Tichý, Vojtěch January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis was dealing with design of the device for measuring the mean temperature in a channel of any cross-section. First, the theory of heat, heat transfer and fluid flow was summarized. Theory was focused specially on the uneven temperature distribution in the flowing medium. Furthermore, a general overview of commercially used temperature sensors and developed sensors with applicability to the investigated problematics was elaborated. Then, a device for sensing mean temperature in a flow channel for several different diameters has been fully designed and developed. The device included the temperature sensor itself, the necessary measurement electronics and its programming, and a simple measurement data application.

Teplotní stárnutí bezolovnatých spojů na keramice / Thermal aging of lead-free joints on ceramics

Cingel, Štefan January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis aims to verify the properties of lead-free solders, which are subjected to accelerated aging by thermal cycling. The theoretical part describes in detail the most used lead-free solders and their characteristics. The next section describes fluxes and their important functions in the soldering process. Intermetallic compounds are also mentioned, which significantly affect the quality and service life of the soldered joint. In the practical parts, the test motif was on two different substrates - corundum ceramics and the widely used substrate FR-4 (Glass fiber fabric saturated with epoxy resin). SAC solder was chosen as the reference solder for the experiment, followed by solder containing bismuth (Sn42 / Bi58) and lead solder (Sn62 / Pb36 / Ag2). Accelerated aging by thermal cycling was performed in the temperature range from -20 ° C to 125 ° C, followed by performing a test of the mechanical strength of the soldered joint by means of a shear test. SnBi solder shows higher mechanical strength at the beginning of testing than SAC solder and lead solder, during temperature cycles, it significantly loses its mechanical properties, this is caused by increasing oxidation of the alloy. SAC solder seems to be promising, which has an almost constant decrease in mechanical strength during all temperature cycles on both corundum and FR-4 substrates.

Sedlář, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the simulation of heat dissipation for LED Seoul SZ5-P. The heat transfer is discussed first. Further, the issue of thermal management and its design is analyzed. The dependence of LED junction temperature on area of single and double layer printed circuit board is simulated with Ansys Icepak. Additionally, influences of the number and placement of vias on the printed circuit board and aluminum substrate printed circuit board are simulated. Last but not least, the equations describing the dependence of printed circuit board area on desired LED junction temperature are derived. Finally, the values of heat transfer coefficient including convection and radiation are determined for various heat losses and junction temperatures.

Charakteristika polyfázového vývoje deformační mikrostruktury křemene na příkladu krkonošsko-jizerského krystalinika / Characteristics of polyphase deformation in quartz microstructure: an example from the Krkonoše-jizera Unit

Očenášková, Eva January 2014 (has links)
Quartzite samples taken in the east part of Krkonoše-Jizera Massif belong to metasedimentary cover of paraautochtonous unit. Rocks underwent a polyphase deformation which established a strong shape preffered orientation (SPO) of quartz grains. In folded quartz veins, deformation overprint mechanisms and microstructure, CPO and SPO relations were studied. For determination of crystal preffered orientations (CPO) the method of computer integrated polarization microscopy (CIP) was used. Microstructural analysis was focused on grain sizes, aspect ratios, long axis orientations and their relation to the deformation overprint grade. Results implies that dominant mechanism of quartz grain recrystallization is grain boundary migration. Folds were created by simple shear in microscale. The deformation overprint grade is strongest in the top of the fold hinge, where grains achieve highest aspect ratios and sizes. In the lower parts of the fold hinge the original CPO is preserved in small grains and SPO has similar orientation to original CPO. During folding CPO and SPO rotated with shear direction in dependance on deformation overprint grade.

Úloha translačních elongačních faktorů v dynamice stresových granulí / Role of translational elongation factors in dynamics of stress granules.

Hlaváček, Adam January 2015 (has links)
eIF5A seems to be involved in both, translation initiation and elongation. It was also reported to affect assembly of P-bodies. Given similarities of P-bodies with stress granules (SGs) we decided to test the role of eIF5A in dynamics of heat-induced SGs and its implications for the cell recovery. For the evaluation of eIF5A function in SGs formation was used the temperature- sensitive (ts) mutant eIF5A-3 (C39Y/G118D) cultivated under permissive temperature 25řC and Rpg1-GFP fusion protein as a marker of SGs. The cells were exposed to robust heat shock at 46řC for 10 minutes. The ability of the mutant cells to recover was tested by propidium iodine staining and colony forming units plating. We found that the eIF5A-3 mutant forms heat-induced SGs more loosely aggregated, indicating that the fully functional eIF5A is necessary for SGs assembly. However, it does not seem to affect the rate of SGs dissolution. Survival tests indicate that eIF5A-3 mutant cells are susceptible to dying in a similar way as WT cells; nevertheless, their ability to resume proliferation is significantly better. We also observed a loss of the ts phenotype of the eIF5A-3 mutant. This loss cannot be explained by reversion of mutated eIF5A sequence into normal. Probable cause lies in the adaptive evolution. Our results indicate role of...

Statistická analýza historických časových řad / Statistical analysis of historical temperature series

Gergelits, Václav January 2013 (has links)
Title: Statistical analysis of historical temperature series Author: Václav Gergelits Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jaromír Antoch CSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: antoch@karlin.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: In the present work we deal with the statistical analysis of time-series of a mean-temperature obtained from seven European cities from the Europe Union project "IMPROVE". Properties of the time series are analyzed by means of descriptive statistics, being assessing their homoscedasticity, autocorrelation and normality. We report the ways in which the data has been adjusted, including consideration of the impact of the urban heat island and we discuss the availability of additional data. The theoretical part presents a theory of change point detection for a one change model as well as more than one change model taking an autocorrelation into account. In the practical part we analyze the data using change point detection method. The significant increase was not detected for time series of Cadiz and Uppsala. The significant increase was rather detected for the rest of the time series. The increase of temperature could be in a relation to the adjustment for the urban heat island. Keywords: change point detection, temperature time series 1

Teplotní a vlhkostní režim strukturních půd Vysokých Tater / Thermal and moisture regime of patterned ground in the High Tatras

Pechačová, Blanka January 2013 (has links)
6 ABSTRACT Thermal and moisture regime of patterned ground is closely associated with the presence of the regelation phenomenon. Generally, the regelation includes all processes leading to the water freeze-thaw alternations in soil or bedrock. As a result of cyclic freezing and thawing of soil water under specific conditions, processes, such a moisture migration, ice segregation or frost heaving, operate. Termal and moisture regime is the main factor of these processes and consequentely, of the patterned ground formation. The submited diploma thesis is concerned with thermal and moisture regime of patterned ground in the High Tatras. The main aims of the thesis was to characterize thermal and moisture regime of patterned ground, to evaluate and confront the patterned ground regelation activity depending on the diverse soil depths and different types of the patterned ground and to evaluate the soil temperature relationship to the air temperatures, soil moisture content and the water level regime of the nearest lakes. The partial purpose of the thesis was to assess the applicability of different methods of the regelation cycle determination based on the soil temperature measurements. During the study period 2007 - 2012 the regelation activity of sorted paterned ground (Hincove oká, Lúčne sedlo and Skalnaté...
