The thesis examines youth unemployment in European Union, specifically in Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic. The main goal of the study is to coherently evaluate a development of youth unemployment rate since 2005, and to find out its fundamental causes. The thesis is split into two parts. The first part covers a theoretical background of the chosen topic. The following part, firstly, investigates individual countries in terms of labour market development, impacts of the world crises, and educational systems. Subsequently, the rate of young unemployed people in the selected countries is analysed. The work investigates the development of youth unemployment rate, the long-term youth unemployment rate, the NEET, and the European Union actions.

In 2007 came into force amendments to the social security system in the Czech Republic. Agreed amendments aim to strengthen the motivation to enter and remain in the labour market, favouring those who seek to improve their situation through their own effort and unfavouring people living just on welfare benefits. There was thus a redefinition of the social benefits and their construction. And there was a significant reduction in unemployment in 2007. This thesis entitled "Developing long-term unemployment in the years 1998 - 2008" assesses the impact of these changes on the level of unemployment, special attention is paid to long-term unemployment. The work is not overlooked by the economic situation of the Czech Republic in the years 1998 - 2008.

This thesis is focusing on suggestions, which will lead to decrease in unemployment in the district of Prostějov. Unemployment is analysed by individual groups of population first and then are found out the problems of this labour market. Based on the analysis will be presented proposals to reduction of unemployment, which will be focused mainly on endangered groups of population.

This master´s thesis is focused on unemployment issues in district Blansko. It describes and analyses factors effecting unemployment in different categories. It is dealing with actual situation on the labor market in district Blansko, active employment policy and there are presented suggestions and recommendations to decrease of unemployment rate.

This master’s thesis deals with the problem of unemployment and its development in the district of Trebic in years 2009 – 2013. The work is focused of finding the causes of unemployment through labor market analysis, especially structure of job seeker. Some solutions that can help to reduce unemployment rate in the district of Trebic result from the conducted analysis. These are presented in the conclusion of the thesis.

The thesis deals with unemployment and employment policy in general and in the Prague- West region. Particular attention is paid to the issue of unemployment of persons with disabilities - in all regions of the Czech Republic these persons have lower chances of employment, I suppose that in the Prague-West region, although it is one of the regions with the lowest unemployment rate in the Czech Republic, this situation will be the same. The aim of the thesis is to describe the development of unemployment and the development of unemployment among people with disabilities in Prague-West in the years 2006 - 2016 and describe the employment policy in general and in the mentioned region. The labor market in the Prague-West region is significantly influenced by the proximity of the capital city of Prague. At the beginning of the period under review, the situation on the labor market was stabilized and there were no major fluctuations. Unemployment was low in 2006 - 2008, the situation changed with the arrival of the economic crisis in 2009, unemployment increased and increased in the following years, from 2015 until the end of the monitored period unemployment in Prague-West started to decline. This thesis' aim is to describe and assess employment opportunities of people with a criminal record. The theoretical part deals with the phenomenon of unemployment in general. The social and psychological aspects of the unemployment are described, as well as the possible impact of unemployment on society. Individual tools of social politics, which may be used to deal with unemployment, are discussed. The next part focuses on legislative features of the institution of Criminal record and on legislation that regulates the relationships between employers and employees. The practical part contains an analysis of job advertisements offering positions suitable for people with a criminal record. In the next chapter my aim was to analyse the situation of people released from prison; and to present opportunities for their support. The work of probation officers from municipal offices is described in detail. The thesis contains three case studies of people with a criminal record looking for a job. In the last chapter, organizations providing help and support for people with a criminal record during job searching are presented.
