Previous issue date: 2004 / Resumo: Este é um trabalho na área da Análise do Discurso francesa (AD), em que se busca o percurso dos sentidos sobre a beleza através dos séculos. Esse trabalho consiste, então, em pensar os discursos seguindo um caminho, um percurso e descobrir que nessa trajetória eles podem prosseguir, desviar ou mesmo estabilizar. É compreender que o discurso tem uma história e uma memória, e estudá-lo implica na investigação dos processos de sua construção, origem e funcionamento. Considerando que o corpo funciona como materialidade simbólica de significação, propomos compreender de que forma o corpo feminino tem sido significado enquanto um corpo belo. Na busca pelo histórico-discursivo que diz e constrói esse corpo, enveredamos por caminhos e traçados ideológicos materializados em discursos produzidos ao longo de milhares de anos, numa tentativa de resgatar sentidos sobre a beleza feminina e compreender as questões ideológicas que envolvem esses sentidos, e quais os trajetos percorridos por eles, a fim de compreendermos porque eles se apresentam, hoje, visibilizados pela mídia, desta, e não de outra maneira. Para tal investigação, foi fundamental considerar a questão do gênero. Gênero, compreendido aqui, como construção cultural do que a sociedade entende do que é ser homem e do que é ser mulher, pois o modo de agir do homem e da mulher é determinado socialmente e influem na constituição do pensamento, e conseqüentemente da linguagem, constituindo um imaginário de formas de agir de cada sexo. Considerando o corpo como uma superfície sobre o qual se inscreve o social, procuramos compreender, em alguma medida, como o discurso se faz corporeidade; ou seja, como os discursos se fazem prática ao dizer sobre os corpos, numa ação que envolve poder ¿ o poder-dizer sobre ¿ funcionando como um Aparelho Ideológico do Estado (AIE), capturando nosso imaginário e construindo nossa consciência.
Condições de produção revelam-se um suporte fundamental nesse trabalho, pois cada época investe diferentemente sobre os corpos, construindo normas e condutas que estão
ligadas ao imaginário social que as tornaram possíveis. A partir desse imaginário, o corpo está sempre (re) descoberto e (re) inventado, e os sentidos que se apresentam sobre ele são sempre provisórios. E o que possibilita esse movimento, é o fato de os sujeitos serem simbólicos e históricos, condição básica para que haja sujeitos e sentidos / Abstract: This is a work in the area of the Discourse Analysis of the French (AD), where it searches the course of the senses about beauty throughout the centuries. This work consists then of thinking about discourse following a way, a route and find out that in this trajectory they may proceed, to divert or even to stabilize. It is to understand that the discourse has a history and a memory, and to study it involves an investigation of processes of its construction, origin and operating form. Considering that the body functions as symbolic materiality of meanings, we propose to comprehend how the female body has been meant while considered beautiful. In the pursuit by historic discourse that says and constructs this body, we go toward the ideological trace materialized on discourses produced along thousand of years, trying to recover the senses concerning female beauty and understand ideological questions involving these senses and which paths have been run through by them, in order to enable us to understand why they present themselves today, how they are seen by the media in this way and not in another way. For such an investigation, it has been fundamental to consider the question of gender. Gender as understood in this work as cultural construction than the society considers what is to be a man and what is to be a woman, thus considering the behaviour that both man and woman is socially determined and has an influence directly on thoughts constitution and consequently on the language constituting an imaginary form of acting of each sex. Considering the body as a surface whereon we may sign the social up we look forward to understand by any reason how the discourse can make itself corporeity or how the discourse make itself practices when describing bodies i.n action that involves power ¿ the ¿power-saying about¿ ¿ operating as an Ideological Device of the State (AIE) capturing our imaginary and building up our conscience. Conditions of production show itself a basic support in this work as each time has its investiment differently on the bodies constituting rules and behaviours which are linked to social imaginary that make them possible. From this imaginary the body has always been (re) found out and (re) invented and the senses presented on it are always temporary. And what makes this movement is the fact the subjects are symbolics and historics, basic condition to have subjects and senses / Mestrado / Linguistica / Mestre em Linguística
