There are a beautiful views of the Pálava Hills. One of the basic ideas was to link the vineyards with the embankment. Therefore, the proposed buildings are divided into two parts - the Wine Center ( including production, presentation and sales) and a restaurant with a pension. The buildings are based on the traditional archetypal shape - a rectangle and a gable roof. The asymmetrical roofs evoke panorama of Palava. MORAVSKÉ VINAŘSKÉ CENTRUM BRNO / Moravian wine centre Brno

Vojtěšek, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
The city of Brno has always been a center of Moravian wine. The new draft of wine center responds to this reality and represents the grandeur of wineries in its full glory. Respect for nature, love for traditions and love for order/system are the main aspects of the design. The proposal is essentially open to the public, however, the necessary modesty is preserved. Conversely taciturnity of production part of buliding holds the secrets of the deep traditions of Viticulture and Enology. Designed buildings are used for production, wine storage, administration associated with the production, tasting and selling wine, conferences, accommodation and, finally, wellness and other activities. The size of the building is the result of an optimal design that does not interfere with nearby historical buildings. The emphasis is on minimizing costs both during construction and during operation. Flor plan shape resembling the letter L is oriented towards the west courtyard. This raises a unique viticultural area court with a wide staircase. The amphitheater can be used for seasonal exhibitions, pilgrimages or feast of local entertainment. The yard is connected with the street Hlinky, which paraphrases the historic entrance portals into winecellars. The northern part of the building bites into the ground and connects the original winecellars with new facilities. Small narrow windows reflects the desired taciturnity, just as it was with winecellars in South Moravia for centuries.

VINAŘSKÝ DŮM NIKOLSBURG MIKULOV / WINE HOUSE NIKOLSBURG MIKULOV

Valová, Markéta January 2020 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis was to design a winery house in the open landscape in a traditional wine landscape of Mikulov. The designed building serves as a four stars hotel with apartment rooms, restaurant, wellness, wine shop and a small wine farm with a storage of wine. There are unique views to the Mikulov city, Turold hill and surounding vineyards. The longitudinal axe is oriented on northeast–southwest. Majority of rooms, terraces and both atriums are directed on prospective axes. The object has one basement and three groundfloors. It is (situated) into the sloping terrain and constrasts with the wavy landscape of Mikulov for its racional and linear conception. It is inspired by terracced formations in near suroundings and uses it for its mass as well. It creates a new landscape dominant that remainds the geological formation of limestone situated in the surroundings of the Mikulov city. The regular rhytm of windows on facade refers to the Mikulov´s renaissance. The regular placement of window openings, and their rhythm are inspirated by Mikulov renaissance. Smaller holes, glass surfaces, light color of facade, green roof and shielding elements prevent from overheating the object during the summer. The water element in the courtyard offers pleasant refreshment for the visitors.

Two upper floors are receding with comparison to the first floor. This formed a part of terrace which is connected with the oval part on pillars. Basement is situated completely below ground, only the south side is partly uncovered. Construction is made of reinforced concrete. Ground floors are with ventilated frontage. Frontage of the first floor is covered with wooden cladding, and frontage of the second floor is covered with plaster. Vertical constructions are made of lime-sand blocks and horizontal constructions are reinforced concrete. The roof is built of wooden trusses with arched upper part.
