Acercar y reflejar en un juego de espejos las propuestas de Luigi Pirandello y SamuelBeckett constituye el propósito de la presente tesis. El núcleo central de la argumentaciónes constituido por la máscara, tal como surge de la obra teatral de Pirandello. Con eltérmino 'máscara' se hace referencia no sólo al artefacto material utilizable en la puesta enescena, sino sobre todo a la representación simbólica de una experiencia vivida por el serhumano, a través del personaje teatral. Se sostiene que el nombre propio, el cuerpo y lamirada dibujan los rasgos exteriores de la máscara, mientras la oscilación desde la palabrahasta el silencio, pasando por la locura, caracteriza los elementos internos. La dramaturgiapirandelliana ocupa una posición central en la investigación y representa el punto de partidapara el análisis de las correspondencias. Los ámbitos de comparación están determinadospor la poética teatral, el lenguaje dramático y la caracterización de los personajes. / The intention of this thesis is to put together and reflect, like in a mirror game, LuigiPirandello's and Samuel Beckett's proposals. The mask, as it arises from Luigi Pirandello'sdramatic work, constitutes the central core of the argument. The term 'mask' refers notonly to the device available for staging, but especially to the symbolic representation of anexperience lived by the human being, through the dramatic character. I propose that thename, the body and the look draw the mask's external features, while the oscillation fromthe word up to the silence, passing through the madness, characterizes the internalelements. Pirandellian dramatic theory and art play a central role in the research andrepresent the starting point for the analysis of the correspondences. Theatrical poetics,dramatic language and characters determine the areas of comparison.
