Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den vanligaste cancertypen hos kvinnor. Bröstcancer har olika stadieindelning och olika namn beroende på vart den sitter i bröstet. Det finns olika typer av bröstcancerbehandlingar som kan påverka kvinnan både fysiskt och psykiskt. Sjuksköterskans roll är att bemöta dessa kvinnor och hjälpa dem under deras hälsoprocess. Syfte: Att undersöka kvinnors upplevelser efter en bröstcancerdiagnos. Metod: Metoden som användes var en integrerad sammanställning av kvalitativa studier. Data samlades in från elva kvalitativa artiklar. Resultat: Resultatet består av tre huvudkategorier: Förändrad kropp och själ, Bemötande och Ett annorlunda liv med tillhörande sex underkategorier. Dessa beskriver hur kvinnans fysiska och psykiska hälsa drabbats av bröstcancer men även andra faktorer påverkade dem. Hur de finner acceptans inför sitt nya annorlunda liv. Konklusion: Studien visar hur kvinnorna både uppskattade och är missnöjda över det nya livet. Varje kvinna hade en egen upplevelse som påverkats av egna tankar. / Background: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer for women. Breast cancer has different stages and names depending on where it is located in the breast. There are different types of treatments for breast cancer which can affect the women both physically and psychologically. The nurse's role is to meet these women and help them during their health process. Aim: To investigate women’s experiences after a breast cancer diagnosis. Method: The method used was an integrated compilation of qualitative studies. The data was gathered from eleven qualitative articles. Findings: The result consists of three main categories: Altered body and soul, Interactions and A different way of life with six subcategories. These showed how women´s physical and mental health was affected by breast cancer, but also other factors can affect them. Conclusion: The study shows how the women both appreciate and are dissatisfied with the new life. Each woman had her own experience which is influenced by her own thoughts.
