In Brazil, the Family Health Strategy sets up a reorientation of the health care model in which a multidisciplinary team monitors the health status and promotes actions to a number of families within a territory. The conditions under which these professionals have their work may trigger mental suffering causing stress. The Community Health Worker is one of the central actors in the work process in health care to the Brazilian model. In Parnaíba/PI, these workers seem to be exposed to situations of physical and/or emotional stress during the performance of their duties. This perceived by the researcher in his work routine at the municipal Support Center for the Family Health, brought the interest and motivation for the research. In order to understand the psychosocial factors triggering at stress at work in the perception of Community Health Worker, it was decided to conduct an epidemiological cross-sectional study. Using a quantitative and qualitative approach, we attempted to apply a stress assessment questionnaire with all the research population, in addition to conducting a focus group to clarify the results. The final sample, the majority were women (73.2%), over the age of 30 years (74.3%), with technical training (26.2%) and graduate (24.4%) and exercise time in profession and in SUS higher to 14 years. The territory of the Third District (31.55%) was the most represented in the study. The main founded psychosocial dimensions was related to relationships, changes and control. The narratives of the focus group revealed that: workers understand well the position they hold; the support of the head is less than that of colleagues; there excessive assignment added to violence in the workplace; the agent's autonomy is still limited to the technique; the needs of the service and the lack of prior notification promote discontent among professionals and the community. The most prominent was the dimension of relationships beacause the links established with the community, staff and municipal management are not as valued and can be broken. It is believed that a more organized work and guided by the humanization can bring healthier workspaces, avoiding the illness and even the Burnout / Mestrado / Epidemiologia / Mestre em Saude Coletiva

Johansson, Anna, Pettersson, Carina January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how social workers reflect on the leadership of their closest manager, and the significance of leadership in relation to their working conditions. Two social workers, working in child welfare social services, were interviewed. The informants described that a manager who was responsive to the needs of their employees, was clear in his/her communication, and showed an active interest in the wellbeing of the employees influenced their working conditions positively. Furthermore, the informants experienced that a manager who communicated in an unclear way, showed a lack of understanding of the needs of the employees, and did not give enough social support negatively influenced their working conditions. These results were in parity with earlier studies. The importance for future social services to focus on the development of a leadership favorable for the working conditions of social workers was discussed.

: En studie om hur flexibla arbetsförhållanden villkorar könsnormer / When you work at home, do you empty the dishwasher? : A study about flexible working conditions and its impact on gender norms

Persson, Matilda January 2022 (has links)
In this study I aim to examine how flexible work conditions affect gendered norms in the workplace and in the family constellations, and through this knowledge contribute to how organizations can increase their awareness about gendered norms. The theoretical framwork is based off West and Zimmermans theory Doing Gender, with compliments from Joan Acker andthe theory of inequality regimes. The study is based of 7 semi-structured interviews with women who have flexible working conditions evolving their ability to control time, space and implimentation in thei work.  The results show that flexible work conditions can have a catalyzing effect on gendered practices in organizations. This is presented by the way the women in this study chooses to use the time they "save" buy flexible working conditions, which is mainly used for family affairs and childcare. Also by the way women express guilt towards family and work when they can´t meet the avaliability demands from the private sphere and the work sphere. Although the women in this study does not experience external expectations to take more responsibility around the home and children, it is still expressed buy them as "natural" since they have more time. This shows that the doing of gender is present in these actions. It is not based on rational divisions between men and women but rather the socially constructed idea of women being more suited for domestic work. Organizations contribute to the doing of gender by being unaware of how these norms can be reproduced through flexible working conditions. Organizations keep feeding the norm of the ideal worker which functions as a gendered process. It´s important for organizations to increase their awareness of this phenomenon in order to create structures which will promote flexible working conditions as something for everyone and not only women. I believe this study can contribute to that awareness and help organizations to start reflecting on the doing of gender in their workplace.

Återvinningscentralernas arbetsmiljöproblematik : En enkätundersökning om arbetsmiljön på Sveriges återvinningscentraler / Workplace Issues at Recycling Centres in Sweden

Kjellsson, Moa January 2022 (has links)
With increasing volumes as well as types of waste which are recycled, the pressure and need of employees at recycling centres is likely to increase. It’s been reported that employees within the recycling line of business are at greater risk of experiencing workplace related accidents or illness compared to the total workforce in Sweden. Good working conditions are necessary for workers to maintain good health and contribute to a sustainable society, both economically and regards to public health. The aim of the study was to identify today’s most pronounced workplace issues at recycling centres in Sweden. The study was designed with the intention to acquire knowledge of the ways those issues were resolved as well as what else would’ve been required to create a better work environment. The study was conducted using a web survey that was sent to 120 Swedish recycling centres randomly selected. 48 recycling centres took part of the survey. For the majority of those who responded the main workplace issues were traffic, threats/violence, risk of falling or getting crushed or handling of hazardous chemical waste. Some good examples of how to reach a better work environment were presented. Remodelling of the layout or building a new recycling centre was the most required way to proceed to improve the working conditions. Also better cooperation between co-workers as well as between recycling centres in different areas of Sweden was suggested.

Working conditions and retirement : Can improved working conditions extend an individual's time on the labour market?

Sedehi Zadeh, Noor January 2018 (has links)
The objective of this essay is to investigate if working conditions affect the retirement age and additionally, aims to explore the differences in the effects between women and men. This study investigates this by using data of individuals living in Sweden in 2012 that were between the age of 63 and 74 (i.e individuals that are born between 1938 and 1949) retrieved fromStatistics Employment Register (Sysselsättningsregister). To complete the information, Statistics Sweden, conducted a survey on behalf of Anxo et al (2017) to 20 000 randomly selected individuals that included questions about the individual’s previous working conditions at point of retirement or at age 64 if the individual stayed above the age of 65. The result strengthened the idea from previous research that possibility to choose when and how to work decrease the likelihood of retiring earlier, hence, extends the time on the labour market. Additionally, the results indicated that psychologically demanding jobs and monotone tasks increase the probability of retiring earlier. Some results were rather counter-intuitive where the working conditions: physical demanding job, working under time pressure, number of working hours and working unsocial hours increased the likelihood for an individual to stay longer in the labour market. Additional findings in this essay that contradicted prior studies is that socializing with co-workers outside of work and the possibility to combine family and work increases the probability to retire earlier, hence reduces the likelihood of a later retirement.

A Quantitative Study to Examine the Relationship between School Administrators’ Path-Goal Approach and Teachers’ Perceived Working Conditions

Stark, Tierra 01 May 2022 (has links)
The purpose of this quantitative study was to examine the relationship between school administrators' path-goal approach to leadership and their teachers' perceptions of working conditions. Findings from this research may help school administrators and leadership preparation programs to understand better the application of theories related to motivation, leveraging power, and goal attainment. The conceptual framework behind this study was the inherent inclinations of school administrators in approaching leadership decisions from four pathways; directive, supportive, participative, and/or achievement-oriented. For use in statistical analysis through the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), data were collected via a questionnaire to currently practicing school-based administrators regarding their path-goal approach to leadership and a download of the publicly available teacher working conditions survey results from teachers as matched to each administrator respondent. The data were analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 0.05 level of significance. Six research questions were addressed by testing the null hypothesis. The results revealed that there were no statistical differences in teacher working conditions survey results between administrators with different tendencies toward any one path-goal approach to leadership.
