In this paper we have examined how to create value for users of a platform for localcooperation. With the aim to understand how sharing platforms can leverage the emergenceof a collaborative economy we have performed a qualitative case study on a platforminfrastructure for local platforms. The study has been conducted on two project platformswithin the platform infrastructure, where the value these users are seeking from thetechnology has been increased collaboration, visibility and tools for simplified daily business. Our results finds that interactions supported by a frictionless user experience between usersare central to the promotion of these values. Such an experience is reliant on platforms abilityto accommodate dialogue between end-users and developers. We suggest that furtherdevelopment of platforms for local cooperation are to be done collaboratively together withend-users, and prompt platforms for local cooperation to develop open source.
