nÃo hà / Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar como a figura do padre CÃcero, enquanto promotor de uma identidade caririense, à representada em cordÃis nordestinos. Como horizonte de investigaÃÃo, a pesquisa parte da hipÃtese de que os cordÃis nordestinos, contribuindo com a difusÃo de uma imagem mitificada do padre CÃcero, contribuÃram com a produÃÃo de referÃncias com as quais os caririenses tÃm erigido sua autoimagem. Com base em discussÃes de teÃricos como Stuart Hall, Claude LÃvi-Strauss, JoÃl Candau e Maurice Halbwachs, entre outros, discorre-se aqui sobre aspectos ligados à formaÃÃo de identidades, incluindo a importÃncia da memÃria coletiva nesse processo. Essas consideraÃÃes teÃricas permitem uma anÃlise mais objetiva dos cordÃis selecionados como corpus de trabalho, atravÃs da qual se investigam, por exemplo, as estratÃgias empregadas pelos cordelistas com o objetivo de contribuir com a âcanonizaÃÃoâ popular do padre CÃcero, incluindo-se aà a associaÃÃo do sacerdote com Jesus Cristo. Nesse contexto, mostra-se como o cordel trabalha pari passu com uma memÃria coletiva, fomentando um imaginÃrio que mitifica tanto a figura do padre CÃcero quanto do Cariri, terra em que ele exerceu seu ministÃrio pastoral e sua aÃÃo polÃtica. / This study aims at analyzing how the figure of Father Cicero, as a promoter of a Cariri identity, is represented in northeastern cordel literature. The research starts on the hypothesis that the northeastern cordel, by contributing to the spread of a mythologized image of Father Cicero, contributed to the production of references with which people from Cariri erected their self-image. Based on theorists such as Stuart Hall, Claude LÃvi-Strauss, JoÃl Candau and Maurice Halbwachs, among others, this work discusses aspects of identity formation, including the importance of the collective memory in this process. These theoretical considerations allow for a more objective analysis of the cordels which were selected as the corpus of the work, through which it is investigated, for example, the strategies employed by the cordel authors with the aim of contributing to the popular "canonization" of Father Cicero, including therein the association of the priest to Jesus Christ. In this context, it is shown how the cordel works on a pari passu basis with a collective memory, encouraging an imaginary which mythicizes the figure of Father Cicero as well as of Cariri, where he exercised his pastoral ministry and his political action.
