Using system view to explain the development of mobile commerce

Chiang, Hsin-uan 13 September 2006 (has links)
Because of recently speeding up populization of the third generation mobile service, people raise the interest of researching mobile commerce again. This research will focus on studying the important factors of developing of mobile commerce, the relation of those factors, and the reason why mobile commerce could only success in Japen and Korea. When 1999 people start to pay much attention to research the mobile commerce, most telecommunication providers in developing country have highly investment on mobile service. But only Japenese telecommunication providers gain success at that time. During this period, academic circles and industrial circles constantly have research reports about mobile commerce. If we read these reports by their published years, we may find a revolving phenomenon: firms involving in developing m-comerce gained failure => related reports A published, and proposed some reasons of that failure and their suggestions => firms fixed their action by those reports, tried to develop m-cpmmerce again, but still faced failure => related reports A published, and proposed some reasons of that failure and their suggestions => firms fixed their action by those reports, tried to develop m-cpmmerce again, but still faced failure. So this research tries to probe into the m-commerce by study the history of developing of m-commerce, including collecting the firms¡¦actions and perspectives and the representive literatures and discussions. This research also believe that including this report, we haven¡¦t understood the m-commerce thoroughly. And the m-commerce is also changing by the increasing of bandwidth and the developing of new applicatons. And that the developing of m=-commerce needs the telecommunication firms, cellular phone firms and contant firms to collaboration to match the users¡¦pattern of each country. Depanding on the three factors above, we believe that we should hold a systematic and overall point of view to understand the m-commerce, not simplely by several key success factors or key failure factors. Depends on the case study in chapter 4, we have concluding a systematic analysis model. And we also compare the successful developing of Japenese and Korean m-commere. Finally we provide three dimensions of evaluatipn the developing project of m-commrce.

Growth strategy factor of Taiwanese small and middle business in China--Zhejiang Taiwanese business as an example

Lu, Yung-Feng 14 July 2003 (has links)
Abstract In the few years, because of so many incentives, such as low-paid but high-quality workers and the huge demands of the people, the Mainland China attracts a lot of international corporations to invest. Of course, the minor enterprises of Taiwan, the center people of Taiwan and the pioneers to be internationalized, won¡¦t be absent in this tide of investing. However, in the past reports those used the minor enterprises of Taiwan as the projects, they did more researches about the internationalization procession, or just made some discussions from the view of the internet about the extent of their internationalization or the performance of their operation; but less about the elements and the strategies of their operation in the strange places. Besides, it¡¦s still hard to have the whole understandings, if we only discussed the international investing of the minor enterprises of Taiwan just from the view of the internet. The reason is that the minor enterprises faced some problems of themselves internally, such as small organization and the lack of resources; so it¡¦s hard to talk about competing with someone in some place externally. Therefore, I combined the Network Relation with the Resource-base View, and refer to the Diamond Model, to discuss the internal and the external elements and the strategies in the procession of the growth and the operation of the minor enterprises of Taiwan. I hope those elements and the strategies can be the references for the following minor enterprises of Taiwan when they decide to invest in the Mainland Chain. Because the territory of the Mainland Chain is so huge that the main areas in this research will focus on the Taiwan enterprises those weren¡¦t mentioned too much in the past reports and are presently growing vigorously in the Zhejiang Province. Besides, the elements and the strategies found from the Taiwan enterprises in Zhejiang will be more valuable, because these enterprises faced more fierce competition caused the local private enterprises of Zhejiang also growing very vigorously. After deeply discussing with four enterprises, it came to the conclusion as follows: Because the minor enterprises have some disadvantages congenitally, when they are going to do the international investment, they should pay more attention to the invisible resources; especially the construction of the Core competence. In other words, they should gather the limited resourced in the niche and professional market to make their construction sound and sane step by step. Moreover, it¡¦s really necessary to establish the thick and fast network relationship rapidly in the procession of the accumulation. In addition, the business ambition of the leader is the key point for the continuous growth of the minor enterprises of Taiwan.

A generic construction process modelling method

Karhu, Vesa January 2001 (has links)
<p>A variety of modelling methods has been used to modelconstruction processes and projects, either during normalproject planning or for process re-engineering efforts orresearch. One common method, which is widely used byconstruction industry practitioners, is scheduling. In additionto schedules, some companies have used a simple box-and-arrowmethod, which graphically resembles schedules, for analysingtheir working processes. More formal methods such as IDEF0 havebeen used in re-engineering projects and by researchers. Allthese methods are limited in scope and cannot be used to modelall the aspects of the processes that practitioners areinterested in.</p><p>A new generic construction process modelling method, GEPM,was developed to overcome the deficiencies of the currentmethods. GEPM uses object-oriented principles, and has borrowedfeatures, such as activity, task, and temporal dependency, frommethods like IDEF0 and scheduling. GEPM is flexible in thesense that the conceptual model can be changed to achieveadditional special features. This capability is also supportedby the database implementation, which enables users to interactwith the developed process models through views that representpartial models. The views support the IDEF0, scheduling, andsimple flow methods. There are, though, rules for how toconvert between the partial models through views.</p><p>The evaluation of GEPM showed that more modelling features,i.e. modelling power, are obtained in comparison with theearlier methods. One of the essential features of GEPM is thedistinction between activities and tasks. Activities define howan action will be carried out, generally using predeterminedinputs to achieve a predetermined output, whereas tasks areactivities with additionally specified starting and finishingtimes, duration and location. Moreover, a task has atype-attribute that refers to an activity where its overalltemplate is defined.</p><p>Before the actual evaluation, case material from a realproject was preliminarily tested with GEPM along with theprototype application. It turned out that some additions wereneeded to the conceptual model of GEPM and to the prototypeapplication.</p><p>GEPM can be used for process improvement, processmanagement, and for enhancing communication in a constructionprocess. One usage scenario for GEPM is to define qualitysystems and reference models, using the activity sub-model andstoring the results in the GEPM database. A project-specificmodel can be derived from the reference model using conversionrules, and it eventually turns into a project specific-schedulewith tasks.</p><p><b>Keywords:</b>process, modelling, generic, method, model, database, view</p>

