Previous issue date: 2015-03-07 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Reflections present in this text about the political participation of women in the legislature in three cities in Ceará region Cariri. I intend here the idea of a rigid political field marked historically as own space of male action, in this context, women's participation is presented as an applicant for recognition of a legitimate genre while possessing qualities to be in politics. The objective of the research was to understand barriers to effective political participation of women and how they perceive themselves in that specific field. What ended up was inferred that these women overcome the barriers of politics as being one among many who have to face, if constructed as worthy and qualified to represent his people, and credited it to their own gender status. Thereby before the departure from formal politics is what legitimizes this field: their feminine qualities. For that they make it possible to negotiate a woman, learning the rules of the field while creating new ways of being there. / Apresento nesse texto reflexões quanto à participação política de mulheres no legislativo em três cidades da região do Cariri cearense. Tenciono aqui a ideia de um campo político rígido, marcado historicamente como espaço próprio da ação masculina, nesse contexto, a participação feminina se apresenta como requerente de um reconhecimento de um gênero enquanto possuidor de qualidades legitimas para estar no campo da política. O objetivo da investigação era perceber entraves a efetiva participação política de mulheres e como elas se percebiam naquele campo especifico. O que acabamos por inferir foi que essas mulheres superam as barreiras da política como sendo mais um entre tantos que tem que enfrentar, constroem-se como dignas e capacitadas para representarem seu povo, e creditam isso a sua própria condição de gênero. Desse modo o que antes as afastavam da política formal é o que as legitima nesse campo: suas qualidades femininas. Para tanto elas tornam possível negociar o ser mulher, apreendendo as regras do campo e ao mesmo tempo criando novas formas de estar lá.
