How to improve the work process and create basis for future design desicions by using a contextual design methodÅberg, Sabina January 2012 (has links)
Advertising Services on the Internet today are available for all kinds of purposes. Because of this it also increases fraud and ads with questionable content, to avoid that such advertisements are published, it is important that the advertising companies review their ads before they are published. This thesis has been carried out in an advertising company, dealing with job offers. The company is stationed somewhere in Europe. The ads are scrutinized by an external company whose the services advertising firm hires, the idea of the thesis is to create an understanding of how the work works on the audit firm, and to identify what can be improved with the assessment tools used to examine the ads today. This has been done through contextual interviews on-site at the audit firm. The results of these has then been visualized in five different work models: (flow model), (sequence model), (artifact model), (the cultural model) and (the physical model), Beyer and Holtzblatt (1998). The idea behind these models is that they should act as a basis for new design decisions and contribute to an understanding of how the work of the audit firm is done. The report will also present some design proposals that emerged from the facts found in the work models, which can improve the current solution. All information in this report is intended to act as a support for the advertising company when they are designing new solutions related to the review of job announcements.

Från top down till bottom up : - Att förklara och utvärdera psykosocialt arbete inom hälso- och sjukvårdenLandpers, Håkan January 2010 (has links)
Today, activities funded with public funds needs to present relevant and reliable information which shows the results obtained. Requirements increase in welfare activities to be run based on scientific, empirical knowledge. This applies particularly to social work. The social work is, however, poorly researched in areas such as knowledge of interventions in the content, context and effects. One way to evidence-base social work can be to conduct regular and qualified assessments. To evaluate, however, is complex, and knowledge of the evaluations are deficient in those who plan and execute them. The overall aim of this study was to conduct a systematic literature review to identify key evaluation models to the psychosocial work in health care services. A further aim was to develop an evaluation design for the psychosocial work of kuratorsenheten, Falun Hospital. The evaluation models are presented in the paper based on categories of “top down” and “bottom up ", and" other models ". With the help of some key concepts for the evaluation of social work, the conclusion of the meta-theory of critical realism, conducted the study analysis. The results show that the models relevant to the evaluation of psychosocial work in the health services are mainly oriented towards a bottom up perspective. The models are process evaluations, user-oriented models, stakeholder assessments, self assessments, and goals - performance evaluations. The evaluation design of kuratorsenheten also presents a number of elements in the psychosocial work which is central to document, for the opportunity to explain, evaluate and develop the business forward.

(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Media companies are changing and these changes directly affect journalists' work activities. This is because the current journalism suggests the dynamism, resources and communicative activities that started to impose on the journalist an increasingly vast range of knowledge, demands and much more comprehensive and specialized professional routines, while experiencing new functions and functional frameworks. This work sought to understand, based on bibliographic research, of an exploratory and interdisciplinary nature, in areas of Social Communication and Digital Technology, the transformations of journalism, of professional practices and requirements with a focused eye to visualize and interpret the interferences and professional changes with journalists. The objective was also to reflect on the implications that technologies, applications and digital languages imposed on journalists' work activities. The reflections were also based on and grounded in field research, with a qualitative profile and carried out through an in-depth interview with professionals from traditional and digital media outlets. Analyzing the factors and routine of the journalist today, one of the first considerations is about how unquestionable and unforgiving the crisis that the media are facing. There is another undeniable fact embedded in such a discussion: journalism and news, duly produced and substantiated, will continue to be necessary, significant and contemporary, because they represent complex... Hybrid work models : Digital tool usage in a hybrid higher education environmentAndersson, Julia, Johansson, Robin January 2022 (has links)
The changing environment during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased demand for hybrid work formats. However, the research field merely focuses on hybrid work formats that were planned for. Generating knowledge regarding hybrid learning and how it can help those who intend to integrate it into their organizational settings is the purpose of this study. With this qualitative study we aim to make contributions to this research gap by exploring the research question “How are digital tools used for hybrid learning in higher education environments and how does it change the conditions for learning?”. The method used is a case study, in which we interview five respondents with differentiating experience of conducting hybrid learning. We found that digital tools are used similarly in both hybrid and non-hybrid higher education environments and that there had hardly been any kind of investments made towards hybrid work methods. We also found that hybrid learning works well for the traditional one-way communication lecture form but not as well for interactive lecture forms. Because this lecture form is important for deeper learning, in the context of this study hybrid learning is not perceived as an adequate lecture form. In addition to contributions to this research field, we aim to contribute to the practical usage of digital tools within hybrid work models.

A computational approach to situation awareness and mental models in aviationMamessier, Sebastien 20 September 2013 (has links)
Although most modern, highly-computerized flight decks are known to be robust to small disturbances and failures, humans still play a crucial role in advanced decision making in off-nominal situations, and accidents still occur because of poor human-automation interaction.
In addition to the physical state of the environment, operators now have to extend their awareness to the state of the automated flight systems. To guarantee the accuracy of this knowledge, humans need to know the dynamics or approximate versions of the dynamics that rule the automation.
The operator's situation awareness can decline because of a deficient mental model of the aircraft and an excessive workload.
This work describes the creation of a computational human agent model simulating cognitive constructs such as situation awareness and mental models known to capture the symptoms of poor human-automation interaction and provide insight into more comprehensive metrics supporting the validation of automated systems in aviation.
