Výnos, riziko a likvidita investičních možností / The yield, risk and liquidity of investment options

KRÁLOVÁ, Andrea January 2008 (has links)
The topic of my diploma thesis is {\clqq}The yield, risk and liquidity of investment options{\crqq}. In the introductory part of this thesis, I define the concept of investment. Furthermore, I deal with the financial market theory and with the characteristics of the subsegments which work within this market. I also define securities, their types and specifics. The next part of the thesis is aimed at the investment strategy which should help an investor to proceed reasonably while investing. Herein, I focused on the rules of the magic triangle and on the definition of the yield, risk and liquidity. I mention the theory of the investment portfolio as well. This is followed by the description of the selected investment options divided into subchapters about individual and collective investments; this being the selection of only the most important investment instruments one can use both in the money market and in the stock market. In the rest of the thesis, I deal with the creating of an individual{\crq}s investment portfolio and with the comparison of the yield, risk and liquidity of the selected options.

Hodnocení podílových fondů z hlediska vícekriteriálního rozhodování / Unit Trust Evaluation in Light of Multiple-Criteria Decision Making

Kaňoková, Jana January 2007 (has links)
The target of this work is to evaluate the unit trusts in light of the multiple-criteria decision making. The unit trusts are divided into the groups according to the investor categories: unit trusts with conservative, balanced and aggressive portfolio. The unit trusts were lined up by the medium of the multiple-criteria decision making methods (PRIAM, ORESTE, MAPPAC) and it is also made an analysis why have each of the methods chosen the particular unit trust in the group as the best compromise variant.

Attracting investment into South African property investment vehicles : evaluating tax

Fourie, Michiel Philippus Willem 05 May 2010 (has links)
South African property investment vehicles consist of collective investment schemes in property (CISPs), also known as property unit trusts (PUTs) and property loan stock (PLS) companies. The application of sections 25B(1), 11(s), 10(1)(k)(i)(aa) and 64B(5)(b) of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962 (“the Act”) and paragraph 67A(1) of the Eighth Schedule to the Act result in these property investment vehicles being taxed based on their legal form, that of a trust versus a company, rather than on their common purpose. The South African Revenue Service recognised these inconsistencies in the 2007/8 budget tax proposals and proposed that it be reviewed. In December 2007, National Treasury released a discussion paper on the reform of the listed property investment sector in South Africa. The discussion paper is aimed at adopting a real estate investment trust (REIT) regime in South Africa to make South African property investment vehicles more attractive to foreign investors as well as to address the current tax inconsistencies and fragmented regulation of the South African listed real estate sector. In this study, the current inconsistent tax treatment of these property investment vehicles is reviewed, both as to how they apply to the property investment vehicle and to their respective investors. This study further reviews how REITs in selected other countries are regulated and taxed and National Treasury’s proposals as to how REITs applicable in South Africa should be regulated and taxed. The value chain of a collective investment scheme and the impact thereof on the individual investor

Walters, Andries Blake 29 February 2008 (has links)
Collective investments have become a very popular investment vehicle in South Africa because it is, among other things, transparent, liquid and easily accessible. Growing investor knowledge, good market returns and its suitability for diversification, which minimizes risk, also contributes to its popularity. A value chain that adds value to the investor has developed around the collective investment scheme. The role players in this chain include the investment manager, the management company and financial intermediaries. The growth in this part of the collective investment industry has been so dynamic that regulation and the introduction of various new intermediary layers are constantly affecting the value chain and the value added for the investor. Research was conducted to assess the impact of the value chain on the behaviour of the individual investor and the effect this has on wealth creation. The literary review established that the environment surrounding this dynamic and interdependent value chain is well-regulated and that costs and investor behaviour could have a significant impact on investment returns. The empirical study revealed that the average individual investor recognizes the impact of the value chain on his investment, but perceives himself as being knowledgeable enough to avert ineffectiveness in the chain by ensuring desired investment returns through good investment decisions. Over-diversification and irresponsible switching between funds by the investor can, however, destroy value and negate the effect of long-term returns. / Business Management / M. Com. Le plan d’épargne d’entreprise / The company savings plan

Azzam, Abdelhadi 09 September 2011 (has links)
In the middle of the 20th century, the participation of the employees takes a new breath with the help of general de Gaulle. In 1947, he proposed the idea of a third way between communism and capitalism. In despite of this will of general de Gaulle, it was difficult for him to develop this project into practice. So a polytechnician consultant called Marcel Loichot, then tries to propose an operational model of participation which is at the same time a self-financing companies and a redistribution of capital to the employees The aim is mainly to allow the employees to accede to the production tools and at the same time to accede to the power in the firm. The schema proposed by Loichot is supported by Rene Capitant and Louis Vallon. The project is called the “pancapitalism” movement. This project was subjected to Mathey’s commission which expressed many disagreements with the movement. Besides, a lot of reservations were expressed by the labor unions and the employers. Finally, on 17 august 1967, two ordinances instaure a system of employee participation. Because of the resistances encoutered, the act n° 67-694 adopted is far from the expectations of the project pancapitalism. Even if the act contains some pittfalls, however it is a frame that can be used to support the construction of a new social project. As to the various legislative changes, the act of 1967 was revisited and focused to a scaling system of corporate finance. The acces to the capital by employees, even if it is still potentially massive and collective, does not allow to get an effective exercise power for the employees. Today, the schema authorizes principaly the hight classes of employees to access to the capital of their firm. This last element can be analyse as a polarization of the PEE. The device brings closer those hight classes of employees to the interest of the shareholders but never give them any power. The lower wages will undergo the full force of these relations of subordinationThe PEE, far from building a new social project has gradually shifted to a pure tool of corporate finance. Far from restoring power to the employees, it affects more intensely the reporting relationship and culminates in a kind of strengthening of the legal subordination link.

Vytváření investičního portfolia podílových fondů pomocí fuzzy metod vícekriteriálního rozhodování / Making an investment portfolio of unit trusts by using the fuzzy multiple criteria decision making methods

Borovička, Adam January 2010 (has links)
The thesis deals with investment decision making. It starts from the decision making situation about the making of an investment portfolio of the open unit trusts. The whole decision making process is described, namely the methodical approaches used in terms of the portfolio making procedure. Thus, the main part of this paper focuses on a detailed description of an algorithm of the fuzzy weight estimation method, fuzzy multiple criteria evaluation method and fuzzy multiple objective programming method. The methods are proposed on the basis of current concepts; they conclude the new ideas as well. The fuzzy weight estimation method is able to calculate the weights of criteria according to their linguistically expressed importance. The fuzzy multiple criteria evaluation method accepts uncertain input data in the form of the fuzzy numbers. The alternatives are evaluated by the concept of the preference relations. This method provides a division of the alternatives into the effective and ineffective. The fuzzy multiple objective programming method also works with the uncertain elements as fuzzy numbers. To solve the particular mathematical models, the Bellman's optimality approach is applied. The method is proposed in the interactive form. The decision maker can change a current solution by his/her additional (vague) preferences. The proposed concepts form the two-phase decision making procedure that is applied in the practical situation of the portfolio making in the field of the capital market with open unit trusts offered by the Česká spořitelna investment company. Two types of investors are defined, the investment situations are described, and the results are analyzed in detail. The decision making theory, the fuzzy sets theory and the capital market of collective investment, or with unit trusts, are introduced in a necessary scope. The instigation of my dissertation is to solve the real decision making situation. The investment decision making process is described and the methodical approaches are proposed in order to make the portfolio of unit trusts.
