”If you believe I have the right to a life, come and sit with me” : En kvalitativ fallstudie om sociala rörelsen Ung i Sveriges mobiliseringsprocess

The aim of this essay is to study the social movement Ung i Sverige and to clarify how their success of mobilization can be explained from the theory of framing. As modern society offers new ways to speak out and communicate, it is interesting to study how the movement was able to motivate to political engagement and participation. The study has focused on analyzing the content of the movement’s social media accounts to examine how they framed their political message. By conducting a qualitative case study and content analysis, the empirical material was sorted by a coding schema, with thematic themes. These themes describe the diagnostic-, prognostic- and motivational framing of the movement. The result revealed that the movement’s framed messages changed and developed throughout the process of mobilization. The conclusion is that there are several factors in the movement’s framing that can be possible explanations for the success of their mobilization.
