Aim of this thesis is to evaluate impact of foreign direct investments on convergence/divergence of the Visegrad four to EU15. Theoretical part contains necessary knowledge to execute this evaluation and includes review of empirical research employed with impact of FDI on economic growth. In first part of empirical analysis beta-convergence model is used to discover convergence of observed countries during period 1995-2015. Estimation uses OLS regression. The results show successful convergence of V4 to EU15. Afterwards there is analysis of impact of FDI on economic growth for the same period. Four models with escalating difficulty were used to evaluate this impact by using panel data regression. Pooled OLS and fixed effects are methods used in this regression. In the last model, more EU transition countries are included to confirm one of investigated hypotheses. Results of this analysis show significant and positive impact of FDI on economic growth in EU transitive economies. Using only V4 countries, I did not find out this impact to be significant. At last, all results are evaluated and given to mutual context. Recommendations to economic policy makers are included as well.

With the continuing process of globalization, national economies are intensively interconnecting with external enviroment. It is especially visible for Czech Republic, which geopolitical position stresses the importance of external business relationships. Economic prosperity of countries with open economy is largely determined by export performance and inflow of foreign direct investments, both of which are supported by economic diplomacy. The first scope of this thesis is to evaluate the economic diplomacy of Czech Republic, and secondly to empirically analyze the tools, which economic diplomacy is using - foreign visits of polititians and role of embassies. The gravity model of international trade was used to study the influence of both tools on the foreign trade and investment in Czech Republic between years 1993-2013. The results show, that if at least one visit per year was realized, the export grows by 14%. However, one average high official visit is associated with rising exports by about 4.7%. On the other hand, any realtionship with FDI was not found. Further analysis confirms the importance of the embassies and thier positive impact on foreign trade, in particular with culturally distant countries, where this effect is more pronounced. Diplomová práce se zabývá hospodářskými vztahy mezi Českou republikou a Rakouskem. Důraz je kladen na obecnou a ekonomickou charakteristiku současného Rakouska, vývoj vzájemných vztahů ČR a Rakouska, bilaterální zahraniční obchod, pozornost je věnována též problematice přímých zahraničních investic. Definovány jsou hlavní perspektivy vzájemných hospodářských vztahů, uvedeny jsou 2 příklady z reálného podnikatelského prostředí. V neposlední řadě práce srovnává české a rakouské obchodní i kulturní zvyklosti a definuje shodné a odlišné znaky obou kultur. V závěru jsou stručně shrnuty nejdůležitější poznatky a východiska pro další vývoj vzájemných česko-rakouských vztahů.

Cílem práce je systematicky zpracovat aktivity mezinárodních společností na území České republiky, porovnat rozdílnosti a ověřit kladené hypotézy na dostupných datech České národní banky. V poslední části kladu na roveň trojici Česká republika, Maďarsko a Polsko, země, které jsou do určité míry s Českou republikou srovnatelné a můžeme si u nich klást a ověřovat stejné hypotézy. Pro tuto část využívám data poskytovaná Organizací pro ekonomickou spolupráci a rozvoj. Pro analýzy jsem upravil Herfindahlův index koncentrace, jehož využívám pro měření homogenity.

Obsahem diplomové práce je komplexní vyhodnocení vývoje a současného stavu čínské ekonomiky, charakteristika pozice Číny v mezinárodním obchodě v souvislosti se vstupem do Světové obchodní organizace. Podrobněji se zaměřuje na vztah Číny a Evropské unie. Dále předkládaná práce identifikuje hlavní příčiny úpadku čínské civilizace a ztráty jejího postavení ve světě, vymezuje hlavní faktory vedoucí k nutnosti realizace hospodářských reforem, hodnotí jejich průběh, přínos a dopad. V neposlední řadě pojednává o roli přímých zahraničních investic a zahraničního obchodu v procesu otevírání se čínské ekonomiky světu. V závěru se pokouší o identifikaci hlavních problémů a výzev, navrhuje možná řešení a perspektivy vývoje.

Obsahem diplomové práce je zhodnocení hospodářského vývoje Číny s důrazem na období po vstupu do WTO a její současné postavení v mezinárodním obchodě. Charakterizovány jsou hospodářské reformy, politika otevírání se světu, makroekonomické veličiny, sektory hospodářství, vstup do WTO, role zahraničního obchodu a PZI, obchodní výměna Číny s USA, EU a ČR včetně sporných bodů. Dále identifikuje aktuální témata jako jsou surovinová závislost, vědecko-technologický výzkum, znečištění životního prostředí, práva k duševnímu vlastnictví a příprava na Olympijské hry.

The diploma thesis deals with the current problematic of foreign aid effectiveness and is divided into theoretical and practical part. Within the theoretical part is introduced its background needed for further understanding of current state of foreign aid today and its impact on developing countries. Ethiopia is used as a practical example. In the practical part of the thesis are established four sectors with the highest foreign inflows and the impact of aid is examined on them. The final part of the thesis is devoted to recommendations of what might be improved, either in Ethiopia as well as on the general level.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the issue of the balance of payments of the Czech republic. First, the theoretical part of thesis focuses on the explanation of the concept of the balance of payments, its main parts and the definition of the individual accounts of the balance of payments. In the thesis are also explained the principles of compiling the balance of payments according to the International Monetary Fund. The analytical part of the thesis deals with the development of the balance of payments of the Czech republic in years 2006-2015. Monitors the development of individual accounts and indicators of external economic balance. The work also delas with the principles of the Visegrad group and the comparison of individual country based on economic indicators.

In this thesis was analysed the prodecure during the import rathan goods from Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Indonesia to the Czech Republic. To alternate targets belonged comparison of the import from the countries of The European Union and from other countries from all over the world. Other alternate target was optimalisation of supply structure of organisation and suggestions of an implementation.
