Previous issue date: 2008-12-22 / The objective of this study is to analyze the contributions of the controlling area in the support to the treasury management in a financial institution. Both areas of controlling department and treasury are widely discussed, be it in books or in dissertations and thesis, comprehending the corporate as well as the financial institution environments. Thus, this research aims to answer the following problem question: What is the contribution of the controlling area to the treasury in a financial institution? Initially, from bibliographic research, concepts inherent to the controlling and treasury environments in a financial institution are presented. Then, a case study is performed on a bank with headquarters in the State of S??o Paulo, but with offices all over Brazil. The research was conducted through an interview with the controlling area Superintendent and also through documents received from the institution itself. The results obtained with the research enable to conclude that, for this institution, the controlling area acts in the support to the treasury area, with the role of management of information ranging from results to the control and measurement of financial risks. / O prop??sito deste estudo ?? analisar as contribui????es da controladoria no suporte a gest??o de tesouraria em uma institui????o financeira. Tanto a ??rea de controladoria como de tesouraria s??o amplamente discutidas, seja em livros ou em disserta????es e teses, abrangendo tanto o ambiente de empresas como o de institui????es financeiras. Desta forma, esta pesquisa visa responder ?? seguinte quest??o problema: Qual a contribui????o da controladoria para as atividades da ??rea de tesouraria em uma institui????o financeira? Inicialmente s??o apresentados, a partir da pesquisa bibliogr??fica, conceitos inerentes ao ambiente da controladoria e da tesouraria em uma institui????o financeira. Posteriormente, ?? realizado um estudo de caso de um banco com sede no Estado de S??o Paulo, mas com escrit??rios em v??rios estados do Brasil. A pesquisa foi conduzida atrav??s de uma entrevista com o Superintendente da ??rea de controladoria e tamb??m por meio de documentos recebidos da pr??pria institui????o. Os resultados obtidos com a pesquisa permitem concluir que nesta institui????o a controladoria atua no suporte ?? ??rea de tesouraria, com a fun????o de gestora de informa????es que v??o desde resultados ao controle e mensura????o de riscos financeiros.
