hayek's elaboration of the theory of spontaneous order (which has foundation in the notion of the "invisible hand") and also to his legacy in political philosophy. Here the thesis introduces particularly the debate on reflective autonomy, which is crucial for the lining of fundamental features of the disagreement between rationalistic and sentimentalistic account of the origin of morality, and tries to advocate the significance of sentimentalistic claims in todays society. The aim of this thesis is to convince the reader that the aspects of our mind, which the theory of moral sentiments and sentimentalism emphases and which are rather overlooked or devalued in todays world, are absolutely necessary in public debate.

Moderní dějiny a památková péče ve středo-východní Evropě / Modern History and Heritage Preservation in Central-East EuropeKrejčí, Marek January 2014 (has links)
Czech born art historian Max Dvořák is known as one of the leading persons of modern heritage protection in Central-East Europe. He formulated, similarly as his own teacher Alois Riegl, position in manner of science work typical for Vienna School of Art History. Main purpose and contribution of this work lies in a comparison of some parallels of phenomens including reception of his ideas in other states of Central-East Europe: former Czechoslovakia, Poland, and Hungary or Slovenia from the early organized conservation efforts in former Austrian Empire in 19th century to presence. On a theoretical level, in former Czechoslovakia, the Dvořák's modern conservation principles were accepted as universal. Unfortunately, in practice, this dominant discourse was changed by conformity in a conflict with political reality. The 1950's mean a stage of expansion of the state heritage protection, but a bitter price was paid by superordination of the political criteria to the professional ones. The moral ethos suffered also a lot of injuries. This resulted in preferring bureaucratic formalism over factual approaches, voluntarism, in compromise ability and in unwillingness to risk ones position for getting involved in fundamental questions of the preservations of monuments without any deeper interests in...

Ticho / SilenceŠterbáková, Daniela January 2015 (has links)
Silence is a negative term denoting absence of sounds. However, our ordinary way of speaking about silence suggests that the latter is some perceptible reality, 'some- thing' perceived. But is it legitimate to say that we hear silence - absence of sound? What implications about perception does such a way of speaking have? The aim of the present thesis is to analyse these questions. The analysis unfolds along three axes. The first part of the thesis reconstructs the problem of perception of silence in John Cage's 'silent piece' 4'33" in context of its conceptual origin, Cage's aesthetics, and reflection of his work in his written texts. Hence the introduction of the problem of perceptible silence in recent thought. It discusses the thesis that we cannot hear absolute silence, not even in the soundproof chamber, and considers the question whether it is adequate to say that we can hear silence if we expect to hear music, but the music does not sound - a question that was raised by the premiere of 4'33". The second part of the thesis scrutinizes the position according to which we can directly hear/listen to silence which is the absence of sounds, namely the arguments of Roy Sorensen and Ian Phillips. Emphasis is put on Sorensen's theory since it is in direct contrast to Cage's position (though Sorensen...

Počítačové adaptivní testování v kinantropologii: Monte Carlo simulace s využitím physical self description questionnaire / Computerized Adaptive Testing In Kinanthropology: Monte Carlo Simulations Using The Physical Self Description QuestionnaireKomarc, Martin January 2017 (has links)
This thesis aims to introduce the use of computerized adaptive testing (CAT) - a novel and ever increasingly used method of a test administration - applied to the field of Kinanthropology. By adapting a test to an individual respondent's latent trait level, computerized adaptive testing offers numerous theoretical and methodological improvements that can significantly advance testing procedures. In the first part of the thesis, the theoretical and conceptual basis of CAT, as well as a brief overview of its historical origins and basic general principles are presented. The discussion necessarily includes the description of Item Response Theory (IRT) to some extent, since IRT is almost exclusively used as the mathematical model in today's CAT applications. Practical application of CAT is then evaluated using Monte-Carlo simulations involving adaptive administration of the Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ) (Marsh, Richards, Johnson, Roche, & Tremayne, 1994) - an instrument widely used to assess physical self-concept in the field of sport and exercise psychology. The Monte Carlo simulation of the PSDQ adaptive administration utilized a real item pool (N = 70) calibrated with a Graded Response Model (GRM, see Samejima, 1969, 1997). The responses to test items were generated based on item...
