Winnipeg's cultural tour package research practicum

Liao, Sijing 17 June 2015 (has links)
A cultural tour package is essentially a travel package that bundles tourism products and services together with themes based on the destination's culture. Winnipeg's Cultural Tour Package Research project, proposed by Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO), is a project aiming to structure a tourism package centered at Winnipeg's performing arts and cultural attractions. Through the program, we identify customers' preference for the cultural items as well as the factors related to the preference. We also provide a marketing plan suggesting the direction of starting the program based on SWOT and marketing mix analyses. The research is contributable to both the marketing and the cultural tourism literatures. Also, in practical, the research stands at a macro level to demonstrate the benefits of integrating cultural items in Winnipeg and to suggest ways for WSO to cooperate with other cultural or supporting institutions to offer the program. / October 2015

A GROUP TRAVEL PLATFORM TO COOPERATIVELY MANAGE TEAMWORK AND FACILITATE COMMUNICATION

Xingyu Peng (6865865) 15 August 2019 (has links)
<p>This research aims to explore a new mobile application platform for group travel planning to improve the experience of communication and cooperation in teamwork. The inspiration was from my own travel experience. Being the leader or one of the people who managed the travel group during the past years, I realized that group travels have been full of fun. However, I also faced a variety of challenges at the stages of planning, preparing, managing, and accounting before travel, during travel, and after travel.</p> <p>According to the literature review, some general problems of group travel were found out. Dealing with the problems in planning, scheduling, packing, communicating, and cooperating with travel partners, and financial issues are defined as the most general travel stressors for travelers. Therefore, travel relieves our living stress, meanwhile, brings new stressors from the other hand. </p> <p>The research started off understanding the current market condition and main competitors through doing market research. Peer product analysis and product positioning map were done during the market research. Then the user study was conducted through an online survey, user interviews, and field research using observational study method. The design direction and target users of the research were defined afterward. The design process began with the brainstorming session, followed by going through App flow structuring, interface wireframing, and visual designing to come out with the mobile application – CooP, a group travel platform to cooperatively manage teamwork and facilitate communication.</p> <p>Thus, a map-list alternating planning platform was developed for more efficient planning in CooP. Users can switch between the map view and the list view to plan the route. Besides, the group checklists, tasks distribution, and group account features were designed to facilitate teamwork in planning. Additionally, A group chat platform was hidden in every page corners to improve group communication. The CooP can also split the group flexibly when different people want to visit different places separately. By connecting with physical devices, CooP can track the people for protection and safety.</p> <p>The usability testing of the post-travel evaluation gathered some future improvements that can be achieved later. From the perspective of technology, AI technology can be better utilized in providing suggestions and recommendations voluntarily based on the user’s data to enhance the efficiency and smoothness of the working experience. From the map perspective, providing a real route line between locations would be more preferred than the straight-line segments. The coop can recommend mid-way attractions for users to select. Overall, CooP achieved the goal of improving communication and cooperation in group travel planning. It innovated the traditional way of doing a group travel plan by combining different functions into CooP to create a multitasking platform which speeds up the process of planning.</p>

A Visit to the Priory: An Interactive Audio Tour

Malone, Caitlin A 27 April 2016 (has links)
The chapter house of the Benedictine priory of Saint John Le Bas-Nueil, currently located in the Worcester Art Museum, is an impressive piece of architecture. However, visitors are currently restricted to admiring the structure and its restoration only, as there is limited information presented in the museum about the room’s original use. The purpose of this project was to produce a low-impact, narrative-driven audio experience designed to increase visitor interest in the museum in general and Benedictine life during the twelfth century in particular. The prototype produced combines elements of traditional audio tours, radio drama, and question-and-answer interaction sequences to provide a self-driven immersive experience.

Právo z vadného plnění ze smlouvy o zájezdu / Claim from the incrorect fulfilment of the tour conract

Šuťaková, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the claim from the incorrect fulfilment of the tour contract, which represents a part of the legal regulations of a tour. Considering significant development of travelling, this topic is very actual and issues that arise during implementing the legislation in practice need to be answered. The goal of my thesis is answer questions which are actual and often appearing in practice, but it does not exist clear legal opinion or sufficient resources to answer to these questions. The main resources for the writing of my thesis was the current text of the Civil Code, the Tourism Act, the Consumer Protection Act and Directive 90/314 / EEC, which were compared with the new Directive 2015/2302 and the proposed regulations of the Civil Code. The diploma thesis consists of six chapters, including the introduction and the conclusion. The basic direction of the thesis is presented in the introduction same as questions. The main goal is answer to these questions. The content of the second chapter is the definition of the tour contract through several legal regulations, the definition of contracting parties and the related representation of their rights and obligations. The most fundamental part of this chapter for the diploma thesis is the presentation of the position of the...

As letras ramistas em dois roteiros de viagem do século XVIII / The ramist letters in two travel routes in the century XVIII

Araujo, Paula Held Lombardi 17 December 2007 (has links)
The object of this investigation is the research of the ramist letters [j] and [v] and its differences [i], [y] and [u] made in two travel routes in the century XVIII. Therefore, it is made a very detailed and exhausted selection of both handwritings and there is a map which illustrates the title of the documents. It is also studied grammar books used in centuries XVI, XVII and XVIII and they show whenever the use of [i], [y], [j], [u] and [v] took place in standard grammar. The bibliography of Pierre de la Rameé is used shortly, only to recognize the context of differences in the ramist letters [j] and [v] of [i] and [u]. In the chapter dedicated to toponym, the intention is to analyze the behavior of ramist and its variability in general. It is seen a special writing, a kind of [y] with a dash in the tail like [y], whose phonetic reference and semantic is translated, in tupi, in the word water. The analysis of both texts are close in chronologic and thematic aspects but different treats permit different and frequent manners of a certain time in writing history and reveal some tendencies in the use of ramist writing and its possible for this or that letter is taken by much more for author\'s idiosyncrasies than the normatization imposed by grammar books at that age.

From Batoni's brush to Canova's chisel : painted and sculpted portraiture at Rome, 1740-1830

O'Dwyer, Maeve Anne January 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines the city of Rome as a primary context of British sociability and portrait identity during the period from 1740 to 1830. Part I considers the work of the portrait painter Pompeo Batoni. It examines the pictorial record of grand tourist sociability at Rome in the 1750s, questioning the complex articulation of nationality among British visitors, and the introduction of overt references to antiquity in the portraiture of Pompeo Batoni. It subsequently interrogates Batoni's use of the partially nude Vatican Ariadne sculpture in five portraits of male grand tourists, dating from Charles John Crowle in 1762, to Thomas William Coke in 1774. Part II of this thesis considers the realities of viewing the sculpted body at Rome, recreating the studios of sculptors Christopher Hewetson and Antonio Canova. It postis the studio space as a locus of sociability for British visitors to Rome, drawing on the feminine gaze in the form of the early nineteenth-century writings of Charlotte Eaton and Lady Murray. The final chapter moves from the focus on British sitters to examine sculpture by Antonio Canova, framing it within a wider discourse of masculinity and propriety. Thte reception of Canova's nude portrait sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte and Pauline Borghese is considered as indicative of cultural anxieties stemming from new conceptions of gender.
