This dissertation deals with breakdown of landscape in proximity of pilgrimage site Lomec in South Bohemia. This location was chosen on bases of personal visit and obtainment of basic knowledge about the general area. While determining the part of the area for this work, all key values and elements, that are characteristic for local landscape, were taken into account. The dissertation is made of two parts. The first part is general (theoretical) and the second part is specific (analytic). The general part deals with given issue and introduces introduction to the topic. The specific part contains the own work of the author, which besides other things embodies the main contribution of this work (mainly some of its parts, in catalogue). Aim and outcome of the work is to create analysis (in a form of catalogue) of the area, first mentioned in second paragraph of the abstract. For this purpose data obtained during own terrain survey is used. Findings from all available literar sources, pertaining to the current issue, are being used.

Economy of the Czech Republic belongs to successful recipients of foreign direct investments, which bring various positive effects. Most important is job creation by foreign investors and their local subcontractors. Other effects are increase of labor productivity, new technologies and management know-how. Masters thesis describes the issue of foreign direct investments, their effect on unemployment focusing on Louny district.

Territorial Disputes in South China Sea Abstract This diploma thesis deals with territorial disputes in the South China Sea and its participants. The aim of the thesis is to describe legal titles of all participants of the dispute and analyse their claims for areas in the South China Sea. The reason of the territorial dispute is based on the proximity of countries and the fact that the South China Sea contains a number of features that are claimed by surrounding countries whose claims exclude. Moreover, one of the participants - China, claims nearly 90% of the whole area. The thesis also describes provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea that are significant for the territorial dispute, as well as, means of the conflict solutions of the dispute provided in the Convention. The Philippines as one of the participants of the dispute decided to initiate arbitrary trial in order to find amicable settlement. The arbitrary tribunal ruled in favour of the Philippines in that matter, however as final chapter provides, China decided to ignore the arbitrary award and continues to supress other countries. This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the cash machines accessibility in the area of České Budějovice. The accessibility is created by using GIS tools and is made by different methods in the different concentration of the cash machines in the specific urban areas of the city. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The chapters in the beginning concern with the introduction, literature summary and theoretic part of the thesis. The final results were based on the theoretic part. In the methodology there are highlighted data collection, the work with GPS and mainly making space accessibility by using GIS tools. There are also described using methods which the final maps are made by. In the last and the most important chapter are the final results description, obtained data, maps creating and the summary of the space accessibility. Then there is in this part the recapitulation of the concentration, description and follows a summary of the bank machines location according to the urban areas in České Budějovice.

The diploma thesis deals with the delimitation of suburban hinterland of city of České Budějovice, typing here lying settlements, especially suburbs, as well as the local development of suburbanization. First, the geographical environment characteristics of near hinterland of České Budějovice, which influence suburbanization, are described. Next chapter is devoted to post-socialist suburbanization literature and the definitions of various types of suburban settlements. In the analytical part, the diploma thesis defines the suburban settlements of the hinterland of České Budějovice through town houses presence, through migration from cities and other urban settlements and through commuting to work in the opposite direction. In total, there are 23 suburbs of the suburban landscape defined, 20 suburbs of near rural landscape, 5 suburbs of distant rural landscape and 5 townships of agglomeration, in addition also 26 rural settlements with partial suburbanization. In the diploma thesis there are a lot of tables and descriptions of the characteristics of the observed settlements.

The territorial protection of historical monuments has been ensured by law since the fifties and the preservation of landscape complexes is more and more emphasised. In the Czech Republic, there are 40 town heritage reserves and 61 village reserves. Cores of historic cities futher protected by 209 town heritage zones nad 164 village heritage zones. Then Conditions int the Czech Republic call for an individual aproach that might be of interes for small historic cities and villages and their micro-regions. The regional development in rural areas, especially in village heritage reserves and village heritage zones should be improved very quickly. This fact has to be reflected in the strategy of the rural areas development as well as in the local resources affordable for safeguarding of culture heritage. The strategy of social and economy development programme should be based on support and use of 2 basic items {--} a city in which the unique character must be protected for future generations and a city as a high quality place for life and work for its citizens. For taking this strategy program in life is high level of cooperation between public on one side and municiple offices and government on the other side really key and necessary. The fact is that regional development and the territorial protection of village heritage zones and reserves are quite important issues at the time and their importance will be increasing in future. It is necessary to create a database of technological procedures of heritage skills and crafts, information how to get financial support etc. and support the publishig of the saved knowledge and its distribution in all sites. This is the only way how to save our cultural treasure for future generations.

This thesis attends to the valuation the effectiveness of selected industrial zone focus on newly created jobs. Firstly, it attends to the problems of the funding for the industrial zone and its advantage and disadvantage. Then recount programs of industrial zones supported by the government and from the European Union. Subsequently it includes the labour market and the tax quota. The practical part is focused on industrial zones in the South Bohemia which were supported by government programs to assess the effectiveness of selected industrial zones focus on the newly created jobs as an instrument for influencing the rate of unemployment in the locality.

The goal of this thesis is to analyse anti-smoking standard in restaurant facilities in czech as well in international dimension and to make comparison with reality in a chosen locality. Important part of this thesis is research made in city Benešov.

Hybrid zones provide a valuable opportunity to study the process of speciation in real time. Untested combinations of genes from diverging populations come to the contact here causing a breakdown of genetic interactions and giving rise to reproductive isolation. Two house mouse subspecies (Mus musculus musculus/Mus musculus domesticus) form a narrow zone of secondary contact across Central Europe which is thought to be maintained by a balance between selection against unfit hybrids and dispersion of individuals. During my PhD study my collaborators and I used an array of ~ 1400 SNP markers to study patterns of introgression on a genome-wide scale across two/three house mouse hybrid zone transects. Our aim was to identify the genomic regions putatively harboring genes which are involved in the reproductive isolation between the two subspecies, characterize their distribution in mouse genome and assess genomic features associated with them. We were able to confirm on a genome-wide scale the importance of the X chromosome in the evolution of reproductive isolation. This chromosome exhibited introgression corresponding to strong negative epistasis and the patterns were consistent between transects pointing out to a common basis of reproductive isolation playing a role in two transects. The objective of this thesis is to compare applications of seismic and geoelectric methods and to state recommendations for their application in future geological prospection, especially application of shallow seismic reflection. Another goal was verification of assumed course of tectonic lines and thickness and character of sedimentary infill, which are important for calculation of seismic hazard by actual standards in context with effort of prolonging licence and also expansion of nuclear power plant Dukovany. When selecting locations for survey there was an effort to confirm the position of the Diendorf-Boskovice zone border and fault zones leading through the zone. The survey was done using multi- electrode electrical resistivity tomography, refraction and reflection seismic.
