Změna složení těla po redukci nadváhy a obezity metodou skupinové kognitivně behaviorální terapie / Change in body composition of overweight and obese clients after weight reduction intervention using group cognitive behavioral therapy

Šuterová, Jana January 2017 (has links)
The main aim of the study is to determine a body composition in participants of weight reduction program STOB, based on group cognitive behavioral therapy of obesity. The program lasted 12 weeks and participants underwent a cognitive behavioral therapy and followed a diet and physical activity plan. The body composition was measured by bioelectrical impedance InBody 230 at the initial and final lesson. We examined a participant's body weight, skeletal muscle, fat mass, abdominal fat mass and BMI. At the end of the weight reduction program participants lost 5% (-4,6kg) of their initial weight, achieved significant decrease in fat mass (average -4,3kg and -3%), lost 14,4cm2 of abdominal fat mass and mean BMI value decreased by 1,7. A muscle component hasn't significantly changed within the weight reduction program. The effect of 12 week weight reduction program STOB resulted in significant changes in body composition, which are associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular and metabolic complications of obesity. Using cognitive behavioral therapy as an obesity management strategy is positively evaluated especially for its effect on long term weight reduction and effective relapse prevention. Therefore a future study should be focused on a long term re-evaluation of changes in body composition in...

Buněčná terapie na zvířecích modelech- preklinické studie / Cell therapy in animal models - preclinical studies

Juhásová, Jana January 2011 (has links)
The progress of cell therapy can be greatly facilitated by using suitable experimental models. It is essential to verify the clinical usefulness of new healing procedures obtained in studies on laboratory animals by using a large animal model. One of suitable models well acceptable in medical community is undoubtedly the miniature pig, which resembles humans in terms of physiology and body proportions. This PhD thesis presents the summary of our experimental studies relating to possible exploitation of mesenchymal and neural stem cells in the healing of locomotive apparatus and neural tissue disorders in humans or animals. The first part of the thesis briefly describes the current issue of cell therapy and animal models, mesenchymal cells and/or their combination with new types of scaffolds, neurogenesis, neural stem cells and their potential application in therapy of spinal cord injury. The second part is focused on the goals and methodology, the individual publications being listed in the third part. Our experiments with iatrogenic physeal defect in rabbits, which served as a model of the occurrence of valgous deformation in the clinical practice, showed the positive preventive and therapeutical effects of a new type of scaffolds seeded with allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in animals without...

Studium interakce antiretovirotika maraviroku s lékovými transportéry ABCB1 a ABCG2 / Study on interaction potential of maraviroc with drug transporters ABCB1 and ABCG2

Erbenová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology Student: Kateřina Erbenová Supervisor: PharmDr. Martina Čečková, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Study of interactions antiretroviral drug maraviroc with drug transporters ABCB1 and ABCG2. Maraviroc is inhibitor of CCR5 HIV virus entry into the cells representing one of the important components of antiretroviral therapy. To optimize the treatment strategies and minimize the therapeutic risks of maraviroc-containing combination antiretroviral therapy, it is important to know the interactions of this drug with other antiretrovirals. In particular, interaction on membrane transporters may affect pharmacokinetics and thereby the tissue concentrations of administered drugs, leading to insufficient efficacy of the therapy or increased toxicity. The aim of this study was to experimentally evaluate interaction of maraviroc with the two most important active drug transporters of the ABC transporter superfamily, ABCB1 (P-glycoprotein) and ABCG2 (BCRP). Using in vitro methods employing cell lines we aimed to fulfil two main goals: (1) to evaluate the inhibitory effect of maraviroc on ABCB1 and ABCG2 transporters and (2) to study if any of these transporters could transfer maraviroc as their substrate. The data...

