Akwẽ-Xerente, considering especially the health field not exclusively biomedical perspective,
but fundamentally, the sociocultural context that permeates, checking for a moment
intersectionality between the universal and the particular said, pointing to an intercultural
perspective. Emphasis was given to the issues of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium the
Akwẽ considering not only access to care and/ of health services, but also the perceptions and
characteristics that people on this subject. This is a survey that was used combined
ethnographic method and qualitative procedures were performed in the village Salto Kripré in
Indigenous Land Xerente-TO. The results of this study will help to improve stocks of
reproductive health care for indigenous women, especially the Akwẽ-Xerente in the sense of
respecting their specificities. / Este trabalho teve como objetivo acessar, compreender e interpretar a questão da saúde
reprodutiva das mulheres Akwẽ-Xerente, considerando, sobretudo, o campo da saúde não em
exclusiva perspectiva biomédica, mas, fundamentalmente, no âmbito sociocultural que o
perpassa, verificando a existência de um momento de intersecionalidade entre o dito universal
e o particular, apontando para uma perspectiva intercultural. Foi dada ênfase às questões da
gestação, parto e puerpério das Akwẽ, considerando não só o acesso e o atendimento aos/ dos
serviços de saúde, mas também as percepções e as particularidades desse Povo sobre esse
assunto. Trata-se de uma pesquisa que utilizou do método etnográfico combinado a
procedimentos qualitativos e que foi realizada na aldeia Salto Kripré na Terra Indígena
Xerente-TO. Os resultados deste estudo poderão contribuir para melhorarem as ações de
cuidado à saúde reprodutiva de mulheres indígenas, sobretudo das Akwẽ-Xerente, no sentido
do respeito às suas especificidades.
