Daggmasken under lupp : En fallstudie om en förskolepedagogs arbete med ett digitalt verktyg i utomhusmiljö / The worm under the loupe : A case study that shows a preschool teacher’s work with digital tools outdoors

The purpose of this case study is to investigate and visualize how a preschool teacher uses digital tools in outdoor settings. I have chosen to focus on a tablet and a tool called the ’’web egg’’. The study is conducted at a preschool. The methods used are observation of a preschool teacher and children, and supplementary interviews with the preschool teacher to get more answers. The results show the teachers use of the web egg and the tablet outdoors. The tools are used as search engines to find information which leads to further discussions. The web egg and the tablet create situations where the language is central, this gives the children a chance to develop their verbal ability. The study also shows how the tools contributes to science education, by bringing the tools outside can they not only be a source to find information. Instead the children themselves must search, both visually and tactile. The tools complement each other and contributes to an immersed learning in sience education.