Lidijos Šimkutės kūryba / The creative works of Lidija Simkute

Saulevičienė, Ingrida 17 August 2009 (has links)
Darbo objektu pasirinkta poetės Lidijos Šimkutės kūryba. Poetinio žodžio talpumu, autentiškomis metaforomis Lidija Šimkutė išsiskiria iš dabartinės kūrybinės aplinkos, nepaklūsta laikui. Darbo tikslas – išanalizuoti L.Šimkutės kūrybą, atskleidžiant autorės asmenybės ir poezijos ryšį, nepasitenkinant tik pirmuoju kūrinių įspūdžiu, akcentuojant atskirų įvaizdžių prasmę. Siekiant šio tikslo nusakyta aptariamos autorės asmenybės ir eilėraščio subjekto santykis, atskleista poetės pasaulėjauta ir didesnę įtaką jos formavimuisi turėję veiksniai, sugrupuoti L.Šimkutės poetiniai tekstai akcentuojant eilėraščio kūrimo principus, išanalizuoti išskirtoms grupėms priklausantys eilėraščiai, ieškant esminių autorės poetikos bruožų. L.Šimkutės kūrybos pagrindas – žmogaus dvasinis gyvenimas, o išorės detalės tėra tik iliustracija, bet jos labai svarbios, padedančios atskleisti poetinio subjekto vidų. Jos poezijos, kuriai būdingos buities ir supančio pasaulio realijos, paprastas kalbėjimas, negalima pavadinti vien tikrovės vaizdu. Autorės poetinis tekstas suskirstytas į tris stambias grupes: emocijos, minties, vaizdo, besiskiriančias menamų meninių formulių specifika. Ryškiai L.Šimkutės kūryboje atsispindi ir susipina skirtingos pasaulėjautos. Šalia lietuviškosios ir daugialypės vakarietiškosios kultūrų atsiduria Rytų filosofijos ir etikos detalės. Poetei svarbus menas, muzika ir, aišku, literatūros pasaulis. Kadangi L.Šimkutė, kaip pati teigia, pasaulio žmogus, jai būdingos kelių kultūrų... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The object of the work deals with the creative works of Lidija Šimkutė. Lidija Šimkutė is significant due to the volume of the poetry and authentic metaphors. The aim of the work includes the analysis of the creative works of Lidija Šimkutė revealing the relationship between the author’s personality and the poetry mentioning not only the first impression of the works but emphasizing the meaning of the separate images as well. With the view to pursue the aim mentioned above, the ratio between the author’s personality and the subject of the poem was expressed; her attitude and factors having influenced the poet’s formation were revealed, poetical texts emphasizing the principals of creating the poem were grouped and the poems belonging to the different groups aiming to the basic characteristic features of the author’s poetry were analyzed. The creative works of Lidija Šimkutė are based on the spiritual life of a human whereas the external details are supposed to be just illustration; however, they are extremely important as they reveal the interior of the poetical subject. Her poetry which is characteristic by the realia of the trivial round and surrounding world and simple talking are not supposed to be nominated as a prospect of reality. The poetic text of the author is divided into three massive groups- emotional, notional and sight- different by the specification of imaginary artistic formulas. The different attitudes are dramatically reflected in the creative works of... [to full text]

Relational Views of XML for the Semantic Web

Atre, Shruti 01 October 2007 (has links)
The Semantic Web is the future of the Internet. It is the extension to the Internet in which information will be given well-defined meaning, enabling not only humans but also machines to find, share and combine information more easily. In the Semantic Web documents are not merely pages containing a set of words that form their content. They also encode the meaning and structure of those words. This enables various information retrieval techniques to be performed on the documents in addition to the ones restricted to keywords. The goal of this research is to explore a method for querying the Semantic Web using relational database theory and source transformation techniques. We take as input, documents annotated with XML mark-up and the information tags that we are interested in. We then extract and populate a relational view on the annotated XML documents using these tags and the implicit relations in the XML documents. We evaluate the feasibility of our system by testing on a variety of input and we also explore the kinds of queries that can be made on the extracted relational view. / Thesis (Master, Computing) -- Queen's University, 2007-09-27 10:56:13.513
