Previous issue date: 2014-03-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Working has a social importance that goes beyond sustenance and survival to the working class. However, in the last decades, the world of work has suffered importantly changes as precariousness, outsourcing and rights flexibility. In front of these circumstances, the access and permanence in the world of work are seen as a challenge. Yet, to youngsters who are inside the more underprivileged class, this challenge is expressive, once they are part of a vulnerable portion of society that heavily suffers from the world of work reorganization effects. This research aims at understanding the process of preparation and insertion of young people in the world of work in Ponta Grossa (PR), through the public policy of professional qualifications. The youngster’s insertion in the labor market is thought having as a reference the parameters of the Decent Work. Thus, the insertion in the labor market is not enough, it´s necessary to be worth, safe and with free conditions, as says the third priority from Agenda Nacional do Trabalho Decente para a Juventude no Brasil (ANTDJ). And so, aiming at identifying which professional qualification courses are offered by the public policy concerning to the researched local, it was done a mapping of the courses. According to the data collected and having as a parameter the third priority of ANTDJ, it was established as the chosen part of the research the qualification offered by the law: Learning Law n. 10.097 (that was amended by the decree n. 5.598/2005), since it provides theoretical/practice learning, inserting apprentices into the labor marked, in a ruled form, in order to improve students’ practical part. Searching for comprehending the way it is structured the professional qualification by means of the Learning Law, it was done semi structured interviews with professional qualification course managers by means of mapping. Thereby, it was possible to verify that professional qualification coming from the public policy, in the context of the research, with very few exceptions, is directed towards specific professional training with low complexity, reproducing the historical division between the ones qualified to do simple activities and the ones qualified to act in more intellectualized areas. In what regards to the qualification which comes from the Learning Law, it was possible to identify that, even relating to restrictions concerning to training areas and the difficulty in the implementation, the qualifications provide a worth and safe insertion, and it is a mechanism that contributes to achieve the parameters of Decent Work.

January 2015 (has links)
Abstract: Our objective was to investigate the work of righteousness production conditions in Brazil and its impacts on the health of the labor judiciary from 2003 to 2014, a period that marks the beginning of the Constitutional Amendment number 45/2004, which caused significant changes in the Brazilian Judiciary in particular in the labor courts, which was expanded competence, through the new wording given to art.114 of the Federal Constitution. In these ten years of the judicial modernization, "chatty modernization" permeated by business logic, there was the introduction of informational-organizational technologies, in addition to the management shock, which is nothing but the electronic court case coupled to Toyotist management. In this transition process, the judges of first instance of the Labor Court failed to report the dimensions of the work precariousness and health through interviews and empirical data collection. With the data, we found that the profile of the labor judiciary in Brazil has been gradually changing face, a scenario that was predominantly male, is giving way to a process of feminization and juvenization that has expanded within the Justice, mainly in labor courts. / Mestre

The dimensionality of the work and meaning inventoryFinch, Jenna Diane 10 September 2014 (has links)
M.Com. (Industrial Psychology) / Research has linked the construct of meaningful work to a variety of positive individual and organisational outcomes (cf. Rosso, Dekas, & Wrzesniewski, 2010). As such, the measurement and cultivation of meaningful work within the workplace can aid organisations in the promotion of a purposeful and energetic workforce. To date, South Africa has not developed or validated a meaningful work measure, which is problematic when it is considered that differences in culture have been shown to affect responses to items on specific psychometric measures (Meiring, van de Vijver, & Rothmann, 2006). It is therefore essential that the psychometric suitability of an instrument be established prior to it being applied within the country’s diverse population. This study examines the reliability and validity of a meaningful work measure in the South African context. Specifically, the dimensionality of the Western-developed Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI) is investigated using a South African sample. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was adopted using a sample of South African working adults (N=300) within the Gauteng province. The results of CFA and EFA did not provide support for the original three-factor WAMI structure. However, theoretical and statistical support was found for an adapted twofactor version of the scale. Limitations and recommendations for future research are discussed.

African women in a western workplace : an ethnographic case studySchoeman, Martie 21 July 2006 (has links)
This study contributes to the limited academic knowledge (particularly anthropological knowledge) available on the working behaviour of black women workers. The study focuses on how black women workers perceive and experience certain western work values within a western workplace. A problem that constantly arises in South African industry is the correlation between work values and working behaviour. Hence, the study focuses on the African-oriented value judgements and life- and world-views of black women workers manifested in a South African factory and the perceptions of these women regarding selected western work values. The working behaviour of the black women workers, as employed at Automotive Mouldings cc (AMM) and their culturally determined value judgements and life¬and world-views concerning certain requirements and elements within the western labour system in general, and specifically at AMM, are examined. The empirical study provides an ethnographic description of the perceptions of black women workers at AMM of western work values and their working behaviour in the workplace. The culturally determined attitudes of these black women towards "work" are discussed. These selected western work values include career awareness, individualism, thoroughness and alertness, time concepts, discipline, communication, motivation to achieve, diligence, responsibility and accountability as well as work status. These western-oriented characteristics (criteria), however, are not necessarily present in the work value systems of black women workers. This creates conflict and reduces productivity within the workplace, as the working behaviour of the black women workers, in many instances, contrasts with western-oriented organisational values in general. Thus, it is difficult to predict the working behaviour of black women workers or to judge it from within western employers' own cultural frameworks. In order to prevent or reduce conflict in the workplace, and to enhance productivity, it is essential that employers are aware of the perceptions of western work values and working behaviour of traditional Africans in general, but specifically the working behaviour of black women workers. / Dissertation (MA (Anthropology))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Anthropology and Archaeology / unrestricted

Germens de trabalho associado no MST /Santos, Selma de Fatima. January 2016 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The content of this dissertation is the result of a research project whose aim was seeking to understand the dilemmas posed in the work as a human activity required for the reproduction of life, but above all as emancipatory human activity within the Rural Landless Workers Movement - MST. We start from the understanding that the conquest of the land simply does not substantially change labor relations towards emancipation of the landless workers. This reflection resulted in the following three chapters, which present different forms of work today: estranged working, self managed and jutting out into the historical development: (associated work). In the first chapter we tried to approach the estranged work in capitalist society, specifically in agribusiness areas, (this to be present in the immediate reality of the landless where many camped workers or settlers sell their labor power), as well as the organic relationship the estranged work and private property of land, labor and means of production. Here perpetuates capitalism magic formula: the more wealth produces through his work, the poorer becomes the worker, (material and spiritual poverty). In the second chapter, based to reflect on the attempts to overcome the estrangement of work in the areas of fighting and winning the MST in the light of an experience of self managerial work organization, which has potentially work associated germs. This experience, held in COPAVA (Agricultural Production Cooperative - Grandma Apare... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre
