This thesis deals with the comparison of selected topics from the political climate among students from both Germany and the Czech Republic. For this purpose, a survey of 108 Czech students from Charles University in Prague and 102 German students from the University Bremen was collected and the results were analysed. The research dealt with the claims rate of electoral and non-electoral participation, party preferences, whether left-right scale or support a particular party, the level of discussions about politics and watching political news, patriotism and attitude to European integration, civil society and direct democracy. The aim of the research is also a measure of political alienation and disgust with politics, media and confidence in the effectiveness of the state apparatus and not least the degree of knowledge about politics between Czech and German respondents. Each orientation is watched primarily by nationality of respondent, also according to gender in the whole group and in some cases also between the Czech and especially among German respondents. Where it was relevant, were also compared by field of study respondents. Diploma thesis focuses on media reflection of negative Czech parliamentary election campaign in 2002, 2006 and 2010. The main goal of this thesis is to find out, whether media did reflect at the time the use of negative political marketing by Czech political parties in the way Czech political scientists describe it. Theoretical part explains the principles of political marketing and characterises parliamentary election campaign in 2002, 2006 and 2010. Empirical part gathers results of quantitative content analysis that were made for each pre- election period 13 weeks before elections in Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny and Mladá fronta DNES. The results of quantitative analysis did not confirm the hypothesis that those researched newspapers would in the period of 13 weeks before election reflect higher use of negative political marketing.

The MA thesis aims to describe the development of local government in the municipality of Nižbor, which is located in the Central Bohemia Region near Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and the town of Beroun. The thesis includes a brief summary of the village´s history, its socioeconomic indicators and management, and also assessment of local elections focusing on the years 2006, 2010 and 2014.
The thesis also contains interviews with local councillors, at least one councillor from each list of candidates was selected. Some parts of the interviews were directly quoted, others were paraphrased.
The thesis also mentions political parties of the local political system, such as the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), political movement ANO 2011 (ANO 2011) and various associations of independent candidates.
The aim of the thesis is to describe the main socioeconomic indicators, to identify actors of the political process in the municipality of Nižbor and to define the character of the decision-making proces of its local government.

The diploma thesis deals with local government. The thesis is made as a case study. The first part deals with theoretical basic concepts and characteristics of municipality. Then the historical development of local self-government in the Czech countries is outlined there and also main specifics of local political process are described. The practical part deals with characteristics of chosen municipality, town of Pelhřimov which is located in the Region of Vysočina and the attention is concentrated mainly on the factors which could influence local government. The main part of the thesis is concentrated on development of local political scene and individual political player inclusive of citizen political participation. The emphasis is put on municipal elections in the year 2014. In the end discovered facts are summarized.

The theoretical section in each chapter deals with a brief overview of the issue of regionalization of space and social capital as well as basic geographic characteristics of the monitored area. The practical part of the thesis focuses on specific research that has been carried out on the basis of an analysis of secondary data and survey. The obtained data are processed and presented in the form of tables and graphs with subsequent evaluation and comparing the results with similar studies that have been made.

The diploma thesis "Some Features of Persuasive Language in Selected Presidential Campaign Speeches of Two Candidates" aims to investigate how the rhetorical device of conceptual metaphor is employed in the election campaign speeches of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney addressed mainly to the Hispanic voters to develop the myth of the American Dream. The political speeches were analyzed under the theoretical framework of the critical metaphor analysis and critical discourse analysis. Besides the analysis of the metaphorical concepts that support the myth creation, other rhetorical devices were examined in the selected corpus of the both speeches for their persuasive function.

This diploma thesis focuses on the topic of financing of political parties and political movements in the Czech Republic, which is still neglected and insufficiently regulated in our country. In the practical part, the focus is on the financing and monitoring of the election campaigns for the regional council elections 2016. It primarily deals with the evaluation of the transparency of candidates and their campaigns. The election campaigns of the political movement ANO 2011 and the political party ČSSD are analyzed in detail in this thesis with an emphasis on the analysis of transparent accounts of the two candidates. The mandatory establishment of transparent accounts and expenditure ceilings for campaigns, in force since January 2017, are a very positive move towards a transparent political environment. Combined with control mechanisms and a system of sanctions, they form the basis for building a more transparent Czech political scene and they are the cause for further reforms and widening of rules in the system of political party and movement financing in the Czech Republic.

The research deals with elections and e-voting solutions of elections, while the practical part is about the analysis and the implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party. The first objective is to provide knowledge that is necessary for the practical part of the thesis by research of these issues and already implemented solutions of electronic elections over the world. The second goal is to prepare the functional implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party. The analysis and solution proposal of the implementation are made to meet this goal. The author contribution consists in meeting goals of the thesis. During the thesis processing is done a research of elections and electronic elections. After acquiring this knowledge, the author made the analysis, solution proposal of the implementation and the implementation of electronic elections in the Free Citizens Party.

The goal of this study is to find out whether systemic changes in domestic politics and/or reorientation in foregin policy have taken place within the regional shift to the left. The paper is divided into four logically connected chapters. The conclusion is that, despite several partial changes in domestic sphere and a major emphasis in regional aspects of foreign policy, no aforementioned profound changes have occurred.

The political marketing established in the Slovak Republic over the time and became a relevant part of the Slovak elections. Presidential elections in 2014 showed, that there is sufficiently large space for the application of political marketing. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the election campaign of Andrej Kiska in presidential elections in 2014 in terms of usage of political marketing tools. The ambition of this work, is to show the extent and the exact form of the tools which were used in this campaign, based on the theoretical framework. Another object of this work is to describe, how was the results of presidential elections in 2014 perceived by Slovak public, how happy were the Slovak voters with the results of the elections and which arguments dominated in favor of Andrej Kiskas election.
