Robustnost Markowitzových portfolií / Robustness of the Markowitz portfolios

Petráš, Tomáš January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the problem of portfolio optimization in relation to the mean vector and the variance matrix of yields. The emphasis is put on Mar- kowitz model. In the thesis there are explored some possibilities of robustification based on the used parametric set. Beside the classic formulation of the task our focus is also devoted to the cases in which short sales are not allowed. The core of the thesis constitutes of a simulation study that models the impact of errors in the estimation of the input parameters of Markowitz model. It takes into account different types of risk aversions and different approaches to modelling parameter perturbations . Therefore it specifies the hypothesis of the dominating influence of the mean vector estimate which is valid only for a risk lover. 1

Significance, Influence and Signs of Consumerism Among Czech Children and Adolescents / Significance, Influence and Signs of Consumerism Among Czech Children and Adolescents

JOCHMANNOVÁ, Lucie January 2014 (has links)
My master's thesis deals with the issue of consumerism and consumer behaviour focusing on children and youth. The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes development of consumer behaviour and factors influencing it, such as social groups or advertising. It also deals with children's perception of brands and their impact on children's consumer behaviour. It describes the significance of consumer education in the context of the education system in the Czech Republic. It also deals with the consumer education systems and possibilities in the broader context of the European Union and other organizations. The practical part contains a lesson plan on consumer education and a pilot case study on consumer behaviour of a selected group of Czech children. The pilot case study asked two research questions: What do brands mean for the children? Do the children show signs of consumerism through their preferences and consumer behaviour? The results of the pilot case study are described in this section as well.

Studium dílčích inaktivačních mechanismů uplatňujících se při sterilizaci prokaryotních systémů v dielektrickém bariérovém výboji / Study of elementary inactivation processes acting during sterilization of procaryotic systems in dielectric barrier discharge

Bittnerová, Zuzana January 2011 (has links)
Presented master’s thesis is focused on the study of the elementary inactivation processes acting during sterilization of procaryotic systems in dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). Sterilization is an important biomedical and food-industry application and plasma sterilization is one of the methods, which are suitable for sterilization of heat and chemical sensitive materials. Biologically contaminated samples were treated in dielectric barrier discharge operated at atmospheric pressure. The discharge was generated in argon and in nitrogen. The plasma power density was 2725,93 mW cm–3 in argon and 2325,93 mW cm–3 in nitrogen. Gram positive bacteria Bacillus subtilis and gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli were used as a bioindicator. Bacteria were spread onto the surface of Whatman No.1 filtration paper. The influence of UV radiation, reactive species, heat and plasma discharge where the synergistic function of all of the agents was studied. Effects of UV radiation and temperature were studied separately. In order to separate the effect of UV radiation generated by DBD the quartz glass transmitting UV radiation was employed. During the plasma exposition selected samples were covered with the quartz window while other samples were directly exposed to the plasma. Covered samples were exposed to UV radiation and temperature (which cannot be eliminated), samples without quartz window were directly plasma exposed (treated). Results show that for covered samples the lower inactivation was reached than by the samples directly exposed to plasma. When studying the effect of temperature, the temperature between the DBD electrodes was measured by means of a thermocouple. Afterwards the samples were placed in an oven and exposed to the same temperature as was measured between the electrodes. By comparing the results of heat treated samples and plasma treated samples it can be assumed that the influence of the temperature during the sterilization process in DBD is very low. The discharge parameters were studied by means of the Optical Emission Spectroscopy. Plasma treated samples were assessed employing Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Damage of Bacillus subtilis cell wall due to the effect of plasma was observed while no effect of plasma on the structure of filtration paper was detected.

Vliv otce a bratra na výběr partnera u heterosexuálních žen v osobnostních charakteristikách / Influence of father and brother on mate choice of heterosexual women in personality traits

Zelenková, Klára January 2017 (has links)
Mate preferences and choices might be influenced by several factors, including close relatives. According to the imprinting-like effect, people prefer and choose partners similar to those with whom they grew up during childhood. The main aim of our research was to test, whether individuals choose their long-term partners on the basis of similarity (in personality traits) with their parent and/or siblings of the opposite sex (father and/or brother). The final sample of the study consisted of 211 heterosexual women (mean age = 27.34, SD = 5.36) who grew up with their father until at least 12 years of age. Respondents completed a set of questionnaires aimed at personality of their partner, brother, and father (NEO-FFI), the relationship quality with their father/brother during childhood (s-EMBU/QRI), and relationship satisfaction (RAS). Correlation and regression analyses have shown that heterosexual women choose partners similar to their fathers and brothers, especially in neuroticism. However, when compared correlation coefficients, it was found that fathers play a more important role. The retrospectively assessed quality of the relationship between the respondent and her father/brother during childhood did not have any effect on this similarity. Moreover, similarity between father/brother and...

Posouzení znalosti dietních a režimových opatření u pacientů s akutním koronárním syndromem / Assessment of dietary and regimen knowledge in patients with acute coronary syndrome

Eliášová, Marie January 2020 (has links)
Introduction: Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) belong to cardiovascular diseases and contribute significantly to mortality, morbidity and disability in developed countries. Therefore the aim of current therapy is to reduce the risk of subsequent complications, including early death, and to increase patients' quality of life. For successful therapy it is necessary to follow regimen and dietary principles which are along with pharmacotherapy an integral part of treatment. Therefore sufficient knowledge of these principles by patients is a basic precondition for their successful treatment. Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis was to assess dietary and regime knowledge in patients diagnosed with ACS. The specific objectives were: to determine an effect of sex or previous education on the knowledge; to describe patients' dietary habits; to specify their knowledge of nutrition; and to identify which knowledge is the most deficient. Methods: The research was carried out as a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was compiled directly for the purposes of this thesis and was approved by the VFN Ethics Committee for use in inpatient wards at II. and III. internal clinics and at the Coronary unit of II. internal clinics of VFN. A total of 80 patients diagnosed with ACS were included in the study....

Jak vznikala ÚSTAVA ČR; politický kontext, osobnosti, vlivy. / How the Constitution of the CR was formed: political contexts, persons, influences.

Fuksová, Veronika January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with topic of creation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis was to map all relevant circumstances that led to approval of the final form of the document in December 1992. The thesis is divided into chapters that deal successively with historical circumstances, sources of inspiration, various actors involved in the creation of the Constitution of the Czech Republic, the sequence of negotiations and finally with critical issues that provoked widespread debate. The question was how the Constitution was influenced by previous proposals and other sources. The finding that these effects were substantial and that actors of creation of the Constitution explicitly invoked them is partial result of the work. Another question was how the text of the Constitution itself was affected by specific political influences. Based on an analysis of various historical documents, it appears that an attempt to influence the constitution-making process by the government coalition was strong, however, in the result there were compromises in the framework of fundamental issues accepted because there was need to adopt the Constitution in the Czech National Council in December 1992, which was eventually successful.
