The thesis is devoted to discrimination in the labor market with the stress on the gender pay gap. The aim of the thesis is to assess the status of women in the Czech labor market with respect to different social categories and the analysis of wage differences in different job categories and types of jobs. The main focus of the text is a summary of various theoretical assumptions and concepts that are used to explain discrimination against women and finding the links with the recent demographic data. The text results in analysis of the above mentioned models it terms of their application to explain gender discrimination in the Czech Republic. The thesis results in the answer to the question whether discrimination in the labor market represents major social problem in the Czech Republic. At the end of this text various measures that, in my opinion, could lead to solution of discrimination against women in the labor market are described.

Thesis deals with currently discussed topic -- the medical use of cannabis -- the missing possibility in the current medicine state in the Czech republic. Despite the fact that cannabis seems to be very effective for medical use, official medical use of cannabis permitted by law can be observed in only few countries. Czech republic doesn't belong among these countries, however there are some tendencies to change current situation. The goal of the thesis is to stand up for medical use of cannabis in the Czech republic and to contribute to above mentioned tendencies to change current situation. To reach the goal thesis introduces theoretical background of medical use of cannabis which explains advantages of its use, but primarily in the empirical part in which compares current (without the use of cannabis) and potential costs (with the use of cannabis) of the treatment of multiple sclerosis comes with the conclusion that with the use of cannabis is possible to save 1 931 923 444,- CZK.

This thesis analyzes the interdependence of stock markets in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany and the U.S. between 1994 and 2010. Its aim is to prove or disprove the hypothesis that the correlation of stock markets is growing. Furthermore, it aims to determine whether the benefits of international diversification are important in the 21st century. The first part defines the basic terms related to this issue. The next section describes the historical development of stock markets and major stock indexes. The following is the longest chapter, which deals with the dependence of equity markets. The degree of dependence between markets is measured by correlation coefficients. In order to calculate the correlation coefficients 3 methods were used: 12-month, 24-month moving window and the exponential weighting. It was confirmed that correlation increases in periods of high market volatility and if the equity markets go up. Correlation decreases in periods of low market volatility and if the stock markets go down. There is a long-term increasing trend in the correlation development. The last chapter describes the recent study of P. Christoffersen, V. Errunza, K. Jacobs, and X. Jin, which also deals with this issue. Although the authors used more complex mathematical and statistical methods, their conclusions are similar. At the end of this chapter there is a study dealing with the benefits of international diversification in 2005 and 2009. Its conclusion is that the benefits of international diversification are disappearing.

The main goal of this thesis is to analyse market situation of Skoda Auto in the Czech republic during economic crisis, which began in autumn 2008. This thesis focuses on analysing situation in individual segments, where Skoda offers its products. Namely small cars segment, small MPVs, small SUVs, lower middle class and middle class. This thesis also features an analysis of used car market in the Czech republic, a research with experts, a SWOT analysis and a future forecast. The main source of data is a czech association of car importers and association of automotive industry. Conclusions are as follows : considerable fall of small cars and small MPVs segments, increase in sales in lower middle and middle class, loss of market share of Skoda in small cars and small MPVs segments, gain of market share in lower middle and middle class segments. One of the reasons is a higher ratio of private buyers in small cars and small MPVs segments. Private buyers are apparently more sensitive to economic crisis than firms. Situation in the rest of 2010 and in 2011 should be similar.

This graduation thesis is focused on the formation and development of unemployment in the present Czech territory. Emphsis is placed on areas most affected by unemployment, it is in Moravskoslezský, Karlovarský and Ústecký region. The theoretical section explores the reasons for high unemployment in these regions. In the practical part is solved the interrelationship between unemployment and population strukture by sex, age and education.

Models of EU financial market supervision Author: JUDr. Evžen Šťastný, LL.M. This paper seeks the optimal way of supervision of a single EU financial market. The reason for my research is that, based on the development of financial markets in recent years, the interconnection of markets, modern investment instruments and the strengthening of multinational financial groups allow for quick and easy transfer of capital and risk between countries and financial sectors. This forces us to reconsider the appropriateness of the currently used supervisory model. The paper analyzes models of home state supervisor in connection with supervision on a consolidated basis and supervision of financial conglomerates, the model of a lead supervisor and a single supervisor model with the unified structure and dual structure with the Union and national supervisory authorities. As the evaluation criteria were chosen costs for financial institutions, supervisory effectiveness, consumer confidence and political acceptability. The analysis concludes that the most appropriate model of supervision of a single financial market of the European Union is the model of a single supervisory authority with the unified structure. Práce se zabývá postavením žen na trhu práce v ČR v komparaci s EU. První část diplomové práce se věnuje legislativnímu rámci rovných příležitostí mužů a žen v Evropské unii a České republice, jejich institucionálnímu zabezpečení a podává přehled o základních pojmech. Druhá kapitola se zabývá postavením žen na trhu práce v ČR a Evropské unii, kde jsou analyzovány základní ukazatele trhu práce se zaměřením na situaci žen. Další kapitola se zabývá nápravnými opatřeními a možnostmi zlepšení pozic žen na trhu práce se zaměřením na gender mainstreaming, pozitivní opatření a možnosti obrany proti diskriminaci. V poslední kapitole je analyzováno postavení žen na trhu práce ve vybraném regionu ČR.

Tato diplomová práce je komplexní intraregionální analýza okresu Jičín. Zabývá se všeobecnou charakteristikou okresu, analýzou obyvatelstva, trhem práce, místní ekonomikou a infrastrukturou. Na základě poznatků z těchto kapitol jsem vypracoval SWOT analýzu okresu Jičín, která vyjmenovává silné i slabé stránky okresu, jeho příležitosti i hrozby. SWOT analýza také poukazuje na předpoklady a bariéry dalšího rozvoje okresu.

Práce se zabývá oblastmi - vzdělání žen, ženy na trhu práce, rovné postavení mužů a žen, gender role a jejich rozložení. Harmonizace rodinných vztahů a kariéry. Oblast výzkumu - postoj veřejnosti k problematice mužů na rodičovské dovolené.

Diplomová práce se zabývá metodami oceňování pozemků a jejich aplikací, kterou ilustruji na pozemku, jenž byl nedávno zobchodován za rekordní sumu za metr čtvereční v ČR a u něhož lze z veřejně přístupných zdrojů zjistit veškeré hodnototvorné faktory. Cílem je zjistit, zda byla cena zaplacená investory přiměřená, anebo nikoliv. Ocenění je provedeno pomocí šesti různých metod, a to metody srovnávací, indexové porovnávací, Naegeliho metody třídy polohy, reziduálním způsobem, Sammetovou metodou a oceněním podle předpisů. Součástí práce je i analýza pražského trhu se stavebními pozemky.
