Genderové nerovnosti na trhu práce v České republice / Gender inequalities on the labour market of the Czech Republic

Škorvagová, Nikola January 2021 (has links)
My work focuses on gender inequalities appearing in the Police of the Czech Republic, specifically police job positions requiring administrative work and field work which is primarily considered a masculine domain. I use an analysis of in-depth interviews with police officers who work in those places and I try to map how these women perceive and interpret gender inequalities in their jobs. how they deal with them and what role gender inequalities play in their decision whether to work in a masculine profession like this. The work uses the theory of gender perspectives, which builds on the argument that the labor market produces unequal conditions and unequal treatment for individuals who move here. The results of my work show that police officers are aware of the occurrence of gender inequalities appearing in various spheres in these positions. Respondents problematize some of the exposed gender inequalities respondents and indicate their possible solutions, some they perceive as natural and completely adapt to them. Keywords: gender, inequality, labour market, police

Evaluation of Urea Hydrolysis as a Biomarker for Detecting Pathogenic Vibrio Parahaemolyticus in Clinical Isolates and Raw Oysters

Mohammadi-Aragh, Maryam Kate 09 December 2016 (has links)
Vibrio parahaemolyticus (Vp) infection is commonly caused by the consumption of raw or undercooked shellfish. Raw oysters are associated with most Vp outbreaks. Pathogenic Vp express thermostable-direct hemolysin (tdh) and to some extent thermostable-related hemolysin (trh). Additionally, some pathogenic Vp express urease (uh). The objectives of this work were to discern any relationships between urease (uh) expression, tdh/trh expression, and hemolytic activity in pathogenic and non-pathogenic clinical strains, and to compare urease, motility, tdh/trh expression, and hemolytic activity in raw oyster isolates. This information would determine if urease could be used as a biomarker to detect pathogenic Vp. About 80% of pathogenic strains were uh+ and all non-pathogenic strains were uh-. Two oyster samples were uh+ and no tdh or trh was detected in raw oyster strains.

Krčálová, Kristýna January 2018 (has links)
Financial Market Regulation in the Czech Republic with a Focus on the Securities Market ABSTRACT: The financial markets constitute a foundation of every market economy and in recent years their regulation is becoming increasingly relevant for political-legislative decision- making process (mainly as result of the last world financial and economic crisis). This Master's thesis focuses on the securities market regulation in Czech Republic and its main purpose is to evaluate this regulation, primarily its development and impacts on the market as a whole, on an individual issuer of a security or (as the case may be) on an investor as well. The thesis itself is divided into five parts. The first one represents a theoretical introduction to the financial markets and analyses basic terms, financial market functions and structure. The second, third and fourth chapters deal with crucial entities influencing the securities market - a regulated market organizer, an investment firm, investment intermediaries and a multi-sided trading system organizer. Chapters especially strive to compare contemporary legislation with legislation as amended by the Act No. 204/2017 Sb., which generally comes into force January 3rd 2018 and which transposes important European secondary legislation regulations, such as Directive...

Finanční trh a jeho právní aspekty / Financial market and its legal aspects

Špaček, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
The master's thesis on the topic of financial market and its legal aspects aims to analyse the weaknesses in the legal regulation of markets in financial instruments. The thesis is divided into six chapters, introduction and conclusion. The chapters are divided into subchapters. The first chapter defines the financial market and deals with its divisions. Since the legal aspects of financial market are a traditional subject of the study of financial law, the basic concepts of this field are notoriously well known. The first chapter therefore describes only the basic division that is applied to the financial markets. It then goes on to compare existing definition of the financial markets that can be found in academic literature. The second chapter discusses the capital market participants. As certain concepts of financial market might suggest, many different persons might fall into the category of market participants. This chapter, however, discusses selected persons who provide their services on the market in financial instruments. It focuses mainly on investment firm because it provides investors with access to the capital market. The third chapter discusses financial instruments. The fourth chapter concerns investment services that can be provided in relation to financial instruments. The fifth chapter...

Teorie efektivních trhů, historie a současnost / Efficient market theory, history and present

Petrus, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
The main aim of thesis is to assess the validity of Efficient markets theory in a particular case. Efficient markets theory is a theoretical model of a financial market that is very similar to the model of a perfectly competitive market. Efficient markets theory gives an explanation of price movement of financial instruments. Efficient market is based on similar assumptions as a perfectly competitive market. These assumptions are not always entirely realistic. For this reason perfectly competitive market does not exist, it is only a theoretical model describing an ideal situation. The thesis answers the question of whether the Efficient markets theory also theory or vice versa reality.
