Comparing performance between plain JavaScript and popular JavaScript frameworks

Ladan, Zlatko January 2015 (has links)
JavaScript is used on the web together with HTML and CSS, in many cases using frameworks for JavaScript such as jQuery and Backbone.js. This project is comparing the speed and memory allocation of the programming language JavaScript and its two most used frameworks as well as the language on its own. Since JavaScript is not very fast and it has some missing features or features that differ from browser to browser and frameworks solve this problem but at the cost of speed and memory allocation, the aim is to find out how well JavaScript and the two frameworks jQuery and Backbone.js are doing this on Google Chrome Canary. The results varied (mostly) between the implementations and show that the to-do application is a good enough example to use when comparing the results of heap allocation and CPU time of methods. The results where compared with their mean values and using ANOVA. JavaScript was the fastest, but it might not be enough for a developer to completely stop using frameworks. With JavaScript a developer can choose to create a custom framework, or use an existing one based on the results of this project.

A timeline through the architect Geraldo Vespaziano Puntoni.

Beck, Sebastian Friedrich 25 April 2017 (has links)
This research is a systematization of Geraldo Vespaziano Puntoni\'s carrier as an architect and public servant, having as a background his work on the Department of Public Building (DOP), where he stayed from 1960 to 1990. Beyond DOP, the architect was commissioned to work in five others institutions and companies: Educational Buildings State Fund (FECE), State Company of Houses for the People (CECAP), São Paulo Electrical Centers (CESP) and Municipal Company of Urbanization (EMURB) and Welfare Institute of São Paulo (IPESP). During his stay at those institutions, the architect had several experiences and was able to try many different architectural and urban expressions. Starting with the question \"What is the architect\'s role in the development of a country, state and city?\", I chose a professional that dedicated half of his 60 years of work to the elaboration of projects for public institutions in São Paulo. This research shows the story of a man and public servant. The idea behind it is to explore the realm of public politics of the studied period and investigate just how much of this scenario influenced and have been influenced by the architect Geraldo Vespaziano Puntoni. The main objective of this work is to study the story behind those institutions and relate it to the architect\'s story, along with the most important aspects of the culture and modern imaginary of São Paulo. The gathering of data, organization and restitution of the architect\'s work, known for being embedded with characteristics of modern Brazilian architecture, helps to enrich the discussion about the role of the professional and its relation to the development of the urban space in the studied decades.

Anad, Donya, Gong, Haojue January 2018 (has links)
In this bachelor thesis we research and discuss a theme that has been the focus for many feminist figures and groups in both older and recent content where they clash together in an effort to find a solution to a problem that has been plaguing our society. The problem being; a lack in diversity inside Game development companies and creation, thus our question becomes; how can We include or encourage more women to enter the digital world and participate in programming and game making. The methods that has been chosen for this thesis range from Critical Design: to design and create a unique game of our own, Interviews: to question women from different backgrounds and ages to find out what they want/wish for regarding games, to Kanban: where we use it to get our project together. All while linking this entire thesis to Situated Knowledge concept where we dive in deeper to what it means in the discussion part and how in our results we discoverer a way that we individually can use to change the gaming industry and its involvement.

Scheffer, Cilliers Albertus 30 November 2004 (has links)
This study was undertaken in order to investigate mentoring as a dynamic factor in leadership development. Although the subject matter is broad, - this particular study focuses on mentoring in ”Living Word Ministries” as part of leadership development. Methodology consisted of a theoretical and qualitative interviewing process. During the informal interviews, ”Living Word Ministries” was used as target group to investigate mentoring, discipleship, development time line, succession and development of leaders. In conclusion this study unanimously identified the lack of mentoring as crucial factor in ”Living Word Ministries”. Mentoring and discipleship as two related concepts in leadership development need to be incorporated into ”Living Word Ministries” and the body of Christ. Discipleship can therefore be used as a conduit for the mentor to develop leadership abilities of the prospective leader. / Practical Theology / (M. Ed.(Practical Theology))