Reminiscence Computer Therapy for People with Dementia / Vývoj asistenční aplikace pro lidi s demencí

Černý, Martin January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to implement a presentation layer for the Reminiscence Computer Therapy application. Reminiscence Therapy involves the discussion of the past memories and it is believed to help people with dementia to improve their well-being and sustain their memories. Computer Reminiscence Therapy involves technology in this therapy. The research introduces into Dementia and Reminiscence Therapy with and without using technologies. The application developed as part of this diploma thesis uses picture upload and speech recognition techniques for the memory input. This is used to support remembering of past memories and to increase discussion. The application can be used with or without the carer as well as with friends and family members. The six most important requirements on the developed application are the speech recognition, picture upload, asking questions about the previous recordings, asking questions about tagged friends, using old stories for discussion and presenting the statistics. The application was developed as a part of the competition made by AngelHack organization. Presentation, business and persistence layers of the application are discussed in this diploma thesis as well as user manual and persistence layer implementation of the requirements. The presentation layer was developed using React framework for JavaScript. Other libraries have to be used as well with the most important being Redux library for storing application state. This library affected the structure of the persistence layer.

Možnosti využití principů a konceptů gestalt terapie v supervizi / The Possibilities of using the principles and concepts of Gestalt therapy in Supervision

Karásek, Daniel January 2021 (has links)
The Thesis deals with the interconnection of the Gestalt approach and the Supervision. The aim of the thesis is to map and search the possible use of the principles and concepts of the Gestalt therapy in the field of offering the Supervision through the statements of experiences, attitudes, knowledges and the unique reality of six wise supervisors who know the theory and practice of the Gestalt approach. First, the Gestalt Therapy is presented, its basic principles and concepts are named. Then the Supervision is defined, its general principles are enumerated, its relation to the Psychotherapy is defined and pursuant the available resources the Supervision is viewed from the Gestalt Therapy pespective. Qualitative research which is the core of the work combines procedures of the Phenomenological method and the grounded theory. The results found during the research are presented by the paradigmatic model and the graphic model, which visualize Gestalt principles and concepts used in the supervision process. The results are accompanied by the vivid testimonies of the participants so the Thesis might inspire not only supervisors with the interest in the Gestalt Therapy. Eventually the results are summarized, discused and further action is offered. Key words: Gestalt Therapy, supervision, here and know,...

Příprava inhibitorů Neuraminidasy vhodných pro teranostiku / Synthesis of Neuraminidase binders suitable for theranostics

Berenguer Albiñana, Carlos January 2018 (has links)
Influenza viruses cause respiratory illnesses which can vary in severity depending on the strain of the virus, as well as the age and health condition of the host. Influenza remains a major threat to public health due to its nature prone to suffer mutations. As a result, vaccines have to be reformulated annually and new strains may cause sporadic global pandemics. Furthermore, the recent emergence of resistant strains of the virus against the current standard of care (oseltamivir and zanamivir) underlines the need of novel anti-influenza therapeutics. The aim of this dissertation work is to contribute to the discovery of new anti-influenza inhibitors either by rational drug-design and optimization of oseltamivir structure, or by developing screening assays suitable for the discovery of novel inhibitors of the enzymes neuraminidase or RNA-polymerase. Scheme 1. Overview of the strategy used for the development of new anti-influenza therapeutics. The dashed arrows indicate the inhibitors that were converted into probes and their corresponding target enzymes Two main modification points were explored for the improvement of oseltamivir properties (Scheme 1); modifications at carbon C-3 aimed to overcome oseltamivir resistance caused by common mutations like H274Y, meanwhile modifications at carbon C-5...

‘n Narratiewe alternatief op die konsep van afhanklikheidsidentiteit : ‘n Pastorale perspektief

Ackermann, Theunis C. January 2017 (has links)
Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2017. / Practical Theology / PhD / Unrestricted

Fluorescenční detekce kožních nádorů / Fluorescence Detection of Skin Tumours

Stíbal, Adam January 2013 (has links)
This thesis discusses the photodynamic therapy (PDT) and it's application for dia- gnostics of tumours. The PDT is based on production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) from the molecules of photosensitizers (PS). PS are preferentially accumulated in disea- sed tissues, where ROS are produced and cause selective destruction of the target tissue, while surrounding healthy tissue remains intact. The photodynamic diagnostics uses the fluorescence of PS for digital and spectral imaging. This thesis is focused on detection of tumours from spectral characteristics of protoporphyrin IX fluorescence induced in tis- sue by methyl-aminolevulinate. The main part of the research was realised on rats' scars in vivo, the solutions of homogenized mouse fibroblasts were also studied. The way to distinguish between diseased and healthy tissue was found using measurements of fluo- rescence bleaching kinetics.
