As water resources are rapidly being exhausted, more and more interest is focused on the desalination of sea water and brackish water. Increasing amounts of fresh water will be required in the future due to the rise in population rates, increasing living standards and the expansion of industrial and agricultural activities. The thesis is concentrated on current issues of treatment of sea water, mainly the desalination based on the distillation principle, in order to develop a unit for seawater treatment. The aim is to develop a compact modular unit for seawater desalinate on based on the implementation and evaluation of experimental tests on the experimental unit. The solution includes an overview of systems for treatment of seawater, a discussion of structural and material aspects of the units, design and manufacture of the experimental unit and confrontation the calculated values with the results of experimental measurements.

Evolution and advancements of human activity is unstoppable, still we should not forget about basic natural processes which proceed no matter how man can influence them. Water is one of the main constructors of life and is necessary for function of everything live on the planet Earth. It often is categorized among the inexhaustible resources, still there lacks enough drinkable water. It is consumption grows in recent years with fast development of cities. It is the most important part of life on Earth and with urbanization and anthropogenic interference water is negatively affected and thus it is processes in nature. Interfering with water cycle makes for higher occurrences of droughts and floods, the quality of water streams suffers. Urban areas lack the surface where water could soak into the subsoil and underground water resources shrink. Through all these influences with which we affect natural water cycles the need for water and its consumption grows in our societies. For effective use of water comes up the idea of using not only the drinkable water but waste water and other types as well. Sources can be various, rain water, reused water. The focal point of this thesis is to be the impetus of discussion concerning the use of rain water and directly cleaning and reusing the water which comes straight from our homes. Rain water fills up underground water resources and also could be used in place of potable water. Substituting the potable water in activities and industries where such a high quality water is not needed and could be easily replaced with grey water. Grey water, being the waste water that comes from our bathrooms, is easily cleaned and can be used for various necessities. Current state where the potable water is used in absolute majority of human life appears to be extremely wasteful and unecological. Use of grey water and rain water is a possibility of ecological and thrifty water management which could prevent environmental damages and save water resources for the next generations.

Educational programs have been created for conditions in terms of the analysis of the topic of Water in the landscape. The practical outcome of this work is the development of two educational programs - Life in wetlands and Waterworld (methodology for teachers). Furthermore, there are worksheets which were used in the context of the pretest, posttest-1 and posttest - 2 to evaluate effectiveness of proposed programs. Title: Involvement of muscle groups during specific ways of movement beneath the water surface Objectives:. The aim of the thesis is to find that selected muscle groups or leg muscles most involved in locomotion at specific ways to move the scuba diver under the water surface and also to compare the percentage of one intermeshing cycle are active muscles being measured, and what percentage of their involvement they vary from specific movements during the water surface. Method: The research was conducted by monitoring surface EMG measurements. The research group consists of five experienced scuba divers. Results are interpreted using tables and bar graphs using the functions in Excel. Results: The results show that most wiring muscles in modified breaststroke kick are rectus femoris (proband 1, 2), m. biceps femoris (proband 2, 4) and gluteus maximus (proband 3, 5). When freestyle kick It is vastus lateralis (proband 3, 4, 5). In Table 4, can be traced, the percentage of one intermeshing cycle will involve more muscles, and whether it was in freestyle kick and modified breaststroke kick. It is here to find some interindividual tendency as in Table 5 and Table 6, which show the percentage when the muscle enters into engagement cycle and terminating its activity in meshing cycle. This thesis pursues an evaluation of sectional trial operation of wastewater treatment plants in Mostiště, where the reconstruction has been started on 1st March 2012. A core of the works consisted of a complete reconstruction and intensification for providing a production of drinking water which suit tigtening law requirements on drinking water quality throughout the whole year and would be appreciated by users of drinking water. The necessity of the reconstruction and completion of a water treatment technological line came out of insufficiency -- worsening of raw water quality, bad technical condition of the whole line and some moral obsolescence of the line and especially of problematic quality of produced water according to specific indexes. An outcome of this thesis is an evaluation of efficiency and functionality of a modernized water treatment plant which is in trial operation for now, with help of chosen indexes controled after each separation step which are statisticaly processed into graphs and verbally rated.

There will be no life without water on Earth. Humans influence their surroundings more and more. There is less of drinking water every day. In a few years, absence of drinking water will be a big global problem. Therefore, we should learn how to manage with sources which we have. Especially, we should try to minimalize our influence on environment. This thesis is focused on problems with rainwater in urban area. The first theoretical part of this work is devoted to legislation in the field and possibilities of using rainwater. The practical part includes design of management of rainwater in office complex in Prague. In this second part is several variants which could be realized on this location.

This thesis deals with the issue of waste water treatments from small sources of pollution. At the beginnig, there are characterized wastewater and important indicators for measuring the concentration of pollution, then this thesis describes the different technologies and technological equipment used in the treatment of wastewater from small sources. In the practical part of the work is designed to upgrade the technological part for processing waste water for area businesses METRO NITRA. The first part describes curent conditions of selected wastewater treatment plant. Next part describes in detail the proposed technological part and evaluation samplings. Later in this chapter is described the economic value and the expected schedule of work.The aim is to design WWTP upgrade with the technical and the economic assessment.

This thesis titled Analysis of water quality in the reservoir Plumlov solves water quality issues of this water piece of work. The thesis includes a literature review on the topic of water pollution. In this literature review I address basic information about water, legislation related to water and characteristic of this chosen water piece of work. The field survey, sampling of reservoir and their evaluation in the laboratory are processed in the methodology. The results are shown in graphs which are described. In conclusion of my thesis is the overall assessment of indicators of the water quality. There are also summarized corrective measures for water in the Plumlov reservoir.
